The sky darkened, and the moon shone bright overhead. A dark, blood moon, an aura, spreading across the land. Creatures of all manner of size getting slowly affected as its light spread across the land. It’s origins, lay yet uncertain, its effects however, widespread. Normally docile creatures going mad, long standing alliances broken in a single night. The world became a bedrock of chaos, with adventurers, such as yourself, tasked with keeping order and trying to hold out through this long, long night.
You’ve made it, a lot further than you peers. Many have had to retreat, wounded afflicted or otherwise indisposed. But you? You’ve pushed on through, pushing yourself through the caverns of the tall volcanic mountain. Many creatures have been in your way, Skeletons, rock beasts, crystal golems, but you haven’t cared. You’ve blasted through them all, or otherwise worked your way around them. You needed to make it to the source, find the reason the top of the mountain has been smoking ash and soot into the air ever since this all started.
You strike your final blow against the guardian of the last chamber, the crystal beast falling into pieces as you push on through to the final, glowing chamber. You shield your eyes, hot, burning magma able to be seen across the way, a burning pool with billowing smoke arcing out the back of the opening of the cave. It takes you a moment to notice, but on the far end, covered in smoke, you see what looks to be, a dragoness. Anthro in form, a body you may or may not recognize. A Legendary creature by far, standing tall within the pool of magma, red glowing crystals covering on the barest of her tough scales with pockets of hard, protective rubies. She was leaning back against the rock behind her, tail softly swishing in the lava, as you try and approach, only getting a bit of the way into the heavily burning cave as you call out to her.
She gives you a look, an interested glance. Her tail swishes once more within the burning molten rock, and she asks why one such as yourself has come to her cave in this time of night.
You respond with your line of questioning, calling over, asking what all this soot and rock and ash was doing being shoved into the air. Wasn’t she your village’s ally? They offer a bit of extra protection against adventurers, She keeps the volcano from erupting?
She gave a slight laugh, and nodded, that was the agreement, and she was holding to it. But did you not see the light of the moon tonight? That had quite the ominous glow, it made her blood boil, her body itch for destruction. She rather hated that feeling, and so she summoned up all the smoke and ash with her crystals flowing within it. It made the feeling, tolerable, at best. Just a soft itch in the back of her mind instead of at the forefront.
But you call out to her none the same, the ash could end up affecting more! If she keeps it up it could contaminate the rains, block out the sun once it arrives!
But she just laughs again, so what? Would you prefer your town be decimated by a tall, voluptuous, crystal Taroth? Were you willing to take responsibility for a rampaging beast destroying everything you currently hold dear? She laughed again, stating how it would likely be better to have a few natural repercussions for a week to a month, than risk her being unable to control this, burning desire to burn everything to the ground.
You contemplate this, unsure of what to do. Your not sure if you could in fact defeat her, you’d burned through most of your reserves and resources on your way up here. And she was, despite her gorgeous features and docile nature, a legendary beast. A single misstep and you’d join a few of your friends in the realm beyond, a rampaging Taroth is not something one could easily let slide.
But, you grit your teeth, and you look back at her, eyes alight with passion and heroics. You had come here to do a job, you would see it through, you WOULD win! So you call to her once more, telling her to drop the smoke. You could handle her, you’d made it this far right?
She gave you a playful smirk at hearing that, chuckling to herself, but sighing. Her body shifts slightly, bust softly swaying with the crystals, as she seemed to ponder the idea. She then nodded, leaning back once more as the plumes of smoke began to softly subside.
She accepts your offer, if nothing else she could now blame you for the destruction of the village. But, she saw that fire in your eyes. She had a feeling, you’d make something work. She had half a mind to request you take her down right here, while she still had a mind to let you win.
But she knew as well as you that that wouldn’t really work. Without her power to control the flames the smoke wouldn’t stop rising, and neither of you wanted this to end in such a lack luster way. You both wanted to be tested, you both, wanted to see how strong the other really was. And nothing would let that happen more than an aura making this Taroth fight with every single ounce of ferocity she could muster.
As the smoke began to fade, an opening within the sky began to form, the moon casting its light fully into the now clearing up view of the cave. The Taroths crystals shined in the red light of the moon, and her scales looked smooth, yet hard and shiny as the strongest of steel, if not stronger. But you weren’t backing down, not now. Not like you really could, as her eyes shone with a glowing red fire, and she breaks out one final smirk across her lips.
The last lucid thought in her mind was that she really hopes you win, as you ready yourself, staring at the clear view of the gorgeous dragoness slowly rising to her full height within the pool, before a loud, pressure filled roar fills the chamber.
And the Ruby Taroth, stares hungrily at her knew found prey.
Dis, is another gorgeous image by the fantastic ghostli ;3; it turned out looking soooo gooood! She ended up working through a lot of new things with the magma and the crystals, but I think she did a wonderful job! Had a lot of fun writing for this one too, decided to do a second person view for it ^^ made it rather interesting and engaging! Hope you enjoyed it! As much as I enjoyed staring at this hotttttt dragoness for quite a long while >3<; *coughs* hehehe
