Bears have always held a special place for me in my heart. Lately especially, leading me on a journey of self discovery and healing. The more I learned about this totem animal, the more I felt that pull.
This character has been a figure in my mind for some time, taking shape in sketches and emotional outpourings on paper.
Over time, she has come to take shape for me as a character that is as close to a direct "avatar" character of myself as I have, encompassing what makes me, me, including my flaws.
Completing the trifecta of Dragon, Wolverine, and Bear as my three "sonas", each of my characters represent something very important to me.
Dragon (Wyvern) - Rhos represents my connection and love for fantasy, and serves as my "escape" from reality and self, into a world of nature and wonder. She also serves as a reminder that sometimes anger is exactly what I should be feeling, and can be the healthiest emotion to channel for my own sake instead of quell. (new ref coming soon!)
Wolverine - Firn represents and encompasses all the values and qualities I aspire to achieve within myself, and is an idealized representation. She has strong qualities of independence, self assuredness, and emotional endurance. She is my representation that inspires me to BE BETTER. (updated ref coming soon!)
Bear - Juniper is a mirror of me, for every good and every flaw I have. She is a reminder that I am leaning, I can heal, and sometimes what I am right now, is enough. She represents acceptance of self, kindness, forgiveness, introspection, empathy, and healing.

Name: Juniper AKA "June Berry"
Age: 27
Species: Brown Bear
Height: 5'
Weight: 130
Aesthetics: Nature, pine trees, pine cones, juniper berries, flannel, storms, gardening, moss, ferns
Clothes: Almost always dresses as if she were going hiking at any moment, natural colors, earth tones, nature themes, ripped jeans, hiking boots, simple nature related jewelry. Always depicted dressed if anthro.
Personality: Caring and kind but prone to bouts of reclusiveness. Fun loving and not afraid to embrace childishness! Massively in awe with nature. Is unexpectedly sassy, sarcastic, and occasionally vulgar beneath her sweet 'lil cinnamon dumpling exterior. Beneath that further, she is someone who is trying her best to be as kind and thoughtful as she can be, even when it is very hard. Working on herself, makes mistakes, and has a hard time forgiving herself. Aspires to never be a person who can't change themselves for the better and learn. Actively working on showing the people she is grateful for in her life that she cares greatly, building up her own self confidence and assuredness, building a solid and stable bedrock, and being more kick ass than yesterday. Loves your dog!

Finally submitted this after sitting on it for a very long time deciding on a name, so Happy Birthday to me!

Oh wow, I'm not usually as keen on anthro bears, but this is excellent. I love the personality details as well.
That's a lovely design and I have to say that when I saw the bear, she reminded me of you immediately.
Very real. Love how you stuck with the coarse bear fur and larger nose. It doesn’t take away from the figure at all. And that is a great outfit.
What really earned the fave though was the description. You brought out each character so clearly with a few simple descriptions, and the personal development needed to recognize how each represents a vital part of yourself was honest. It’s does my heart good to see and read.

This comment meant a lot to me, and made my heart warm on a long drive home last night. Thank you!
Beautiful! Juniper sounds like she represents some truly wonderful qualities!
"Always depicted dressed if anthro"
Oh? This implies the presence of a non-anthro form too?

Oh yeah for sure, I plan to have representations of her as a natural bear in future works and have already in a much more abstract, representational way in my recent piece Be Brave.
...just had to chip in with a comment like a month after its submitted that this character sheet is lovely. It's very natural and friendly looking, and it gives context to "Be Brave" which makes that series of images even more interesting. Glad you found yourself <3
Speaking of something completely else, I remember you left a comment way back on my old ID image (three frickin' years ago), and at this point I'm madly inspired to give it a 2020 treatment after seeing this.

Aw gosh thank you SO much! Such words are never unappreciated regardless of time frame.

Oh and if I can be selfish and ask something completely different; whu' happened with your lovely weekend streams? It was very relaxing to watch and listen to, I miss them quite a bit!

Oh I'll be back on them soon! Had a bunch of crunch projects to finish and I just couldn't keep up. Them projects be over, then I got a couple of cons, then I'm back to it!
Glad to hear! I hope the crunch wasn't too rough. Keep us posted on streams <3
Very realistic and natural. And she wears about the same thing I do when I'm off duty: jeans, Tee and flannel.
I've come to realize after meeting many bear people at conventions, its practically our uniform!
Very lovely and great look - I like to see more characters that take a spiritual path
Wow, congratulations on making progress on self-discovery. This character is beautiful and will definitely portray how beautiful of a mind and spirit you are.
