Who asked for this? Nobody asked for this. And here it is anyway!
Galar's fire-type Gym Leader Kabu does invite you to call on him for help whenever and here we have the newly-appointed young champion doing exactly that but for a very different reason than one would expect. Markus intends to find himself under the good Gym Leader's toes only to find out that he may have signed up for more than he bargained for~

Working Up a Sweat
The day was drawing to a close as Markus entered Motorstoke stadium. Not many people would come visiting at such a late hour, especially now that The Gym Challenge had already been concluded, what with Markus officially becoming the new champion and all. And even the gym’s own trainers were already packing up to go home for the day. That was exactly when Markus spotted the Gym Leader.
“Ah, Champion!” Kabu smiled at the sight of the young man and quickly jogged over. “What brings you all the way to our gym?”
“Mr. Kabu.” Markus nodded in response, pausing as the gym leader wiped his forehead with an already soaked towel and hung it over his shoulder. “There’s something may need your assistance with.”
“Of course. I did say you can call on me whenever you need help.” The older man nodded. “What can I do for you?”
Markus took a deep breath and reached for the dynamax band on his wrist. “After the whole Eternatus incident I’ve enlisted Professor Sonia’s help to study the effects of Eternatus and the Galar particles its body emits. As it turns out that under the correct circumstance dynamax bands can affect people as well.”
Kabu’s eyes widened a bit in surprise. “I-is that so? Can’t say I’ve never considered that possibility but the implications of such a discovery…” The gym leader took hold of his chin, eyes closed as he pondered for a moment.
“It’s actually quite harmless.” Markus was quick to add. “You see, Dynamax energy actually has the opposite effect on humans. It is actually why I am here.”
Kabu cocked an eyebrow at Markus. “So what is it I can help you with then?”
Markus took a deep breath and looked Kabu straight in the eye. “Mr. Kabu sir, may I hang out under your toes during you next workout?”
Bewildered, Kabu frowned. “I beg your pardon, I must have misheard you.”
Markus looked the older man straight in the eye with a serious expression. “I would like to be under your toes during your next workout, sir.”
There was a moment of silence as Kabu stared at the young man before he suddenly burst out laughing. “Ahahahah! That is an odd request, Markus, I must admit. I assume this is all for some sort of test? I must warn you though, you really wouldn’t want to spend time under my toes of all places, especially during a workout. I confess, I work up quite a bit of sweat.” A fact that was easy to confirm thanks to the fresh new coating of sweat that had already appeared on the gym leader’s forehead.
"Kabu, sir, please. I know exactly what I am getting into and I am certain that it's exactly what I want."
“Want?” The fire-type trainer’s headed tilted slightly to the side as the pieces of the puzzle finally clicked into place. “Oh…” There was a long pause before Kabu shrugged. “Well… I suppose it is a fairly simple request. Very well, champion. I shall assist you.”
“Thank you, Kabu.” Markus said, bowing respectfully. “Would you mind keeping it just between the two of us though?”
“Naturally. You can count on me, Markus.” The older man assured as he laid a hand on the young champion’s shoulder.
With a nod and a deep breath Markus took a step back and activated his Dynamax Band. Bright purple energy would course from it, enveloping the young trainer in a brilliant vortex. A moment would pass and the flurry of Galar particle would recede to reveal a highly miniaturized version of Markus.
The young man would look at the world around him from a new, frankly terrifying angle. The little champion was smaller than a Joltik, his vision framed by Kabu’s massive shoes on either side, thick red socks running up along the titan’s legs until they showed his toned thighs and shorts. Above that Markus would see a vast shirt and a pair of arms, currently holding onto towel, pulling at it slightly. And then finally Kabu’s face, his eyes directed downward, looking at the minuscule person with a puzzled expression, a single eyebrow cocked.
Markus gulped at the slightly unnerving sight. He’d open his mouth but before he even got the chance to say anything, the massive shoe in front of him began to rumble as Kabu lifted his socked foot out of it. They were bright red from the top down, making it impossible to not notice the fact that the section trapped in the shoe was far darker in color. Even from where he was Markus could feel the heat radiating from it as well as a potent smell of the gym’s locker room.
Kabu would look at the small man with an almost apologetic expression. “I did warn you, champion. This might not be the best idea. I actually sweat a lot more than one might expect. This isn't even from my workout.” The massive appendage would poise itself over Markus, covering the view of anything else above. “Are you certain you wish to go through with this?”
Markus would chuckle nervously. “I am certain. Please, Kabu.”
A relenting sigh would sound up above before the socked foot dropped down on top of the tiny champion, pinning his entire body under the gym leader’s toes. “Very well then, I shall indulge you.” And with that the toes scrunched, wrapping around Markus in a vice grip before the foot lifted up with him in tow.
As he soared through the air, Markus would hear the sock around him squelching lightly as the pressure forced sweat to dribble out, in all of its raw and potent glory. Markus’s clothing was instantly soaked, the moist fabric feeling hot against his skin as he just hung there in the tight embrace of Kabu’s toes.
The heat he felt was nothing compared to the empty shoe he now hovered over however. His head sticking out, little Markus was able to see hot steam wafting from the opening, carrying with it the raw unfiltered musk of Motorstoke’s gym leader.
“Markus, I must warn you…” Kabu spoke up above, seemingly unbothered by the act of balancing on just one leg. “I won't be able to hear you once you’re inside, so this is your last chance to change your mind. You could just sit on my shoulder instead if you’d like?”
“Thank you, sir. But there is nowhere else I’d rather be right now.”
Kabu sighed, gave a shrug to nobody in particular and without any further ado unscrunched his toes letting young Markus simply fall into the dank cavern below and flump onto some wet canvas that made up the weathered insole.
The little man would take a moment to recover, getting himself up off the moist floor and looking around at the gigantic chamber he found himself in. He would see huge white letters stretching out across the length insole at a slanted angle, all the way to the toe of the boot. And up above, sewn into the fabric was a large 13.
Suddenly the whole world would rumble around the miniature man. He’d turn to look up at the opening only to see the light of the gym be replaced with Kabu's face. Absolutely gigantic the gym leader would loom over the shoe’s entrance, one eye closed, head rotated, peering in to see the little man he was now in charge of, eyes focusing once he spotted the tiny thing.
Without uttering a single word Kabu would tip the shoe, effortlessly causing Markus to tumble all the way to the toe section and smack against the wall with a damp thud before collapsing back atop the spongy surface of the insole. The giant wouldn’t wait any longer as he lifted his leg and pushed his socked foot into the opening.
Markus would watch as slowly but surely all light there had once been was removed as the toes made their way inside, followed shortly by the ball of the foot and then finally the heel.
As Kabu’s ankle filled the remaining void, the massive toes would ram into the little champion, wiggle a bit and pull the puny creature underneath them. They’d continue to shift this way and that, getting Markus fitted nicely and comfortably. Somewhere outside the little man could swear he heard Kabu chuckle a bit.
As the massive digits above him continued settling into place, their movement would cause the fabric to stretch, fresh sweat dripping from the socks as the pressure of the gym leader’s foot would flood the shoe. The musky fluid would rise up from the soaked insole and quickly flood what little space Markus had left.
Immediately Markus would be forced to have a mouthful, a strong bitter taste accompanied – unsurprisingly – by the smell of an old gym shoe. Not that he’d get to focus on any of that for long.
Markus felt himself on the verge of throwing up as his world zoomed downwards as Kabu brought his foot down to the floor, tapping the toe of his shoe against the ground a few times for good measure. The gym leader would stand there, taking a moment to consider exactly what he was doing and how outlandish the entire concept was. Having another person shrink down and willingly go into one of his shoes wasn’t something he expected would happen today. He decided not to dwell on it, shrugging and heading off to his workout, taking just a little extra care to keep Markus safe under all that weight.
Not that the little guy would get to appreciate it for long with each footstep producing a feeling of vertigo before the weight of Kabu’s massive sole would force him tight against the insole, threatening to drown him in sweat every single time. The little man would be forced to time each breath to match Kabu’s step as the gym leader stepped into the gym proper.
Throwing his gaze around the room, Kabu considered the various machines he’d be using today. Given his unexpected company – he thought as he threw a gaze down towards his feet – he’d best go for a lighter workout today.
All hell broke loose for the little champion down below as Kabu started with a run on the treadmill, only a light jog but one that forced the poor little man to time his breath even more carefully. Each time he broke pace he’d get a mouthful of sweat which he could hardly cough up in time for the next portion to come in as Kabu’s foot hit the treadmill once more.
And as time went on, it only got worse. Markus could feel the humidity in the shoe rising as the titanic man up above began putting his body through its paces. More and more sweat would seep from the insole each and every time as little Markus began to realize he was in for far more than he had bargained for.
For the next ten minutes he’d struggle on the verge of passing out from the heat and lack of oxygen, his sense of smell would grow dull from the never-ending assault of Kabu’s musk. His muscles went numb and felt atrophied from the unfathomable mass that would bear down on him with every step the giant made.
Meanwhile up above the gym leader kept on jogging, satisfied at managing to limit himself to only the lightest of steps. Soon though, the device would beep announcing the end of Kabu’s jog as the gym leader would take a seat on a nearby bench for a moment’s rest.
He wiped away the sweat from his forehead and looked down at one of his shoes again, moving his toes a bit and feeling the little pebble of a man stuck underneath them. “You alright in there, Markus?” He’d ask and feel a light wiggling in return, prompting him to smile. “Good. Next up is the cycle.” He informed the little man and stood up.
Markus would cry out in distress as his panicked thrashing only seemed to alleviate Kabu’s concerns, the little man didn’t know if he’d even be able to make it at this rate. Yet none of his screams would reach Kabu’s ears as after just a few slow, measured steps Markus would feel the soft clap of shoe against pedal.
A moment of peace and the world around Markus would descend into spinning frenzy, not unlike a certain amusement park ride from Unova. Without a single hint of hesitation Kabu would pedal onward; why would he be concerned? He was being careful and Markus was clearly alright, not to mention that he had actually asked for this.
“Heh…” Kabu would chuckle once more. “Such an odd fellow, our new champion.”
Markus screamed in vain as even more sweat began pooling around him, those red socks somehow growing even darker. Each revolution would send sweat flying all around within Kabu’s shoe, slapping against Markus in waves with relentless frequency. Markus yelled and struggled giving it his all to just keep breath, to just stay alive in this hell he had personally signed up for. He’d feel the weight of the gym leader press down on him every so often, threatening to pop him like a fresh grape; he could feel his body aching, even without trying, Kabu continued bruising him more and more.
This too would go on for about ten minutes until finally Markus would get a small breather.
Kabu’s gaze would fall down to his little ‘captive’ again and he’d chuckle, bouncing his shoe about a little and growing quite amused by this entire ordeal. He’d tap Markus with his toes a couple of times, still sensing movement and smiling at that fact. “Right…” He said and stood up once more, walking over to the mirror and picking out a couple of weights.
Mercifully for Markus that meant that for a while the titan would be standing in place. With his face sticking out just above the growing pool of sweat that surrounded him Markus would just about be able to breathe as Kabu continued exercising.
Little by little the gigantic man would grow tired, putting more and more effort into each swing of his arms. He’d begin clenching his toes around the little man, squeezing him deep into the bitter sweaty fabric and temporarily cutting off his air supply.
What seemed like an eternity to Markus was in fact little more than a half-hour, with Kabu taking regular breaks to keep his workflow steady. Once he was finished though, he sighed in relief. “Well… Think I’m all done for the day.”
Markus would feel his heart flutter at the sound of those words. Finally… Finally his torture would be over and he would-
“Ready to finish it off with another light jog?”
Once again the pathetic tiny would hear a beep up above and the treadmill would whirl to life, sealing him in hell for just ten more minutes.
---
Back in the gym’s locker room Kabu finally sat down for a good proper rest. Moisture was practically rolling off of him as he took off his shirt and tossed it aside, giving himself a moment to breathe. Before long though, his gaze travelled down once more. With a smirk he reached down and pulled off his shoe, unsealing the coffin Markus was trapped in for the past hour.
A rolling wave of smell hit Kabu straight on. Had he not been alone already, it would likely be enough to empty out the locker room. The man himself seemed unphased however as he gingerly lifted his foot out of the shoe. The once vibrant fabric of his sock was now a dark red from the top to bottom, his shins coating it in sweat and the toes making a soft squelch with every move.
Kabu would lift the shoe up once more and without any fear of the smell take a peek inside. He smiled, spotting the little champion lying at the toe section. He tipped the shoe towards himself, much like before causing the little man to tumble, this time towards the heel though.
With another damp thud Markus would find himself lying under the entrance of the shoe. “Light…” he would whisper, breathing heavily. His entire body was red with heat; bruised and battered, the little man lay there coughing up Kabu’s sweat after nearly drowning in it.
“There you are!~” The giant would greet the little man as a pair of fingers reached in and gently locked around Markus before lifting him up to the gym leader’s face.
The shoe clattered to the ground below as Markus found himself face-to-face with the titan who nearly took his life. A soft, if slightly mischievous expression on his face, his salt-and-pepper hair drenched, yet still spiking up all the same despite parts of it being matted to his head…
“Hmm… A little out of it, I see.” Kabu said, frowning a bit. “I did warn you, young man.” He reminded the tiny. With a concerned expression he would press a single finger on Markus chest, making the small fellow cough up a rather substantial amount of fluid for someone so puny.
In his messed up state, Markus wouldn’t even realize Kabu was shirtless, nor would he be able to string two words together as he just sort of helplessly mumbled in-between coughs.
“Are you… quite alright, Markus?” Kabu asked, cocking an eyebrow.
It took all of the energy the little guy had left in him but he managed to lift up a single hand, giving Kabu a thumbs-up.
“Well now… Talk about enthusiasm! Ah hah hah!” The gym leader laughed as the little man in his hand finally passed out from exhaustion.
