It had now been a full week since the somewhat violent events that happen right before closing time at "Shelly's Maiden Service", in which an employer named Sarah had been ending up in a rather intense argument with her brother Edward.
As a result of that the Zebra lady had been given a week off by her boss Shelly, and having gone through some therapy session she was now about to step back into her job as (Hopefully) a new lady.
"Welcome back, Sarah."
"Leave me alone!"
"How are you feeling?"
"None of your business!"
"Is everything alright with you and Edward now?"
"Don't talk to me, Robin!"
With a slam of the door to the break room, Sarah sat to be alone until she would be out on the first job, as all of her closest co-workers and boss looked more than a little disappointed with how things didn't seem to have changed that much.
"Is it just me, or was she even angrier than usual?" Honey asked as Lemon responded "No, that looked pretty normal to me. It is Monday after all, so a few times I have seen her coming here this low some mornings."
"I just wish she would stop being so extra harsh on me." Robin mumbled to himself as the all then started to ask Shelly what she was thinking about this so far?
"I can't say we can judge Sarah quite fairly since it was between her and her brother in the first place." The Giraffe boss said as she pointed out that, "Since that is a much more personal affair, we have no right to ask her about it here if she doesn't want to speak about it." before then leaving the other 3 to return to her office.
With the boss gone, however, the three maid workers almost immediately started to ask each other on what was the best cause of action to do, and despite what Shelly had told them just mere seconds ago the trio decided that it would be best to try and make Sarah and Edward talk to each other again.
Since they had no rights to just call Edward over and have them talk it out at their job they needed to find an alternative place for it, and that is when Honey raised a paw to say "I might know of a place we could take them both to."
"Where?" Both Robin and Lemon asked as Honey answered, "A place called Mystique."
"I've heard about that place before. Isn't that like, a Karaoke lounge?" Lemon asked unsure, which made Robin's eyes lit up as he proclaimed "Oh, I LOVE karaoke nights!", before then blushing a bit over how excited he got.
"I and Robert would spend plenty of fun dates at that place, before eventually getting married." Honey said while showing her wedding ring on her thick Bear fingers, as both Lemon and Robin knew that Honey was known for having a pretty good taste for these things.
"If you ask me spending a night at the karaoke place seems corny as all heck, but if you think this will help Sarah and Edward set their problems straight then I'm up for a try." Lemon said while whispering to Robin that "Plus, at least I can let myself get wasted a bit to better endure all the madness."
For Robin, this seemed like a double success, as he could get to help Sarah sort out her problems AND getting to spend a chance to spend the whole night singing songs with his friends!
With the plan now set the planned group of 5 would (Hopefully) make this an evening that would see old sibling issues finally getting straightened out.
...or rather, it was supposed to just become the 5 of them, but certain outside forces were trying to change that.
Over at a tiny apartment complex, the fire alarm could be heard beeping from one room, as the window to that place got open up, and a smaller cloud of smoke could be seen exiting it.
On the other side of the window was the kitchen area and the source of the smoke had been coming from a now completely burnt tray of cupcakes, that had been baked in a newly bought oven by a certain Bunny girl named...
"AMBER!!! God, damn! I told you to start using recipes when trying to bake!" An upset sounding shout could be heard coming from her roommate Christine, a Black Sheep who often had to act like the adult one of the two.
"But they are sooooo complicated!" Amber said in a super complaining voice, before then holding up a series of measuring cups and asking "How is anyone suppose to understand how much you are supposed to put off anything in this? Why can't I just "wing it" instead?"
"Maybe cause when you do it always results in the new oven almost catching fire and I having to call the landlord to let him know he doesn't have to call the fire department yet!" Christine said as she came walking into the kitchen, holding a cell phone with the landlord on the other side to prove her point.
She then quickly let him know that it was another "false alarm", and assured him that she was going to try and make the incidents stop.
"But I can feel like I am on a real roll now! I just need to get the stuff to make another batch, and then..." Amber said as she was about to get her stuff to walk to the store when Christine stopped her and said, "Not today, you ain't!"
"What?! Why?" Amber asked confused as Christine held up a big note of numbers and told her, "Cause you have already been reaching your grocery budget for the week, so if you want to have another go at your baking then you just have to wait until next week." while showing a bit of a smirk over having the power of economy on her side.
This frustrated Amber quite a bit, but seeing how she couldn't just make more money rain from the sky she instead had to settle for making it the old fashion way by working.
So later the next day Amber and Robin had been tasked to clean up a place, which did lighten up the Bunny girl's day a bit since she could never get enough working right next to the boy she loved so much.
Her peaceful time got ruined a bit however when Robin said he needed to "Make a quick call", and Amber, of course, couldn't help but secretly listen to what was being said by Robin. (Who thought he was being all alone during the call.)
"Hello? Is this Kevin? Hey dude! I just wanted to see how things are going, since I know it has been a little rocky with Edward lately for you...I tell you what, how about I invite you both to come to join me at the club Mystique on Friday night? Just some fun drinking and karaoke singing us gay dudes together...If you can convince Eddie to join the rest of us then that would be awesome...Sweet! Thanks a bunch for this dude! Love you!"
After his phone call, Robin could swear he heard something drop, which had been Amber dropping her cleaning tools from the pure shock over what she had heard!
Knowing that Robin was openly bisexual she knew that there was always that "risk" of him picking a guy instead of her, and that fear only purified from having heard him talking so flirty about another guy and inviting TWO of them to go on a club together!
It was then when she suddenly heard Robin's voice from behind asking "Are you okay?", making her almost confess over having spied on him as she jumped.
Trying to play it cool on the outside Amber was breaking down inside, as the Bunny girl quickly was trying to scrape together some kind of plan for how to prevent possibly losing her dream love! (And also how to respond to his question, without making it too obvious on what she was feeling.)
"I...just saw a bug?" Amber answered as she tried her hardest to act "normal" while saying it. (Which by her acting standards came of as VERY overacting!)
But Robin naturally took it all as genuine as he and Amber finished on their cleaning jobs, before then driving back to the headquarters.
Once her day at work was over Amber wasted no time heading home, where she went straight towards the calendar on her refrigerator and wrote in big letters with a marker on Friday "CODE RED!!!"
As Friday night came crawling in, Honey, Lemon, and Robin were all dressed up and meeting at the entrance to the "Mystique" club.
"So will Edward, Kevin, and Sarah also show up to this?" Honey asked as Lemon replied "I have been talking with Sarah who told me was going to show up with us, but she never was clear on when she would arrive.", and Robin who told them that "Eddie and Kevin are already inside, and waiting on us."
A quick check of their IDs by the bouncer and the maid group was inside of the place, which was fairly packed with plenty of other folks that had just quit work for the day and just looking for a chance to celebrate that the weekend was coming.
Only after a few moments does Robin manage to spot Eddie and Kevin by the bar, as all 5 of them each ordered a drink before taking a seat at their booked table. (Which happen to be right by the stage where all the karaoke performances will later take place.)
While they all share a good 20 minutes just drinking and chatting together Eddie can't help but notice how Robin keeps looking at his clock during the whole thing, and eventually, he asks him if he is waiting on somebody?
"What? No!" Robin said while trying to lie. "I'll just...making sure we don't end up staying too late."
"Too late? We just got here together." Eddie said as he leans over and asks Robin if he had been inviting someone else to join them, and before Robin had a chance to come up with some other excuse the whole group could hear a very familiar voice being heard.
"Okay Robin, I'm here. So what was this party group you said we would be part of?..." Sarah said before freezing up while in the middle of sitting down, as both she and Edward could be seen having locked eyes on each other. (And it wasn't any friendly faces they were showing, that's for sure!)
Almost immediately afterward Sarah shot an ice-cold glare at Robin, making the Reindeer boy shrink down in his seat a bit in fear that she was going to try to kill him!
But given how they were in the middle of a public place Sarah didn't want to risk doing something that could lend her banished in the future, so she instead just bite together and sat down right next to the brother. (While not liking it one bit!)
In the meantime Amber had also been showing up at the club, having dragged her poor roommate Christine with her in the process.
"Can you please explain to me again why you felt it necessary to tag me along to this place?" Christine asked as the bouncer was checking both of their ID's.
"Cause I need to have my wing-girl with me, just in case of something going wrong." Amber explained to Christine, who wanted to respond to how that "Wasn't even a real thing", but before she could open her mouth the two had been given permission to enter and Amber quickly pulled her inside the place!
Once inside of the place a less then enthusiastic Christine asked her friend if there was any particular table she would want for them sit at, to which Amber replied that she was "Thinking" as she looked around.
Finally, she seemed to settle for a table, and as the two sat down Christine curiously asked if there had been any real reason as to why Amber had picked this particular one?
"Look behind you." Amber said teasingly, and when doing so Christine could see that the table with Robin and his company was within view of where they were currently sitting.
The Black Sheep girl was less than impressed by this as she leaned in to tell Amber, "You do know that this makes you come off like a MASSIVE stalker, right?", but just swatted that away as she assured her friend that this was all "In the act of love".
Right then a waiter came by to ask if the girls wanted something to drink, and Amber quickly ordered for the two glasses of waters.
When seeing how Christine gave Amber a bit of a weird look over ordering just water at a place like this, the Rabbit girl reminded her friend about what happened to her at the Green Dragon Tavern before, and that she "Wasn't taking any chances this time!"
Over at Robin's table what had started as a very decent evening between him, his co-workers, and Edwards & his boyfriend Kevin, was now a lot more silent and awkward since the arrival of Sarah.
Nobody knew what to say as all the attention was only focused on seeing how ice cold the relationship between Sarah and Edward was, and how it almost looked like they were constantly building up more and more mental walls to keep the other one away.
The only time the massive ice block that was covering the whole table got somewhat broken through was when the waitress came by and asked if anyone needed anything, and Sarah responded in her typical sarcastic ways "Another table would be nice.", and to her surprise, Edward took her up on that offer.
Asking for the two of them to have their separate table the waitress went to see what she could do and returned shortly to take the two to another free table.
This left Robin, Honey, Lemon, and Kevin all by themselves at their old table, with none of them having a single clue over what had just happened there!
From their table, they could see how Edward and Sarah were talking to each other, but from their great distance they couldn't make out at all on what they were saying.
At the very least from what they could see they seemed to be handling it very mature (Since none of them had started to suddenly up and leave in anger yet), so in the meantime, the rest of the gang tried to make the best of the situation and simply continue like this was how they had planned the night.
The group of 4 shared an appetizer while looking through the list of different songs they could all perform on the stage later.
After a few more drinks Lemon felt brave enough to hit the stage, as she sang the old classic "I need a Hero" as if it was some kind of rock song!
Following that Honey got a chance to show what a soul diva she could be as she sang fairly well "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", really showing that big mom body of hers did pack a lot of voice.
Next on the line was Kevin, who surprised everybody when he said he first said he was dedicating his song to his love Eddie, before then delivering a very touching rendition of "Can't Help Falling In Love" with probably the best voice by far of the evening! (Even being given a small standing ovation from the whole place for his vocal talents.)
Seeing what a massive success Robin had to live up to the Deer boy decided to have another few quick drinks to calm his nerves a bit, and when starting to feel a bit more "light" in his head he took one quick look at available songs and knew just what to pick!
Getting up on stage Robin's friends all got stunned when they heard the intro to the song, and recognized immediately what it was the cross-dressing Reindeer had been choosing to sing.
It was "Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"!
While the Maid group knew all about Robin's true identity, everyone else at the club had simply seen what they thought was just a chubby Deer girl. (Having not heard Robins voice or anything.)
So when Robin went full deep with those first lines of the song you better believe there were more than a few faces that turned stunned in confusion, since this all-female looking body somehow had this super male voice coming out of it!
Being also more than a bit drunk now Robin didn't feel ashamed to go full out with his act, as he let out his hair, smeared his lipstick all around his mouth, and even pulled down his dress to let his chubby moobs hang freely!
Even if Robin wasn't known as the best of singers his performance on stage more then made up for that, since once he was done he had the whole place almost roaring for him, which made him feel pretty proud about his accomplishment.
It was first when walking off stage that Robin got reminded that he was at a public place, and while he was male Lemon told him that it didn't look too good if he kept on walking around topless. (Forcing him into rather awkwardly sticking his moobs back into his dress, before getting down at his table again.)
As the group was all telling each other about how great everyone's performances were they soon got interrupted by some random patron of the club, who said that while he loved each of their little shows he wanted to give an extra personal compliment to the one Robin put up.
The one delivering the praise was a rather tall Elk guy (Or at least he came off as very tall, thanks to his impressive sized horns.), who liked seeing Robin show off just how much fun he was having.
"The name's Randy by the way." The Elk guy said as he then admitted to Robin that, "I honestly didn't expect to find an act like your so surprisingly exciting and sexy, but I did get those vibes from you."
Hearing how this guy seemed to almost be hitting at him made Robin start to blush like madness, as Randy then excused himself since he was the one next in line to perform now.
Once on stage, the music to "I Will Always Love You" started to play, and this Randy guy must be some kind of unfound star since not only did he put a ton of emotion into the song, but he even managed to set those big notes perfectly!
What's more, was that he couldn't help but to put most of his focus while performing towards Robin, making it seem even more like a personal message than a song.
And while Robin felt like he was in love heaven over having found this guy the same couldn't be said about Amber, who from what she could see started to panic over the fact that she could just be one song number away from losing her chance at making Robin hers!
"I need to do something!!!" Amber said in a panic, as Christine in the meantime just took another sip from her 4th drink of the evening and asked back "And what would that be?" without really carrying for what the answer would be.
"I don't know, but anything!" Amber said as she suddenly had an idea for what to do, as she started to search like mad for any song that could top the one Randy was singing right now. (Which wasn't the easiest thing to do.)
Finally Amber saw something she felt would work, as she quickly left her table and dashed towards the stage as Randy's act was coming to an end.
Having finished his singing Randy was being given an even longer-standing ovation then what Kevin got during his performance, as the Elk boy found himself remaining on stage for some time.
During the standing ovations, Robin and the rest of the table stopped clapping when the spotted Sarah and Edwards coming back to join them, and by the look of things their little private talk seemed to have yielded some positive results!
Edward started by telling the group that "My sister and I have been taking our time now to talk things through, and I feel like we have finally managed to work things out between us." with Sarah adding in, "While I still feel like I can't fully stand being in the same room as him, I too know that working myself up about the past won't make any difference since both of our parents are since long gone."
"So does this mean you will be coming for me and Eddie's wedding after all?" Kevin asked Sarah, who was about to answer when she instead looked upon the stage in confusion and asked, "Is that Amber?"
As the rest of them looked up they could see indeed that it was the same rather awkward Bunny girl from work that had very rudely just walked up on stage to perform while Randy was still being given applauds, leading the everything ending rather suddenly as he was forced off stage by Amber.
"Is she is planning on singing I'm going to need to get A LOT more drunk if I'm going to listen to it!" Sarah said as she immediately departed from the group, to hit the bar as fast as possible!
Having already caused herself to get a few minor boos from some crowd members over her forceful entrance onstage Amber knew she had to blow things out of the park to both save her image, and win Robin's heart. (And since she was completely sober this time it should hopefully turn out better for her than last time.)
The song soon started, and from just the opening beats it was pretty clear to everyone that Amber was going to try and make "She Bangs" justice on the stage!
...it was safe to say that she didn't do a very good job at it.
If Amber had been complete trash while drunk then her sober singing was just sad bad, as she didn't set any notes during the whole thing.
Even worse is that she also tried to use her "acting skills" to make her singing into also a stage show, and it was safe to say that her dancing skills weren't up to par either. (Or following the beat)
While the rest of the place was busy covering up their ears Christine could be seen in the far back covering her eyes instead, as the Black Sheep best friend did feel embarrassed over what a fool Amber was making herself on stage.
Once the final note and pose finally came Amber was hoping she at least did "okay" in her attempt at winning Robin over, but she couldn't possibly expect the complete lack of praise coming from the whole place, as she was both being laughed and booed at relentlessly!
Amber had never been the one to take negative criticism well in the past (Thinking everyone who said it to her was simply wrong), so when having a whole room telling her how bad she was the Bunny girl couldn't handle it all and simply ran out!
Seeing their colleague escaping the mocking from the crowd Robin, Lemon, and Honey all followed after Amber, and when getting outside they saw her sitting by herself on a bench on a nearby bus stop.
Robin took and sat down right next to the completely depressed Bunny girl, and asked the somewhat awkward question of "How do you feel?" to her.
Amber didn't directly answer him but she did say, "3 years of my life spent at drama school, and this is what I have to show for it." before then letting out a huge sigh of anxiety.
"I can't believe I made such an ass of myself on stage." Amber said as Robin and the rest tried to cheer her up by saying, "Everyone has a bad day."
"But I wasn't even drunk that time, and I still messed it up!" Amber said as Robin the surprisingly took her hand and said to her, "I still think it was really brave of you to still go through with it, and give it all that you had."
Seeing Robin holding her hand and looking at her like that almost made it seem like the Deer boy was trying to propose to her, as Amber barley was able to form words over the thought of her long last quest for Robin's affections may be had finally happened?
That's when reality came back in the form of Christine, who quickly pulled Amber up from the bench and told her that it would be best if they just went home now.
Amber just wanted to shout out her love for Robin and then and there, but knowing how much that failed the last time she did that she knew the real key to his heart would be to later feed him those baked goods. (Once she had managed to know how to handle that damn oven!)
With it all getting pretty late everyone split paths while knowing at least that no matter if Sarah would show up to Edward and Kevin's wedding or not, at the very least these two siblings had finally been starting to talk to each other again.
Trying to fix things up between Sarah and Edward the chubby Deer boy decides to fix up a surprise night of fun at a Karaoke bar.
