The weather was miserable. A constant downpour of heavy rain showered the small town. Excess water gushed down the streets, its path guided by the cracks and crevices in the cobblestones of the roads. Each step Danathius took was accompanied by a loud splosh, and he could feel the water soaking into the interiors of his boots, making his feet soggy. Grumbling to himself, he continued to look around for a building in which he could escape for a few hours, if only to avoid the foul weather. He spotted one such establishment -- a pub! A perfectly fine place to get warm and dry! Making haste, the human mage entered the tavern, and he slowly meandered up to the bar. He sat himself down on a stool, and ordered a nice cup of hot tea: the perfect drink to warm his innards on this cold and dreary day. He even ordered a small meal -- a single helping of the meatloaf!
While eating his food and drinking his beverage, Danathius paged through his research journal. He had taken notes on an experiment an associate of his had performed, and he wished to review them in the comfort of the tavern. With a solid roof above him, and no chance of a leak springing any time soon, his precious paper was well protected from the devastating effects of rain smearing his ink. But just as he was about to turn the page, he happened to glance up: something had caught his eye, and it had distracted him from his journal. Walking around the tavern was a dragon: a two-legged, anthropomorphic dragon. A rather handsome specimen, Danathius had to admit to himself. Tall and muscular and thick, the creature's body had the physique of an ancient god. The blood in Danathius's veins rain cold, and his heart skipped a beat. The breath in his lungs froze, until the mage reminded himself to breathe. Warm bubbled up to the surface of his cheeks, and recognizing that he was blushing, Danathius quickly raised his journal to hide his face.
"Fancy him, do ya," a barmaid ribbed while whispering to the mage, "don't blame ya. Handsome bloke, Ader is." Danathius blinked, and slowly lowered his journal, to make eye contact with the fox woman talking to him.
"You know who he is," Danathius asked, confused.
"'Course! He's my boss! He runs this fine establishment," the vulpine waitress smiled toothily and winked. "He meets patrons, ya know. I can arrange for you to meet 'im. Just order the house special."
"I thought the meatloaf was the special," Danathius arched an eyebrow.
"Nope! Just slip me the ten gold pieces, and I'll arrange everything else. Just be sure to drink what I bring back... Don't want to go in all unprepared, right," the barmaid extended her hand, palm outstretched an awaiting payment. Danathius quickly fished for the currency in his coinpurse and jammed them into the waitress's furred hand. Sure enough, she soon returned with a fizzy drink. Danathius sniffed it, and eyed the concoction suspiciously. It wasn't alcoholic, and after the cast of a quick detection spell, it wasn't poisoned. With a shrug, the mage gulped the liquid down quickly. Oddly enough, the liquid tasted like grape juice, which was a pleasant surprise. The fizz tickled his throat pleasantly, and the human couldn't help but let out a little giggle. That tickling, tingling sensation crept its way into his belly, and soon, it began to spread throughout his body. Danathius knew the effects of magic well, and this reeked of magic! Before he could even stand up, however, a sensation of vertigo overtook the mage. He wobbled in place, and fell from his stool. But before he even hit the ground, he blacked out.
Danathius awoke, and found himself in complete darkness. The ground was cold and hard beneath of him, and it felt odd...almost metallic.
"Got another patron who wanted to meet ya, boss," boomed a familiar voice. It was that of the vulpine waitress's from before. Her voice was muffled, but it seemed to reverberate off of the very walls of whatever prison in which Danathius found himself.
"Good, good," a thundering, sonorous voice replied, "I was just getting hungry." The entire ground quaked beneath of Danathius, and then everything grew still. A rhythmic series of loud thumps rocked the floor again, before the sound of a wooden door opening and closing emanated from beyond the walls of the mage's prison.
A sharp, metallic ding caused Danathius to wince, but not as much when light flooded the mage's vision, obliterating the darkness around the human. The mage clenched his eyes shut, but slowly, his eyes became less sensitive, and he finally opened them.
The handsome dragon, Ader, was seated before him, looming and impossibly large. Danathius gasped, and glanced down to find himself situated upon a serving dish.
"You look confused," the dragon mused, smirking toothily at the tiny human, "but don't worry. You and I? We're about to get very acquainted with one another." A glint of hunger was lurking behind the dragon's eyes, and his thick tongue licked across his scaled lips.
"What? But I... Wait," Danathius cried out, eyes growing wide; he was paralyzed in sheer terror! He could only watch in horror as Ader's massive hand reached for him and delicately plunked him up off of the plate. Cold air rushed around Danathius's body as he was lifted up to meet the dragon's muzzle. Those jaws parted slightly, and hot breath cut through the cool air, roiling around the mage.
"Farewell, snack," Ader guffawed before casually flicking the human into his jaws. Danathius landed on the dragon's tongue with a thick splat, sinking into the wet, pliant muscle. It undulated with life beneath of him as the dragon's jaws snapped shut, locking the human inside of Ader's mouth. The oral appendage swished the human around, toying with him as though he were a peace of candy. The dragon's joyous rumbles let the human know how much he enjoyed his little morsel.
Faint rays of light filtered in between the dragon's teeth and lips, briefly illuminating the insides of those cavernous jaws. The pink flesh glistened and quivered around the human, squelching noisily as saliva oozed down the innards of the dragon's mouth. In the back of the dragon's jaws, the gullet loomed -- that rimmed pit quivering rhythmically and patiently, waiting for a scrap of food to be sent its way. A large, bulbous uvula dangled over the dark pit, and as Ader tilted his head back, Danathius dared to jump from the tongue to the hanging ball of flesh. He gripped the uvula tightly -- it was his savior! Surely, this perplexing piece of anatomy would be his bastion from the looming esophagus below!
GLRK
In a swift motion, the tongue surged upward, and the uvula actually dipped downward when a loud, squelch of air echoed around Danathius. Ader swallowed, and it was enough to dislodge the poor mage from his uvula. The slick, throat walls immediately clenched down tightly upon Danathius, squeezing him in a wet, warm and slimy hug! The human squeaked in surprise, but no amount of struggling would save him now. The esophagus pushed and pulled on the little morsel, and peristaltic processes forced the poor mage deeper and deeper into Ader's body.
A lump in the dragon's throat slowly moved toward his chest, and the dragon sighed. He loved it when patrons wanted to meet him. And he especially loved it when they were humans. So utterly tasty...

marcfox's Ader had my eye as soon as he was unveiled to me, and I had to get art with this gorgeous hunk of a dragon. He's perfect. <3 And because titanleon did such amazing work, I'm hoping to continue this in the future. 👀
