Sandy is best "Snappy Answers To Stupid Questions".
And I admire the lad's spunk and enthusiasm. Sandy really SHOULD give him a "Hero's Reward" at some point.

Okay, Sandy. You've changed your story THREE times already. Now, out with it. The truth, the real truth, this time.
Every time I see a new page, I have a new, temporary, favorite character. Today's is Sandy. Yesterday was Koz. I can hardly wait for Monday to see who'll be my favorite that day.

:)
The truth is the story about spying on the Generals and getting sent away by Keela. The other parts are just Sandy being her usual snarky self.
Under-the-hood: I was originally going to have her saying "I don't remember the rest--we went out bar-hopping and I got pretty hammered. I guess he carried me home..." But it didn't flow right. It made Sandy a little sluttier than I wanted her to be. Plus I realized that they are in the Palace compound, and to go bar-hopping they'd have to travel down into Kiyanti town, then back again.
So that line became a snappy answer to a stupid question instead, where it's much funnier, IMHO.

Not as funny as your discripton.
A hunting we will go...
A humping we will go...
Hi-hoe the married-oh....
I'm not singing this right, am I?

I also love what Koz says in the third panel. "Then, I can shoot 'em?" I know I've heard that line/exchange somewhere before. I loved it then and I love it now.
Sandy's being her usual snarky self but, I think she knows how to push Kathy's buttons and she's just seeing how long it takes before Kathy figures out what she's doing. Of course, Fred pulling Koz into the room by his ear seems to help Sandy's story.
BTW, I love the Maim Six reference. LOL.

Fred's not too happy about running into Koz exiting the suite half-dressed in the same clothes he was wearing last night...
Ph sure. When it's Fred himself that's fine. But when it's Koz, suddenly it's a bad thing.
Well, Fred IS supposed to marry Kathy. Koz, basically, is a horndog with a reputation.
Isn't Fred not allowed to screw her until they're married? Despite the contract's other meanings it is used against him as a weapon sometimes.
He's not allowed to have sex before marriage. And he does at least change his uniform.
He was in fact going to tell the girls the Duchess wants to see them, and ran into Koz on clearly "unoffcial" business.
It will be explained next week.

I need to spy on the two most dangerous individuals in Kiyanti. Let me just bring the most trigger happy soldier Fred has in his platoon! Clearly Sandy is thinking on her toes. Also, kinda hurts?
Crocutan social order dictates who can order whom around. Fred outranks Koz. Koz can't tell him "Let go of my ear, Squirt, or I'll feed you to the trash compactor!" but he can politely mention "Pulling my ear like that is sort of uncomfortable for me, Sir."
