Since the last pic was so pretty I can't resist posting the alternate version. This one shows the path one takes up to this majestic outcropping.
It certainly must be some focal point of some ley lines or some such phenomena.

I've spent many an hour picking up old beer cans from places like this. Luckily around here there are a LOT of folks willing to do that so they stay relatively clean. That's the one good thing I can say for living in a hippie area.
Our 4x4 club once cleaned up a trail and we really did drag out entire burnt out cars... all in the name of keeping our trails open (here if there is a lot of dumping they close areas, hence a LOT of areas that were once open are now closed).

Thank you! I almost didn't post it actually. I prefer the previous one just a bit more because it removes it from its setting and the paths up to the rock. The previous one makes it look more surreal and removed from reality to me. This one provides it a base and grounds it firmly in a tangible location complete with a path so you can explore it. I was worried the two pics were too similar but since you pointed it out, I'm quite interested in the differences now since it does make them feel worlds different.
Thank you for the comment! It makes me think a lot more about what I post and what people might want. Also I might start taking multiple viewpoints of the same thing in the future. I actually took this pic to show my mom how the entire formation looked (she is a geologist). Whee, now I shall put more thought towards alternate forms of framing subject matter like this!
I'm glad you like it!

Oh wow, this is an even better shot! Such deep and lush colors. It is impossible to reproduce colors like this properly digitally or on film bu this gives us a great idea. I bet this place smells and feels so fantastic. I really want to visit this place and experience all it has to offer. Thanks so much for sharing.
