And yeah, I'm gonna be posting some better quality pictures now that I'm on my Summer break. Gonna focus more on backgrounds, try to brush that up for next year. I don't need to tell you the tow a professional course takes on hobbies, y'know that already XD

Just make sure you join websites like conceptart.org and others to get critiques when starting with your backgrounds. I've been doing environments professionally for several years now and even to this day I find myself going back to said sites.

I'm strongly considering following that same line of work of yours. (Don't sue!) But university is really messing things up. I'm going for my next year, so I'll focus the next one on building portfolio (I'm working as a game illustrator for flash games. It's pretty much the best a game artist can do here in Brasil). Once I finish uni I'm all setup to start a professional course called Melies in here. they specialize in concept art and stuff, and they're actually one of the best schools in the world regarding that. So THEN I'll really attack art with claws and fangs. But for now my level's more than enough to work with flash games. I'm often offering more than the guys want, actually... XD

Yeah I think you'd probably be right on the dot as far as the level of your artwork is right now. Flash takes a bit of a different approach so you'd work well with it. Hell I haven't used flash in years.

Make sure you check potential companies in your area (incl Argentina, Uruguay, etc), as having networks in any companies you wish to work for will help you once you graduate as they'll be looking to scoop you up.

My plan for now is to go on with a company I set up with two other friends. We're gonna start producing stuff this summer. We even had this Activision hotshot give a kind of lecture/talk in our uni this week, and people asked him what he thinks would be the best way to start out a career in games here in Brasil. He pretty much described exactly what me and those other friends are doing. So we're all pretty fired up with that ^^

We're even about to sign a contract with this majour tourism website, international stuff, to supply them games for a percentage of their gains based on the amount of people who log in to our games. It's a longshot and all, but worst case scenario I have games produced for a majour international website, so it's kind of a win/win scenario.
