Presenting Levanter, a member of Smooshkin's Garuda species! Formerly Ramiel--a distinguished Garuda prince of house Enox--he has since been deposed and chased from his family estates by his enemies. Garuda socitety is notoriously ruthless...exponentially so within high society. Sensing a moment of weakness, two other esteemed houses collude and broker a pact to topple house Enox--timing their offensive with Ramiel's absence on sabbatical. Once returned the young Garuda finds his family either incarcerated or murdered, and all of their assets and properties seized or liquidated. It wasn't long after his return and subsequent discovery that an attempt was made on his life; as the sole remaining heir of house Enox, Ramiel represents a considerable threat to the twin houses.

Barely escaping the ambush by his tailfeathers the young Garuda now spends his days on the run from his enemies. With their pooled and newly bolstered resources the coterie spares no expense in hunting down the exiled prince, and in an effort to evade his pursuers Ramiel often assumes different aliases and names--'Levanter' being the most recent and most sustained. With only the clothes on his back and a few personal possessions on his person, Levanter slowly pawns off his belonging as he absconds--all to keep his head afloat and his belly full. As he moves from town to town, settlement to settlement, the Garuda finds himself taking on odd-jobs and other work of ill repute in an effort to finance his constant flight--even seeling his body on occasion should the need arise! It turns out the Garuda prince has developed somewhat of a taste (and a reputation) for the latter~

Knowing that he can't possibly live his life in constant Exile, Levanter often thinks on ways he can salvage his turn of fate; how he can exact revenge on his enemies, and bring his household back to it's former preeminence. Garuda nobles are typically powerful mages, and Levanter is certainly one of the best--his magical expertise has even earned him the moniker of 'Enoxian Crow.' Yet despite his prowess the young Garuda would stand no chance against the concerted might of his enemies.

And so Levanter flees, drifting like the sands...nursing his grudges and biding his time...waiting for that moment of inspiration, that reversal of fortune, or maybe even someone else to come along and aid him...

Originally drawn and owned by  smooshkin, Ramiel eventually found his way into the care of  Tarkeen as Qarash. This blackbird has since flown into my ownership, now as Levanter--he certainly gets around but hopefully he's here to stay~
