Some days, it's nice to just let the world fly by as you kick back and relax, admiring the beautiful day around you as the tunes on your phone help add to the peaceful bliss.

Mark your calendars! This is my first-ever legit art trade! And my first one ever wasn't with just anyone either. No, it was my first mentor in the ways of furry art, !
In October of 2013, they noticed my earliest attempt at Paint Tool SAI with my then-new Wacom tablet pop up on the front page of FA, and out of the kindness of their heart, they gladly helped me out with some helpful advice and links. Long story short, they've been a huge help in the ways of SAI as I progressed with it and my tablet, gladly offering to give me tons of feedback and input along the way. I couldn't have asked for such a sweet and wonderful mentor back then. Then some time passed, and they soon ended up becoming chronically ill which was very heartbreaking. And they even changed in terms of self-identity and fursona soon after, too. Just to be clear, they (and even their now ex-fursona) were originally female before they became agender, preferring he/they pronouns. But I digress. Because of the chronic illness early on, it hindered things quite a bit, and I was even sporadic with my furry artwork, producing either traditional or digital media only every so often. Still, I've never forgotten all the amazing advice and tutorials from them as far as anything SAI-related which has helped quite a bit last year especially when I got more serious into improving on my furry artwork again (huge thanks to my best friend for that). And of course, was still able to draw even when ill and has since been into the whole art scene all over again and has flourished with many new lovely characters an drawings in their style; even despite last year being full of hiatuses for them, they still draw pretty cool pieces! And I'm honored to have been a part of a few of their drawings, too, via raffles.
Fast forward to January 12th this year, they get in touch with me regarding a part of my latest journal where I needed help as far as getting rid of a persistent cough. Good news: that cough's long gone now. lmao But even better news: we were very happy to be talking again, and at point in our conversations when we brought up how much I've improved art-wise, they proposed the idea of a shaded chibi trade! What an honor, drawing something at long last for my first furry art mentor!
I ended up drawing their ex-fursona, Honey, 'cause I've always wanted to. I didn't care if they were genderless or female or whatever. I just always enjoyed how they drew Honey.
I based the overall design off of their original refsheet for them, resorting to one of the three optional hairstyles and using their original hair colour. I'm really hoping I did their character some sort of justice; they've always done my fursona justice countless times in the past, and I've always wanted to return the favor. I gotta say that this art trade was a lot of fun, especially trying to think of something not too complicated for the pose and be as true to their personality as possible. Also in hindsight, I may have given this far more detail than just chibi.
