Miles An Hour! (2020 Remake)
This is actually a remake that I'm doing while waiting for responses. And this is the remake for this drawing I did last 2013: https://www.deviantart.com/sammfeat.....Hour-400621984
I still remember my mini mountain bike I had when I was in my 4th year high school days, where peeps tend to bully me cause I use a kid's bike as a mode of transpo. But that bike made me explore around this city by biking around. That bike, after years, is now just a scrap and I don't know where did it go. Maybe my mother and my siblings sold it as scrap metal.
Now, I just got myself a budget mountain bike with my commission money as a gift for myself for Christmas (since I don't have any gifts received from my family and that's fine for me) And now I mostly use it if I need to go places instead of spending money for public transportation, especially dealing with slow traffic jams. With my bike, I use to skip traffic jams easily, faster but tiring, but it's worth it ^v^
Bike's model is a Skyline Super 27.5. Microshift gear shifters, Shimano rear derailleur/Saiguan front derailleur, mechanical disk brakes, and front suspension... Really great for a budget mountain bike. It's fast as well with city roads. My fastest speed so far is about 30-40 kmh.
So, I hope you like this drawing ^v^

I'm just always so impressed with the small details like the car, bike, and the outdoors. I really love this piece! Nice work!
I feel sad for those bullies for trying to degrade you for simply using a bike.
Especially seeing how biking is a practical means of getting around without burning fuel and provides exercise.
In fact the Japanese during WW2 were able to advance on and take Singapore through the mass usage of bikes.

Heheh, yeah.
Back to those old days, my classmates have cars or motorbikes as their mode of transpo, and I was like, commuting on public transportation until my cousin gave me his old bike. Ahhh, 2013.
Now, I have this mountain bike as a gift for myself ^^

The clothes that Jay wears in that drawing are real things that I wear as well.

its so awesome how much you've improved over the years :) keep it up bro
Wow, look how much you’ve grown as an artist! That is really encouraging. I love seeing the older picture because all your work and practice comes through in the new piece.
This inspires me to keep practicing my own art.

When I always look at my old art, I sometimes cringe but they inspire to draw remakes for them ^^ And I use those remakes as an opportunity to experiment things.

At least as awesome as your previous one, and probably even better!

I remember seeing the WIP sketch of this a lil while back on Discord. I didn't see the final product until now! WOAH!! I absolutely love your style and attention to detail. It's so elaborately made and you have my respecc. :>
Ahh. So glad you really like it. Thank you so much, bro ^v^
those microshifters any good? I've heard good things but never seen one in person.
I run a box one drivetrain, because any company crazy enough to go against the big two has my respect.
also, ffffing sandals on a bike is asking to lose some skin off your feet.

The Microshift shifters do work well, but not much when I am aiming for the third front gear, it's always stuck in the second gear unless I push it further and pedal gently.
Until now, all of my bike's parts are stocks, I still don't have money to change them with good ones.
And yeah, since I don't also have proper biking gear, I still use my normal clothes when going places. ^v^'

I've never seen a 3 by drive train that works perfectly, my road bike shifts like potato and I've had the front rail worked on multiple times. that is why a lot of companies are putting out the 1 by drive trains with 12 gears in the back to get the same range with less mechanical parts moving around.
and as long as you are not doing anything crazy, and you said you mostly commute, then that bike should hold up just fine for as long as you have it. very few riders can put an expensive bike through it's paces to the point they need performance parts.
last thing, I wasn't downing your threads, I was just saying that if you wear sandals you are going to get hurt. my shins are constantly torn up and bleeding from the cranks and I have bashed my feet between rocks and the cranks several times climbing rocky hills, and I have ripped a rear derailleur off twice so far. but if you don't take it on black diamond trails, or god forbid a double black, the worst that could happen is you rip a toenail off on the road.

I could understand that. But since I got this bike I only use it for normal commuting (cause there are some parts of our city that is off-road and road bikes won't work much)
If I got money for buying parts I will do that maybe.
