Paper Mario: The Invincible Tubba Blubba
On my quest to do every boss theme from the original Paper Mario on the N64, comes honestly one of the more memorable bosses for me.
Chapter 3 of Paper Mario on the N64 was as much of a horror chapter as they could manage with everything made of paper. The mission has you going to a town of Boos being terrorized by a Spike named Tubba Blubba, who up until now had been the target of a lot of torment from relatively harmless Boos. It was so easy to bully him because he was weak, jumpy, and scared of everything.
However, through the power of the Star Rod, Bowser removed Tubba Blubba's heart, making him not only unbeatable, but it also removed all of his fear from the Boos, and he started to eat them. The chapter has Mario sneaking around, trying not to be spotted by a boss that is legitimately unbeatable, even with hacks, until he finds Tubba's heart. Tubba reunites with his heart, and becomes mortal again, which allows him to be beaten.
Chapter 3 is likely my favorite from this game, but it doesn't beat the Glitz Pit from Thousand Year Door... Or almost any of the later chapters in Thousand Year Door in retrospect. Hm. Maybe Paper Mario is a better franchise than people give it credit for? Regardless, the soundtrack is iconic, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Oh boy! I had completely forgotten how nice this cover was. Maybe this is one of those cases, where you have to hear the original first, before you're fully able to appreciate the cover. And just like Chapter 3, I enjoyed this one from beginning to end. :)
I was somewhat surprised to hear the violin as the main instrument, since I somehow remembered this cover without the violin from all the times I listened to your Paper Mario 64 Boss Cover Pack. But after coming back to this cover thanks to playing Paper Mario, I gotta say that I really like the violin as the lead instrument. The violin gives the cover a slightly gloomy and somewhat somber feel, which is super fitting for a horror themed chapter like this one.
Another thing I would like to give special mention to is also that little sound you included at 0:24, 0:25, 0:28 and 0:30 of your cover. It's only hearable on my right headphone I'm not sure if it's from a rattle or a different instrument but I appreciate it nonetheless, because it adds some nice acoustic flavor to your cover. I also like the sound of the drums and the part from 0:16 to 0:33, since it evokes a nice, gloomy atmosphere. Which -as mentioned previously- matches the atmosphere of the chapter quite nicely. Well done! ^_^

Speaking of enjoying something from beginning to end: Wow what an amazing chapter this was! I can easily see why this is your favorite chapter of Paper Mario 64, Aliyah. This one was simply outstanding!
The chapter already starts exceptionally strong by treating you to a dark, spooky forest and a beautiful haunted mansion full of Boos-a true delight for a fan of oldschool horror-movies like me. ^^ The mansion in particular was so great that I'm not sure if anything else in the game will be able to top it. It was easily the prettiest location so far, had the best puzzles and the funniest NPC interactions, thanks to a colorful and hilarious cast of Boos. And to top it all off, it also introduces you to the best party member in Paper Mario: The ever lovable and ever sassy Lady Bow. God I love Bow! <3 Her headstrong, snooty personality was an instant highlight of this chapter and her Outta Sight-Ability was the most useful battle move in the entire game thus far. Furthermore, she also BITCHSLAPS THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR ENEMIES and has the funniest sprites of all the party members. Seriously, just looking at her hilarious victory laugh is enough to make me giggle. XD (Her Spook sprite is quite funny as well.)

Anyhow: Once you're done laughing about Bow, you cross a dead, desolate landscape and arrive at a literal ghost town, whose ghostly residents all seem to be terrified of a monster called Tubba Blubba. Who's... eating Boos... 0.0 And just like that the chapter just got 10 times creepier. You then hear a heavy rumbling in the distance. Uh oh! What could it be?! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Tubba Blubba himself, ready to vore some Boos! And suddenly I can no longer tell, if this is Paper Mario or a horror game. Tubba then grabs a Boo and...

HE EATS HIM! D: Holy shit, he actually vored that Boo! 0.0 That Boo is fucking dead. Or well... DeadER I guess. All jokes aside though, Tubba Blubbas introduction was astonishingly well made and went far above everything that I had expected. The buildup to Tubba Blubba was genuinely terrifying and when he ate that Boo, I was seriously scared of him. Which was something I NEVER would have expected out of a game like Paper Mario. And seeing that Tubba Blubba genuinely vores Boos also served as an excellent motivation to beat him.
So off we go, straight to Tubba's castle to find his weak point and teach him a hefty lesson! Nobody vores Boos in the presence of Mario! Speaking of Tubba's castle: Wow, look at that! Another really enjoyable location with amazing puzzles and a cool gimmick. This chapter sure has a lot of those! I wasn't expecting a stealth section when going into this but I gotta say I really ended up liking it. :) Sneaking through the castle, while using Bow to turn invisible was a blast and Tubba Blubba was a seriously effective looming threat. So effective, that I immediately bailed and ran straight away when I saw him.
Regrettably, old Tubba Blubba lost a lot of his threat factor shortly after. There is a scene where he chases you through the castle after you find his secret and sadly this scene turns him into a complete joke. Because unfortunately for Tubba, his AI isn't that great and his running speed not that fast, which allows you to troll the living fuck out of him. No joke, you can literally run circles around him and he won't be able to catch you. You can also spin past him when he's chasing you in the hallways, while screaming: "Later nerd! >:D" for several minutes and he won't be able to touch you either. There's even a spot in Tubba's hallway where you can simply stand behind a piece of debris, which will result in him getting stuck and run in place forever. And since I was still mad at Tubba for eating that Boo, I ended up trolling him for almost half an hour. Which resulted in me laughing for several minutes and loving this section even more. ^^ Though granted, you normally wouldn't even think about doing something so silly and stupid unless you're a dummy like me. ;D
After this unintentionally hilarious part, you go on to fight Tubba's heart and smack the crap out of it with Bows ghostly slaps of doom. The heart then runs away -coward!- and reunites with Tubba Blubba, who boasts that he's even stronger now. Oho, this wasn't even his final form! Perfect! Let's go Tubba, this will be a battle for the ages! Here we goooo!!! Aaaaand then you murder him first turn with the Power Bounce and a well timed bitchslap by Lady Bow. That was anticlimactic...
Oh well I guess it makes sense for his character and at least he spits all the Boos out. I genuinely thought they were dead(er), so it seems everything turned out better than expected. You also learn that Tubba Blubba is actually very sensitive and only ate the Boos because they were bullying him. Yikes! Now I'm suddenly feeling guilty for trolling him so hard earlier. I thought he was just some random douchebag, who vored Boos for a living, so I had no problem with trolling him. But hearing that he was initially the victim really makes me question myself. Am I the bad guy?
Whatever the answer may be, one thing's certain: I loved this chapter! <3 Awesome locations, cool puzzles, a surprisingly well made stealth section, Boo vore, moral concerns at the end and a bitchslapping ghost-lady! This chapter has it all! :D
