It was one thing to get a power core that would help with the prosthetic parts of its body, like increased strength or faster movement for them. It was an entirely different thing to find out that it was using some type of energy that, while powerful, meant that whoever was exposed to it would find their stature diminishing with each second. That's what this protogen was currently experiencing, ears flattened as they looked up to the mountainous stack of the smallest form of currency there was, just moments ago been tall enough to peek its head over them, and before that, managed to finish integrating the core into itself at a normal size. Each second they watched meant that the stack was getting larger and much more imposing, its sight starting to blur when trying to look at the colossal glass that was off to the side.
This was not good, not good at all, and the only tools it had were on the very same surface but far too huge to even use, resulting in the protogen being forced to endure this. It was so worried that it somehow didn't notice that its friend had returned, not hearing his call outs since they were so deep, only noticing when something slammed down onto its spot and easily flattened it onto its front. A yell came out from the dwindling proto as they tried to move, eventually gaining movement thanks to their shrinkage, only to find themselves standing among a rather red environment. It would only take a moment for the confusion to wear off, remembering a wound that their partner was recovering from on their hand, and the protogen had the misfortune of having it come down right on top of them. The up-close view of the internals of a wound wouldn't last long, as their sudden impact against it had partially reopened it, their stature having diminished enough that the blood stream past the organic 'net' was like a torrent for them, eventually being pulled up into it.
The first few moments was just bouncing around and twisting around at a dizzying rate before landing on something squishy. A quick glance would show it to be a single red blood cell, as large as the protogen yet continuing to get larger still. It went from being a surprisingly comfy seat, to a bed, then eventually having to grab onto the edge of the blood cell just to not get swept off at how figuratively fast it was going for them. Even with claws, their grip wouldn't last and eventually flew off of the cell, bouncing from others trying to rush past before landing squarely in the middle of one, dazed from the impacts despite the cushioning of each blow. It wasn't until half a minute later that the protogen regained their senses, sitting up from their spot only to tumble slightly.
A yell came from them before having to grab hold of something, taking a moment to piece together on how much smaller it had gotten. Looking at whatever it grabbed, it would see some thin strand-like object, obviously getting larger as they continued to shrink down, its form eventually coming into view; A single strand of DNA, the genetic building material for any creature, and it was steadily looking like a twisted ladder to the protogen with each second. Not having a choice, they grabbed onto one 'peg' of it, feeling it sink slightly from its weight onto it only to steadily revert back as the weight on it diminished, soon managing to hoist itself onto said peg and look out. The view was still rather red since it was among a blood cell, but as far as it could see, there were many, many more strands of it off in the distance, looking ever larger as the protogen stood in its spot. From having barely any space to stand on to having a wide hallway's worth of space, the view would continue to change as it continued to 'grow', eventually fading out entirely as weightlessness started to take over.
Microscopic organic creatures whizzed by the visor of the cybernetic creatures before eventually clearing up to a more white-colored space, still having a hint of red for where it was at. More things started to stand out for it, being entire clusters of some type of object that had even smaller orbs circling around them. Atoms now, and they were steadily looking larger as the protogen neared their size. Curiosity would grab hold and they reached out to grab hold of one of them, or at least tried to, watching with awe instead of worry for the moment as the atom group before it hovered between its hands, occasionally having to jolt one of them away when an electron smacked into its hand, but otherwise didn't mind it too much when the group was starting to match its size, then become larger. Its enjoyment wasn't forever though, having all the air taken out of them when one of the orbiting electrons smacked right into its back and sent the miniscule protogen spinning downward towards the atom cluster. The impact must have done something since it could see everything surge larger at an even faster rate, realizing that the hit had somehow made the prototype power core much more potent, resulting in the faster shrinkage.

So...I maaaaaay have gone a little overboard with use of the protogen, and just kept making it smaller...and smaller...and smaller...and then it turned into a full-blown sequence of the critter shrinking to quite the extreme sizes past the first two frames. This is the first of five parts, and only getting started of sorts. DA had a bit of a head start with this, so the parts will be uploaded each day until synced up, in which after the uploads will be once every other day.
Note: I am aware of the possibility that the maker of the protogen model probably won't like it being used outside of its intended use as a Gmod playermodel, but I am willing to keep only a single iteration of the model past this rather impromptu sequence, since while I said I was gonna work on its textures and such to the final design, the temptation of doing a number of renders with the current model overcame my common sense to do what I initially planned on doing and ended up doing not only this sequence, but also several renders past it. I will hold to my word that I will not do any alterations to the model's mesh other than weight paint and rig tuning, not do renders of anyone else's protogens with this serving as the base, nor will I pass the model on to others, unless I get permission to do such.

*At science class*
Teacher: And here we have a microscope to see small objects more clearly, give it a go class.
Random Student: Huh? Teacher!, there is a person in this glass plate!
*The teacher rolls his/her eyes as he watches the class get curious and goes to the student's microscope....at the same time the protogen decides to get smaller to nanoscopic level....which made the whole class give the student a mean look*
Teacher: Very funny junior, please come to my office after class.

I can't help but note that red blood cells have no nucleuses and thus don't make DNA molecules in them.
Mweh, they were simple props, so wasn't aiming for accuracy.
