In loving memory of Bradley "Smalls" Schmidt. I'm really going to miss you kid. You were a little brother to us all.
He died in the wee hours of this morning in Manassas... He went up the whole way up the east coast to New York, hopping trains and squatting from town to town. He was finally coming back home. But last night he missed the train he was trying to hop. I'm just speechless. Oh god Smalls, why did you have to leave Roanoke? I had such a bad feeling about this trip from the beginning. I know you were looking for adventure. You were so fucking young and reckless. Nothing could touch you, until reality reared its ugly head.. Fuck...
Goodbye buddy.

Oh sweetheart...I don't know what to say. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what a difficult time this must be for you. My heart goes out to you and all of Bradley's friends and family.
I know we haven't spoken much as of late, but I hope you know that if you ever need anything, I'm just a phone call away. So are Mayra and Russell.
Give my condolences to Bradley's friends and family. We all love you, honey.

Reminds me of Neil Cassidy, of whose meandering rap I have a 7" phonograph record of. He comes across as if he was on drugs. In the background music is playing. The record was part of a book on the Rolling Stones...
He died as a result of some drug-inspired stunt he pulled in Mexico, according to a book I have on the Rolling Stones. He was walking along a railroad track in his underwear, counting the ties and doing this all night. He was found the next morning collapsed from exhaustion, exposure to the elements, dehydration... Taken to the hospital, but died there.
