So there's actually an interesting story behind Aleena's creation; she's an Orca Shark hybrid. Why? Well, I was drawing her to be a shark, I'd gotten MOST of the detailing down, then it hit me: Sharks don't have boobies! Yeah, I know, but stop your objecting a second and I'll explain! ;P
So, as we know, sharks are fish right? Fish lay eggs, therefore they have no need to suckle their young. No need to suckle their younge means no teats, no teats means no tits. BUT, I had already drawn them, and I didn't think I could correct the drawing and have it look right, so I changed her species. So she now has the tail fin and markings of an Orca, with a few shark markings as well as generally shark features. In order to explain this I decided that her mommy and daddy had mixed the gene pool. That sort of thing wouldn't be uncommon if you look around the sight enough, honestly, I'm surprised that there's not more creative hybrids around (unless I'm missing something...).
The only other thing of note about Aleena is that she doesn't have any gills, which means no underwater breathing for her! (Fun fact: she NEARLY ended up with shark markings that were bright blue and glowing, instead of dark grey). She also looks a lot like another character I have in the back of my mind, only 'Mala' as I seem to be calling her, is a pure Orca and likely an ancestor of Aleena.
