"These augmentations often take the form of replacement limbs and organs, mostly fitted in response to debility or critical injury. Some, however, choose to be fitted with extensive cybernetic augmentations voluntarily, since the replacement limbs are both usually superior in function to the organic counterpart and less critical to survival in case of injury. Some even go so far as to receive full-body prosthetics, essentially reducing the individual to little more than a brain in an artificial casing riding a mechanized body."

I am well aware of the canonical lore of the avali where cyborg avali can be almost indistinguishable from organic avali, although I wanted to do a take of what an avali would look like if it was externally robotic. I referenced a ton of official artwork of the avali to try to get this concept as close as I personally could envision it to canon. Although what I invisioned may not be what the creator of the avali had in mind. Speaking of which:
The Avali are owned by
RyuujinZERO
They are a fictional species originally created on Spore but blew up in popularity upon the creation of a Starbound mod.
So let's get into what concepts I pulled to try to make this.
First off the head shape is an altered concept of an official tactical helmet design on the wiki. Although in this case, eyes were added for personality and a display added above the top of where the muzzle would be. I decided to replace the ears with heat sinks, as it would be of most importance to keep the head as cool as possible for the organic brain inside being used to below freezing temperatures. The heat sinks are a mixture of the ear armor shape of the original tactical helmet and the space ship heat sinks, which does mean the heat sinks can open up to release built up heat. The strange cords coming out from behind the head with a crystal on tip is a reference to one of the avali plumage options in official artwork. The avali are known for using complicated materials like graphene and carbon fiber for their technology so underneath the plated armor is a combination of the two as a body glove. This body glove hides the inner workings of the cyborg body while also providing some form of protection. The plating of the armor is loosely based on canonical avali artwork, but in reality I may have made it too blocky for the avali aesthetic. The hips have attached thrusters to aid in flight which have been modified from the avali ship thrusters to instead have air intakes for flight within an atmosphere. The home moon of the avali, Avalon, has low enough gravity for organic avali to fly; so some thought about the cyborg being able to fly was given. This would explain why the tail has small wings towards the tip. It may not be obvious but where the tail connects to behind, there are avali heat sinks on both sides of the tail to hopefully collect the heat from the thrusters instead of letting the tail be melted off. Another thing the avali use in their technology is a form of aerogel which is instead a fragile but hardened crystal they use in their weaponry. This aerogel crystal is printed by their weaponry along a rail to be a very sharp but expendable blade. So the wing feathers have been replaced with these aerogel crystals, but with the printer rails actually capping off the tips to give some sort of extra stability to the crystal. This is hopefully to allow the non organic feathers to be able to cut the air and aid in flight, but I'm not a scientist. As per normal these can be ejected at any time and reprinted if visiting a friendly settlement. Granted the entire purpose of cyborg avali are to allow the switching of parts to robotic to prevent fatal injuries, so the concept is modular. There isn't really much to say rather than I deviated in places to try to make this all fit together. It may possibly not be what a canonical look would be like, but as far as I know, this is the first I have seen of an externally cyborg looking avali (probably wrong).
