Yeah, umm...
I've really grown to like this guy. Like, a lot.
Also, Zangoose Aladar looks good in everything, but it's so weird seeing him in Fox Aladar's outfit XP
Not sure if it'll be his regular outfit for Delga but it's a placeholder since I couldn't think of anything else.
Also, this is the longest thing I've written in a while. It was nice to sit down and write.
Maybe I'll finally get back to writing my stories :p

“Ugh… how much longer until I reach the town?”
I checked my watch; it read three forty-eight in the afternoon.
My name is Aladar Seon, and I’m a traveling Zangoose. Being twenty-one, the world is my oyster, and since I’m a delivery boy, in addition to going around, I made it my goal to travel all over the place in search of the best foods.
I was riding on my hoverboard, delivering a package to some small town I had never even heard of. However, after doing a little research, I found out that this town was rumored to be able to reach through dimensions, and was actually one of the first places ever to connect worlds and its inhabitants.
Kinda strange that it’s not well-known. Dimension traveling isn’t a new topic. Seeing how there’s an endless amount of species in this world that exist, however, dimension traveling itself is forbidden, unless it’s done by a professional.
After all, who knows what consequences there could be. There are some rather dark cults out there that want to use this power to unleash chaos. These groups are always being searched for and terminated, given instant death penalties; not that I blame the law of course.
Last thing we want is to have some demon or something enter our world.
Anyway, back to the small town.
The only reason I know how to get there was because my boss had connections to the place. Apparently it was really urgent that I get the package he gave me delivered; I don’t think I’ve ever seen him be so hasty about a delivery. Whatever I had on me clearly couldn’t wait until Monday to be sent, seeing how it was a Saturday afternoon…
I sighed.
I will be honest, something about this package really bugged me…
Looking ahead, the afternoon sun was was giving a warm glow.
It was Autumn, November to be exact, my favorite season of the year, and the crisp air was not too cold yet, perfect for riding, and taking my mind of the slight unease I had.
“I just hope the hotel is nice.”
Yeah, my boss also booked me a hotel to stay at when I got there. I mean, I have been riding for a few hours now, and though I could probably make the trip back, I really didn’t have the patience in me to ride for seven hours in one day.
“Huh?”
It seemed like I was almost there.
I could see the town in the distance. It certainly wasn’t a large city, but it did have rural small-town vibe to it.
However, there was something that stood out immediately.
Right to the east of the town was a massive structure; this structure was the temple.
The only reason I knew this was because my boss told me; he said I couldn’t miss it, and apparently it was the place where the people would reach out to the different worlds.
However, that wasn’t my destination.
A few minutes had passed after the town came into the view, and I had eventually found myself to the post office of this town known as Rakonton.
Rakonton wasn’t too shabby.
Yeah, the place was rural, but the people seemed to be caught up with the times. The place had quite a few chain restaurants, everyone seemed to have a cell-phone, and the place was pretty bustling; well, bustling for a small town.
“Mr. Ssssseon, it’sssss good that you’ve finally arrived. We’ve been expecting you.”
I was greeted by a male, black python who was working at the front desk.
“Hello.” I said with a small bow. “I assumed Boss Isa told you I was coming?”
He nodded, soon stepping out from behind the front desk.
“I got the package, one sec.”
That said, I took out my phone and punched in a few numbers from the storage system on it. The packaged materialized from my phone onto the counter.
“Exxxcccelent.” The python purred, taking the box into his hands. “Thank you very much, Mr, Sssseon.”
I let out a nervous chuckle, scratching the back of my head.
“Just doing my job.” I replied.
Did I mention this guy was looking at me funny?
Like, he was looking at me like I was a delicious piece of peanut butter pie.
…
Yeah, I may or may not be craving that right now.
“Well, umm… I’m gonna go find that hotel Isa booked me a room for.”
He didn’t reply, and went into the back room.
It could have just been me, but I swear I heard him cackling as he left.
I don’t want to be here too long…
Things didn’t really get any better after leaving the post office.
I’m pretty sure everyone around here knew each other, because after leaving the post office, I got to the hotel, and the doorman and receptionist there both knew my name and who I was before I could even tell them I had a reservation, and after I checked in, I went to one of the restaurants, and the waiters knew me as well. I mean, I would be lying if I said I didn’t mind the discount for my food, but still…
To any normal person, I’m sure they would have felt very welcome, but for some reason, I couldn’t help but feel really uneasy and kinda creeped out.
Night was approaching, and I was being escorted back to my room.
“And if you need anything, don’t hesitate to call.” The panther bellhop said as I reached my door. “Hope you have a nice stay~”
“Thank you.” I replied. “Good night.”
I quickly entered my room and fell onto the bed, breathing an exasperated sigh.
Dear Arceus, what was with this town?
I delivered a package, why is everyone treating me like I’ve been a celebrity living here all my life?
All of this attention really didn’t help the unease that I’ve been feeling all day.
It was good to finally be alone though.
Laying on the bed, I looked out the doors to the balcony and saw the temple.
Funny, despite all the attention, no one bothered to tell me anything about it. I had got quite a bit of trivia from the people here about the town, but out of all the things here, I’m surprised that they would leave out what would most likely be the most interesting thing about this place.
Oh well…
Maybe I’ll visit it tomorrow.
…
On second thought, actually I want to get out of this place as soon as possible.
There was seriously something wrong with this place. My gut was telling me this, and I never doubt my gut.
My phone pinged.
Picking it up, I saw it was from one of my friends back home.
“Hey Lewis,” I typed, replying to his message.
“Hey Zan,” He replied back. “How’s the business trip?”
Lewis was a police officer back in Karlon, the city I lived in. He was my best friend from school, and a very reliable person. Also he was a pure-white wolf, a very lovely person who I actually dated. However, we were just better off being friends, but he’s still always looking out for me.
“Eh, the place is definitely hospitable.” I typed, chuckling a little. “A bit too much to be exact. The people are nice, but I kinda wish they were less in-your-face about it.”
“Getting a bit too close to the Zangy?” He replied with a tongue emote. “Hey, you might as well take this opportunity to get a nice guy to screw ya~”
Once again, with a tongue emote.
I rolled my eyes.
“You know I’m not looking for anyone.” I replied back. “Plus, the people here give me the creeps. You know that you should never fuck with crazy.”
I put my phone on the charger as I talked.
The two of us bullshitted together for about twenty minutes, but I was getting tired.
I needed sleep, and told Lewis I was gonna turn in.
However, it didn’t come.
After turning off the lights, I tossed and turned for about an hour. It was like being in that state where you feel like you have no energy, but you just can’t keep your eyes closed.
“Ugh…”
Getting up from the bed, I went onto the balcony.
It was chilly out, but it felt nice.
You know, now that I think about it, it was kinda hot in my room. I guess it makes sense the heater was on since the days were getting colder.
Guess I should turn it down a little when I get back in.
I wanted to stay out for a bit though.
My eyes were glued to the temple, but something broke my attention.
I noticed something strange…
All of the lights in the city were off. I peaked off the ledge to look at the other rooms of the hotel, and they were off too.
Was there a power outage?
Going back into my room, I checked my phone, and saw that it was still charging. The heater was also still running, and when I adjusted the temperature, the meter glowed a little to show me that I was, so there was no way that the power was off.
The next thing I was going to do was turn on the lights themselves, but I halted.
I heard the sounds of footsteps, lots of them.
A sudden sense of dread began rising from my stomach.
I don’t know how, but I had a feeling that there were people coming to get me.
Yeah, I might be overreacting, but I grabbed my phone and charger, then scurried underneath the bed, peeking from the smallest hole I made. If this was some false alarm, then I had nothing to worry about, but if this was really somethin-
…
The knob on my door was being fiddled with…
Dear Arceus…
The door opened, and a few people wearing black cloaks walked into the room.
“He’s not here!” One of them said.
“He was here a hour ago!”
I recognize that voice; it was the panther bellhop.
Fuck, there was a cult in this town…
Though the black robes were cliched, it didn’t really make the fear I felt go away.
“Well? Find him!” The first voice almost shouted. “We need him to do the ritual. Unless one of you want to risk being dragged to another dimension! If we want to bring back our master and live, we need him!”
Ritual? Master?
“All of these failed attempts are really starting to piss me off!”
That said, the group left the room.
Well, time to make my great escape.
Though it wasn’t the smartest idea in the world, I decided to go out the window by tying the sheets of the bed together.
I dropped down to the first floor and bolted in the direction of the temple.
Why the temple?
Because these people might be smart. They’ll have people at the entrance of the town, and if there’s any place they’ll have a ritual, it’s at the temple, so I know they’ll never look for me there.
If I’m lucky, I can camp out there until morning, then bolt.
Lucky for me, this town was pretty small, and with everyone searching near the hotel, making my way to the temple was cake.
Speaking of, the temple itself was pretty run-down. The architect and structure looked pretty good and sturdy, but there were a few broken pieces here and there, and the appearance was rather shoddy. However, the size of the place was larger than I thought, and I was sure that I could hide in here without anyone knowing I was there.
I didn’t waste any time entering the place.
The description I gave the outside of the place could pretty much be said for the inside too.
The place wasn’t empty though. I heard a few people talking, but only a few, so the full cast must not be here.
Well, I knew that already.
Anyway, quietly climbing the stone stairs, I found myself a small room to the side of the place that I decided to hide in. This room didn’t look too important, so I figured they probably wouldn’t come in here.
When I looked around though, I might have been wrong.
On the floor in front of me was a hole. It wasn’t any regular hole though, it was a perfectly three-hundred sixty degree hole with what looked like a light-blue, spiral vortex in it.
I had only seen these in books, but I knew I was looking at a dimension hole.
I needed to tell Lewis.
Not only was there a cult in this town, but they were performing illegal dimension rituals.
This must have been what they meant by getting stuck in dimensions to bring back their master.
They must be putting people into this hole, or maybe letting something come out of it.
I don’t know, but I didn’t want to find out.
Taking out my phone, I snapped a picture of the dimension hole and sent it to Lewis with the word ‘Temple’, hoping he would see it soon.
Good thing I let him know where I was, maybe he can send me some help.
Once again though, I heard some footsteps, and I went to the only hiding place there was in the room, the altar behind the dimension hole. However, no one seemed to enter the room; instead, I heard something being tossed into the floor instead.
I waited a minute before looking at whatever was tossed in. Giving it about five minutes, I peeked my head from behind the altar, and my eyes widened a little when I saw that it was the package that I came here to deliver.
Part of me wanted to stay away from it, but my curiosity got the better of me.
“Okay, I gotta make this fast.”
I wasn’t planning on staying out of my hiding spot for long, so I quickly bolted from my spot, grabbed the package, then ran right back.
Opening the box, I wasn’t expecting to find some sort of hourglass within it.
Before I could even think about what this thing was, I heard what sounded like a large door being slammed shut.
Looking back at the entrance to the room, I saw that it was now blocked, and that caused me to run from my spot and examine the door that was now there.
I swear to Arceus this entryway didn’t have a door.
“It seems that we didn’t even need to bring you here by force.”
I growled.
I didn’t know where exactly the voice was coming from, but I assume that there was probably some speaker in the room that was projecting their voices.
My heart was racing; I had fallen right into their trap.
A trap they didn’t even set that is…
“Now then, since you’re here, why don’t you do us a favor and toss that hourglass into the vortex. That relic you hold is a key, a key to another world; one that hopefully has the thing that we want.”
‘Hopefully’ was the key word here. If it didn’t, who knows what kind of dimension I’ll open, and who knows what’ll come out or drag me in.
“If things go well…” The speaker continued. “Then there will be no trouble for you.”
The voice then let out a chuckle.
“Your boss might even give you a raise.”
Ugh… I was set up by my boss.
Frick.
However, as much as I didn’t want to do this, I didn’t have a choice. This room didn’t have any other exits, and for some reason, the thought of blowing up a place with a dimension hole in it would probably have some consequences that I couldn’t comprehend.
My heart was racing as I approached the altar, holding the hourglass in my arms.
Was I really going to do this? I could be killed. If I opened a dangerous dimension, I could let something into this world that we can’t control.
There are an infinite amount of dimensions out there, so normally I wouldn’t be so worried, but from what these guys said earlier about failed attempts, I had a feeling that even if I did get these guys their master, I don’t think things will go well for me. These guys are clearly opening portals to dangerous dimensions that are leading people to get taken.
Taking a deep breath, I soon found myself right above the portal.
“Good boy~” The guy from the speaker purred. “Now, drop the key in.”
I really didn’t want to do this…
My hand was shaking, but I was following the speaker’s order.
“Here goes nothing…”
Holding the hourglass above the portal, I let it go, and immediately ran behind the altar, attempting to hide from whatever was to pop out of that hole.
…
…
Minutes passed and nothing happened.
I waited for something to happen, but nothing did.
“Nothing… AGAIN!!!!”
I heard whoever was on the speaker, but this time they were yelling from outside the room and not on the speaker.
I peeked my head around the altar to look at the dimension hole.
There was no longer a light-blue swirl to the hole, but instead, just blackness…
…
…
“...h”
Huh?
It could just be my paranoia, but I swore I heard a voice coming from the blackness.
“Hh…..”
I came out from behind the altar and got a little closer to the portal. As I looked closely, I could see little movements in the blackness; faint silhouettes. Outlines moving in the slightest shade brighter than the blackness that stared back at me.
“A… Aug…”
The voice sounded again , and though it was faint, it almost sounded like a scream; a cry for help that was being silenced.
Was that…
Looking really close to the silhouette, it started to look like…
My eyes widened.
Without hesitation, I reached my hand into the portal, and almost instantly, another hand grabbed it.
Someone was in there, and they needed help!
I soon stuck my other hand in as well to grab the hand that was clinging onto mine. Whoever was stuck was clearly being held back by something or someone, seeing how there was a lot of resist on the other side.
Taking a deep breath, I focused my energy onto whoever I was pulling up, and a red circle of light appeared at my feet.
“Lend us your strength, O’ flames of might!” I chanted, then my body flashed. “Blaze Emitter!”
Blaze Emitter was an attack buff arte I knew, and seeing how I didn’t cast it upon myself, it must have gone to whoever I was helping up.
Hopefully it gave them enough strength to fight off whatever was holding them back; or at least loosen their grip on them.
“Come on…”
It was working, I could tell because pulling was easier.
The first thing I saw from the guy was his red fingers that were in a black gauntlet. Soon I got to see more of his arm. Red, and quite muscular too, seeing how his arm was just about the thickness of like both of mine together would be.
Maybe more actually... Like three or four...
Not important right now.
“Urrr…”
Then I saw his face…
He was a dragon. Red dragon with blonde hair and two white horns. He had some fangs at the corners of his mouth that seemed to be grown outside of his mouth along his lips.
His eyes though, they were like mine; a bright emerald green; quite beautiful I have to admit.
I couldn’t just stare though, and with him grabbing onto the edge of the hole, and me giving one last strong pull, we finally managed to get him out of there.
He was breathing heavily, and collapsed onto the floor, now coughing up what seemed to be some sort of black goo.
“Are you okay?” I asked, getting on a knee and offering him a hand.
Though he didn’t look too good, I could at least assume that he was better here than wherever he just was.
After about a minute, the larger male looked up at me.
There were tears in his eyes.
“Th-”
He coughed a few times, but shook his head.
“Thank… you.”
Tears were now streaming down his face.
I looked back at the dimension hole. It seemed that the dimension I just opened had closed, seeing how the blackness was now gone and replaced with the default light-blue spiral.
Hopefully that meant that whatever was holding him there was now long gone.
I will admit, I kinda forgot that I was being held here. I wasn’t really expecting to save a dragon from something that looked like it wasn’t really giving him a good time. He didn’t really have any shame of crying in front of me, and I wasn’t really going to blame him.
He began coughing again, choking a bit.
I took out my phone from my pocket and materialized a soda I had started earlier and was saving for later, but this guy clearly needed it more.
“Here, drink this.” I said, handing him the drink.
His hand was shaking, but he managed to take the drink, and began sipping from it, all the while wiping the tears from his eyes.
“Ah…”
I looked like he was calming down a little.
“Better?” I asked.
He nodded, letting out a sigh.
“I-I never th-thought I w-would be saved…” He managed to mutter, and I could tell he was trying hard not cry again. “A monster… It was keeping me th-there. Doing…”
He gritted his teeth, and I assumed he was going to say something horrible.
“I-It was so dark. Black. There was only light when h-he f-found me… M-Months… Slime…”
However, the tears returned, and he wiped them again and took another sip of the soda.
“He caught me again… I then saw a faint light above me.”
He looked me in the eye.
“I s-saw you… And… And… And screamed for help!”
“And I heard you.” I continued. “It was incredibly faint, and when I saw you, I only saw a very faint outline of you. I saw your hand, and you were reaching out for me, weren’t you? Hoping I would pull you out of there.”
He nodded rather intensely.
This is a weird thing to say, but somehow I’m incredibly glad that I was brought here and forced to open that dimension.
If I wasn’t, this guy might have to endure whatever was going on down there for even longer.
I was his opportunity for freedom.
That said, his breathing grew a little softer, and I could tell that he was now starting to calm down.
“You saved me…” He said.
Looking at him a little closer, I could see the bags under his eyes.
He let out another sigh, and I moved closer to him, resulting him falling onto my lap instead of the floor.
The poor guy must be exhausted.
I blushed slightly, but I made the man as comfortable as I could.
“Don’t worry buddy, it’s all over now. You can rest easy.”
Those were the best comforting words I could say, and I could tell they worked, because he was looking up at me, smiling, this time with just a single tear in his eyes.
“Wha… What’s your name?” The dragon asked.
“Aladar…” I answered with a soft smile. “It’s nice to meet you…”
“Delga.” He finished.
Delga…
I didn’t get to reply since he had finally passed out. I don’t blame him though; I could only imagine the last time the guy got some sleep without having to worry about something after him. I will admit though, Delga was pretty handsome.
Another blush appeared on my face as I heard him start snoring.
I couldn’t help but scratch behind his ears a little.
…
You know, those cultists are being awfully quiet…
I really hope Lewis got my text and is on his way...
I've really grown to like this guy. Like, a lot.

Definitely a good one. You just saved Delga! One of the characters I really like!
This is such an amazing series! The story is awesome and I love the relationship between Aladar and Delga! I'm glad you made two universes where this handsome dragon isn't some sadistic demon's plaything but instead is living his best life with people who love him.
Somehow, i thought this was made more than 10 years ago.
