The Ramen Stand
The path went on endlessly, it seemed, through the tall dark woods, like in a dream. A light drizzle rained down, bringing with the noises of a rain-drenched forest during a gentle spring day. The sky was overcast and dim, the leafy tops of the great trees shivering lightly in the breeze. However, in the distance, a light stood out of the woods, and as one got closer, voices materialized, cheerful and boisterous. As one walked closer, the air above them became lined with red paper lanterns, all lazily winding to their heart, a small, simple ramen stall, sitting alone, seemingly eons from any semblance of civilization.
The small band gathered around this stand was almost as bizarre as the stand itself. On one end stood a squirrel, dressed in a more medieval, fantastical style of rogue attire. On the other was a mouse like creature with a long tail, wearing something more akin to a space-age outfit and rather high tech looking googles. Finally, behind the counter itself, was a black, red and white snake of rather impressive size, apparently both the chef and owner of the humble establishment. As you near, the serpent waves to you with his tail, inviting you to the only warm and comforting looking spot in this otherwise unsettling and mysterious wood, and the food smells absolutely delicious.

This picture, is a very very important one to me. While i get lots of commissions and make lots of characters, ive never really invested a lot of my money into trusting an artist [or in this case two artists] to basically... pull a image out of my mind directly and bring it to paper. That's what this picture is.
I've always had a overly active imagination, and it's almost impossible to explain the kinds of worlds i envision that these characters inhabit, but this image here is one that has always stuck in my mind even since Amatsu joined my roster. A strange, seemingly impossible ramen stand, sitting deep in the woods, miles away from civilization, serving patrons from worlds, sometimes even dimensions, apart. It's a way for me to bring characters together that shouldn't ever have interacted in the first place, and even bringing two different versions of the same character together. Think of it like a mental exercise in creativity, putting X and X next to each other with some amazing food and see what they talk about. Its a lot of fun, and by doing this, the Ramen Stand in the Woods has sort of became a way-station for everything i do creatively.
As for why i picked these three, well these guys are my favorites. Katauni and Finn have been there since the beginning and they mean more to me than you might think. I've built so much around them and seen them grow in my mind like a show only i can watch, so in a way it's like they are family. Amatsu came in recently, a beautiful snake i bought from my good friend Maikasuke, but i connected with him instantly and hes already become an integral part to my lore. After all, he runs that magical ramen stand that I've come to use to spark my own imagination when things grow stale.
I suppose, in a way, this is me showing you all what the inside of my mind looks like. There's a lot of grayness there, a lot of uncertainty and even fear, but I've found a way to light it up for myself, even if I can't reach every corner. Even when making things better seems impossible, there's always hope. Sparks of light you have a chance to grab and turn into a fire. For me, those sparks came in the form of two games: The Beginners Guide and The Unfinished Swan. For you it could be anything, just know that as long as you draw breathe there is ALWAYS a chance for things to get better.
As for the amazing artists behind this art, the truly breathtaking background drawn here, including the stand itself, was done by Mizu, who you can find here: https://twitter.com/Mizu_wolf
This guy is astounding, and they even do commissions! I can't recommend them enough if you like landscape or background art like this.
Secondly, the characters here were done by Blitzdrachin who you've seen here before. She set up the whole pic including getting Mizu to the background, and of course did Finn, Katauni and Amatsu herself. She draws incredible stuff and streams a lot on Twitch, and she's been an awesome person as long as i've known her so really go give her some love!
As usual, all three characters, Finn Katauni and Amatsu, belong to me. Feel free to use this as a background if you like it, I know i certainly will be ^^
Thank you all for following me and enjoying the things i commission, and I hope you enjoy this pic ^^

this piece is honestly astounding, and reading through the description was quite interesting, in how some of it I Can relate to.
Amatsu's ramen shop surely has a scenic view! The kind close to nature is so relaxing ❤️💙
what a wonderful piece! this really captures an aura of fantastical surreality in such a beautiful way. fantastic!
Heh thank you ^^ The artists did an amazing job with it!

Lol you got me crushin on this slithery boi~
don't worry im sure he'll be there soon hehe ^^
A true great combination, two completely different worlds, as if they were two water droplets of different colors, being able, in some way, to interact and spend time with a great ramen by the cute noodle.
I have some characters that I have in my mind and some of them have already been drawn, where each one has a specific story and some are also based on stories I've seen and read.
The world of Imagination is really beautiful
Nice commission dude i really love it!

yup very much so the place looks inviting a well like you can just walk right up and get a good meal
Nothing like having a place where you can bend the rules a little and have anyone meet where all the paths cross. ^^
And I know you mentioned that there's fear and uncertainty there, but if you don't mind me saying, a little mystery can be good and not all surprises are frightening. I know it's kind of obvious, but I think it's worth saying.
Also have to say, your snake seems like he'd be a incredibly nice host for a place like that. (I can't think of a better term.) Especially with the kind of visitors like we can already see here.
