Hey everyone!
We've got a new version of Homecoming ready to be released! We've also got a special surprise for those who've been waiting: Homecoming now has an Android version! You can now play the game on your phone! Whoo!
We're going to be trying something different this time for the downloads. Instead of hosting them on a file site like MEGA or Mediafire, we're instead going to be using our new itch.io page! We'll also make a list of the changes we've made to this version in a "patch notes" section further below.
If you haven't checked it out already, here's a link to our page:

I get the appeal but I dislike the glasses for Shun. Just because he’s a gamer, doesn’t mean he has poor eyesight. It’s like he’s been changed from the lovable kid brother to the loveable dorky brother.
I understand what you mean, although video games aren't the reason why Shun wears glasses. In-universe, like Shun says himself, he is simply "cursed with bad eyesight", just something that he was unfortunate to have. As for why we chose to give him glasses, it's in reference to this concept art by the original team, that we fell in love with, and used as a basis for an older Shun (hence why Shun now has glasses and a striped shirt).
I actually think the glasses on Shun is a good aesthetic addition. Being a HUGE fan of the OG novel, I was for all eternity disappointed how creepy 'moe' they made Shun's character and love route. So imagine my relief when the lil' twerp shows up with a decent age maturity that's not like a 7-year-old. Glasses on his face, though layered with the common reason of video games, makes him stand out just a little more from everyone else. The only other person I've seen wear glasses are Kounosuke and Kouya's dad.
I'm in all support for the changes in this fan-made revival! I think you and the rest of the team are bringing an awesome A-game!

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm glad you like Shun's new design! ^^
I haven't been keeping up to date with this for a while, but I just found out about the main character being turned into an arctic fox. I understand that furries want.....furries, but as someone who just loves furry/human stuff this is sad to see this happening. I understood you were changing and adding so many things, but never something as big as the main character being an anthro. I was looking really forward to this, but I must admit I'm very sad. Morenatsu was my thing and I was hoping for another like it, another human/furry visual novel.
Hey! I'm sorry to hear that this decision isn't working for you, though I can assure you the decision wasn't made lightly: we believe it will really improve the game overall, and I hope the character will grow on you!
Have to say, I'm actually a big fan of the newest Shun sprite, I think it's a really nice look he's been given and less awkwardly 'too-young' looking. Eagerly awaiting further updates and wanted the whole team to know how much their work is appreciated, especially for a passion project being done off their own backs!
Thanks a lot, glad to see people liking the new Shun sprite, and I'll pass the message to the rest of the team!
The download on the itch.io page is called "Homecoming-Release_2-pc-linux.zip", the one with the linux and windows icon next to it.
I'm so excited! My heart actually stopped when I saw this. Shun's new look is definitely a change, but he looks really good too. I hope it's OK if I ask a few quick things. Is August 7th as far as we can go? Whose route's can we experience so far, is Juuichi a choice now? And will Ten still be a choice in Homecoming? Sorry for asking so much.
No problem!
August 7th is as far as we got up to now, and every character has several days dedicated to them, so you can definitely choose Juuichi.
Also, we're not planning on adding Ten as a choice in Homecoming, but we might incorporate some elements from his route into Juuichi's, so stay tuned, hehe.
Thank you for your interest in our game!

Hello again! I just wanted to say that I've been playing this for the past day, and I'm finding myself loving it more than I thought I would. I seriously think I've spent more time on Homecoming than Revisited. I was planning on doing Juuichi but now I find myself falling for Torahiko. What to do? What to do?! Anyway, just wanted to express how much I'm loving this game, and I eagerly look forward to more (hopefully) soon.
I think the dialogue box faces could be a bit smaller, they feel distractingly large as they are right now and take up too much of the screen that it sometimes hides the sprites
Thanks for the feedback, we'll toy around with the size and how it looks in the coming updates!
Well, Shun has lost his appeal.
And it is not due to the glasses ;;
Appreciate torahiko’s updated look, but still (very much so) disagree with the art direction.

Ah, well, you win some, you lose I suppose, haha.
Regardless, thanks for the feedback!

I'm gonna say I don't have an issue with Shun having glasses. Though I will say maybe consider switching them to square frames and dark colored? That would more compliment his face.
I do object to him getting fashionable trunks. Shun totally wears whatever his parents' buy him and they're probably tighty whities.

Shun's new look I don't mind so much. Actually gives him a little extra "cute nerd" appeal.
I myself much prefer the "release 1" version of Torahiko. He looked a little skinny before sure (which could likely be due to him becoming a swimmer, they burn off a lot of energy), but now he looks dangerously unhealthy.
Was that intentional?

Oh wow I'm liking the updated sprites.
The previous version of Torahiko was straight up unsettling, his eyes were like a demon trying to devour your soul or something, so I'm glad you guys fixed his eyes, looks much more friendly now.
The new Shun sprite actually really surprised me, it fits him well. His previous version was too much "nothing personnel" vibe, so I'm glad he doesn't look...uninterested(?) anymore. Love the new sprite.
Didn't notice anything different with Kounosuke, but he was one of the few changed sprites that I didn't mind from the beginning, and I still feel that way.
Now I only have 2 major art concerns:
1) Torahiko's waist looks a bit weird, could use some tweaking. or maybe its just the shirt that unnaturally bends inwards.
2) I personally dislike Juuchi's sprite, it's a bit too different from his original I feel, I think he should be very slightly rounder than he currently is, so I'm hoping he's next in line from sprite updates.
* Also I don't really like the new main character's looks, but it's really difficult to pinpoint why so I won't count it, maybe I just need more time to get used to it.
Overall, the sprite updates really surprised me with how good they were. I'm really excited for when the emotes for each character gets ready! Keep up the good work!

To answer your concerns, regarding Torahiko's waist, it's most likely the shirt. His waist looks sexy when he's in his speedo. ;) Regarding Juuichi, however, I've found him to be one of my favourite sprite changes. He looks even more gruff than his original, which fits in with the whole "People always think he's in a constant bad mood" vibe we have going in the story. Not to mention, I believe we're attempting to make him look a bit more built, instead of just "lolfatxD". I think Nova did a great job with him.
Hiroyuki may have some slight changes made to his look, since at the moment, all we really have for him is a profile face and some concept art. We may add more features, as it's still quite a wip. As we get the characters' full looks fleshed out, we'll probably begin working on the CGs, which is where you'll be able to see full sized Hiroyuki.
Try and keep an open mind. :)

I see, thanks for the detailed reply, I can definitely see your reasoning behind the changes and I respect that.

Ooh, a new update. Nice! :3
Though, I can't help but feel that there's something off with the main character's hair.
Like it is somewhat unsettling and doesn't suit him at all.
Either that or it's just me.

We've made some edits to Hiroyuki's text box face, it should be ready for the next update.
I'm digging the sprite redesigns, and I'm ESPECIALLY THANKFUL that the creep factor is being taken out of Shun's route. That was my biggest complaint about the original Morenatsu.
The new headshots in the dialogue box are a little distracting, especially if one of the characters is standing to the right of the screen.
The writing continues to be excellent, and makes me really excited to see where you take the stories.
Keep up the great work!

Totally new to this remake, so please don't mind me asking something you've probably established many times, but will the sprites switch to show how they feel, like in the original?
They will indeed. For the moment, we've really just been focused on the default sprites, but as time passes, we will be also getting to work on the emotive sprites.
Shun with glasses was the best thing, now I don't feel like I'm trying to date a kid, and more like a college student with hight issues. Which is more common than you think
I just started last night and I'm loving the warm, nostalgic feeling of it all. I've run into a few unfinished parts and I'm excited to see what you add next! I'm especially happy that the adorable Shun isn't pedobait anymore and I'm looking forward to his route's completion. Which routes *are* finished, by the way?
Oh derp, it's still very much in the Demo phase. This means I get to watch your progress
Heheh, glad you're liking the direction we're going with him. We hope you continue to enjoy what we produce. :)
I was happy when I found out there are team who work to continue my favorite visual novel ( Morenatsu) after years waiting for someone to continue the Project .
But it disappoint me when I found you change Hiroyuki from Human to Anthro , one the reason I like the Visual Novel was the it’s involved Human/Anthro Romance.
It also make feel sad to know there no plans to change species options

Hello!
This game came to my mind today all of a sudden. The original one, I mean.
Then I came across your project. I'd love to "revisit" these guys. What is the difference between the Revisited and the Homecoming version?
Should I just play the Homecoming one?

Homecoming is an updated version of Revisited, though since it's being recoded from scratch it it considerably further behind than Revisited. In Homecoming, you're only able to go up to day 7, whereas in Revisited you can get to the endings of three routes (Shin, Tatsuki, Juuichi).
How are things progressing? I'm super excited to see the rest of the story. You've got me really invested in Hiroyuki and his story (which is a massive improvement since I was indifferent to him in the original) I'm curious though, are you going to keep the bad endings (namely Juuichi and Shin's) or are you going to scrap them given they would be extremely OOC for Hiroyuki in the current story. Also will Hiroyuki's grandparents ever get their own sprites? But loving the game so far and can't wait to see the rest of it! You're doing a great job.
Hey there, glad to see you excited for the story and in Hiroyuki!
When it comes to the bad endings, the plan is to scrap them, as they don't really fit the story anymore, and as for Hiroyuki's parents, it depends on our artists and their workloads. Hopefully, they'll both get their own sprites!
Thanks for checking the game out! ^^

Hello!
Wow, I'm really excited for the final release, I just payed the previous Revisited game and I loved it. I admit when I saw Shun's redesign I thought for a moment that you were going to do a sequel
Now only Kouya and Ten remain... I can't wait to see my wolf husbando.
I was surprised for Hiroyuki's redesign at first but I got used to it really fast, I was just thinking how Hiroyuki would look like as a beastman. But can we add our names like usual or the real name will stay?
But I have another question: are there some things in the original game you see as incomplete that you want to fix? I'm really grateful for the Ten route you gave us but is there other holes you want to fix (of course there is Torahiko's route)?

Hi there. Glad you're enjoying what we've come up with so far. Please let me clarify a couple of things for you.
1. Ten's route was something I created as a sort of fan route, to showcase what could be done. It was to coincide with the release of the Revisited source code. Due to this, we will not be making Ten a romance option in Homecoming. However, we will be salvaging several elements from his Revisited route, and using them in Homecoming.
2. Hiroyuki's redesign as a kemono is something that can take a while to get used to. I'm glad that you were able to adjust to the change relatively quickly. Unfortunately, we will not be allowing his name to be chosen. Many visual novels that have a self-insert as the main character often have problems with consistency, and the original Morenatsu was no exception. As a way to give him a more consistent and believable personality, we decided it was for the best to have Hiroyuki as an actual established character, similar to how projects like Lagoon Lounge and Echo have an established character as the protagonist.
3. A huge change we'd like to make is to how Kounosuke's route is portrayed. In the original game, he had the least known backstory, and was portrayed more as the comic relief. His events were drastically downplayed, and he seemed more like a friend with benefits type than a meaningful love interest. He was handled extremely poorly in the original game, due to the developers not really liking him, and his route was rushed. To contrast this, we endeavour to give him a meaningful story. While I can't reveal what events will be taking place during his route, rest assured that he has been vastly improved, and his new route is very well written. Additionally, Kouya had some consistency issues in the original game, something we are working to remedy.
I hope this information is to your understanding, and look forward to hearing your feedback. :)

Ah I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought something was missing in Kounosuke's route I couldn't get what it was but when I already did other characters I felt something different.
As for the Ten route, I won't deny I'm a bit disappointed to know we won't have him as a romantic option in Homecoming, but I'm willing to go along with your choices, after all it's thanks to you I came to love Morenatsu and to be able to play the game. Believe me unlike Nekojishi it was almost impossible to play the original Morentasu until the Revisited version came out because my computer is a Mac . The main reason why I really liked Ten's route is because of how deep Hiroyuki's life went from the day when everything went wrong (I'm trying no to spoil to those who didn't do this route) to the ending, and to be honest it was like the canonical ending. There I really thought about a winter sequel
As for the other routes where you already made somes changes in the Revisited version, are you going to leave them untouched or are you planning little changes to avoid some deja-vu for those who already played the game? I don't really mind that I'm just so curious I can't help asking. ^^"

I'm glad you liked Ten's route. Ten has always been my favourite character in Morenatsu, due to his stoic personality. He had such an air of mystery about that, but ultimately had a great sense of honour. He's the perfect mate for me. :P
As far as route content goes, while I can't say much, I can say that all routes have had things spruced up a bit since Revisited, so you can expect to have a much more immersive experience. Additionally, Revisited still followed the original Morenatsu formula, where you make one selection per day. However, in Homecoming, there are multiple events you can participate in, so it feels less like Hiroyuki is only spending time with one person. This way, you get to learn more about each character.

I really love all the changes you guys decide to implement. Especially that there are multiple events each day now, so you get to spend time with everyone.
If you don't mind me asking: Are you planning to keep structuring the days that way, even after starting a dating path? I mean, I understand why the game was focusing on the loveinterest, but I also found it a bit of a pity, that the rest of Hiroyuki's friends kinda stop existing after the second week and events like Kouyas concert or the farewell party at Shin's Place are exclusive to their routes.

I have yet to try Homecoming, myself, but can I just say that I'm so happy this exists?? I played Morenatsu years ago and was so disappointed to learn that the story would essentially never be fully realized... but I'm so glad your team's re-imagining the universe/story while staying true to its roots.
I had no idea this was in development - I learned about it via TVTropes, of all places - but I'll be following your progress closely! :D

I like the designs but the old version of Morenatsu I like but you did a wonderful job on this one!
I have nothing against the Shun design change personally, but I feel kinda bad for the ones for whom Shun was their favorite. I get why Shun's appeal seems skeevy to most, but Morenatsu is a work of fiction with alternate routes. Honestly, I can see this kind of game being kind of ideal for that kind of indulgence to those who would be able to appreciate that option.
