The Scientist and the Snob
Rachel walked through a forest that stood just on the outskirts of her hometown. She was nose deep in her new textbook. Whenever she decided to escape her stuffy laboratory to get some fresh air, she made sure to take some of her work with her. To her, there was no rest for the ones who possessed scientific minds; amazing discoveries were waiting to be examined. The Raichu was so wrapped up in her studies that she had yet to notice that she was being watched from a bush off to the side. Hiding on the other side of the shrubbery, peeking at her from a gap between the twigs, was none other than the hypnotic full-time snob, Darkening Lotsamoni.
“Ah, there she is – a fine specimen of a female,” Darkening observed, keeping his voice volume to a minimum to avoid early detection. “It is rare that one, such as I, should regress to some type of cowardly predator, but I will achieve you by any means necessary.”
Rachel’s ear twitched and she speedily glanced over at the posh Pikachu’s hiding spot, but she only managed to catch a glimpse of it rustling slightly. Darkening sat nervously, hoping his stalking would be mistaken as something or someone far less sinister than he was. After a few more seconds passed, Rachel shrugged her shoulders and continued onwards, once again diverting all her attention to her textbook.
“Now is my chance!” Darkening shouted, leaping out from the bushes only for his tuxedo to get snagged on a branch. His eyes widened in shock; the sound of his clothes tearing was loud. “Urg! This is why I dread travelling out in such primitive surroundings! Where is a good tailor when you truly need one?!”
The sound of Darkening’s whining did not go unnoticed by Rachel. This time there was no doubt in the Raichu’s mind that someone else was in the vicinity. What made it even worse was the undeniable fact that she knew exactly who it was that was stalking her. With her cheeks sparking with electricity, she spun around, her eyes a piecing glare. However, to her surprise and relief, there was no top hat-sporting snob there.
“Huh. I must be losing it,” Rachel sighed, placing her paw onto her forehead to check for a temperature. “Maybe Ralph was right – I do need a vacation.”
“Well, if it’s a vacation that you desire, my bolt-tailed beauty, then I know the perfect destination for you,” the voice of Darkening came from behind Rachel for a second time.
Rachel turned around, her eyes widening. Darkening was there alright, but so was another Pokémon she’d never seen before. It was a Dusk Lycanroc with the posh Pikachu sitting on his back, who stared down at her with a smug smile curling at his lips. Instead of unleashing her frustration on her smoking stalker, she whipped out her notepad from her pocket and started to jot something down.
“Fascinating!” Rachel exclaimed, circling the wolf Pokémon. “Just by looking I can tell this Pokémon is obviously a rock-type.” She paused for a few moments, her gaze glued to the Lycanroc. “I think I’ve read about this Pokémon – it’s a Midday form of Lycanroc…though its colouring is wrong. Maybe it’s a shiny?”
“AHEM!” Darkening cleared his throat loudly to steal Rachel’s attention away from his servant. It was to no avail. “My dear, would you kindly stop harassing my faithful ride and pay attention to yours truly?” He spoke in an elevated tone, his high and mighty smile returning to decorate his face.
Rachel stared at him, eyes narrowed. “Oh, it’s you. How’d did you come across this Lycanroc?” she inquired, her pupils once again becoming engrossed in the rock wolf. “Judging by his gormless gawk, his lack of acknowledgment and the fact he works for you, I’d take it you hypnotized him.”
Darkening opened his smug maw slightly to let out a wisp of smoke. “Ah, you always were quite the scientist, my dear,” he said. He stood up, walking up to stand on the Lycanroc’s head. “I do appreciate a woman with brain as well as attractiveness.” He clicked his fingers. “Down, boy.”
The Lycanroc obeyed. However, he lowered his head at such a speed that Darkening lost his balance and tumbled face-first onto the ground. Under the exasperated gaze of Rachel, Darkening hastily stood up, snatching his hat from the ground as he stood upright. Brushing himself off, he looked at Rachel, his failing attempt of a gracious smile re-appearing to decorate his face. For the following couple of seconds the three stood in complete silence. Darkening was observing Rachel with an objectifying gaze and his Lycanroc servant was staring into empty space. Rachel maintained her angry expression, just waiting for Darkening to say something that would anger her even more.
Finally, Rachel broke the silence. “Look, I know you just want to put me under your hypnotic control, then whisk me off to your mansion,” she stated, which made stop ogling her body to look at her eye to eye. “I thought you would learn your lesson the last time you did it.”
“My, my, it appears that I am not the only one who failed to learn a lesson,” he remarked, waving a single finger at her. Orange and blue spirals appeared in his eyes while he said this. He also traded in his smug smirk for a devious grin, knowing his underhanded scheme had reached the next, and second best step.
By the time Rachel had realized her blunder, it was too late. She could not look away from the alluringly colourful spectacle that was Darkening’s hypnosis. All that was left to do at time like this was fight back with her mind. After what she and her friends went through the last time, she refused to submit to a Pokémon like Darkening, or anyone else as sinister as him for that matter. Taking advantage of Rachel’s restricted gaze, Darkening raised his paw to caress the Raichu’s chin, his fingers applying just enough pressure to prevent her from turning away.
“I am not yours yet, Darkening,” she proclaimed, putting up a bravado attitude, clenching her paws into a fist. “Ever since the last time you put me under your power, I did research on how to….”
Darkening laughed, interrupting Rachel. “Did you discover that my charming demeanour is irresistible? You may try to hide your feels away behind a blanket of denial, my darling, but even that science of yours cannot topple true love,” he remarked before increasing his hypnotic power.
Almost as if on command, Rachel's eyes filled up with blue and orange spirals. “No…stop this…” she feebly mumbled, clinging to her free will. “You won’t…hypnotize me…this…” her voice was gradually fading away along with her resistance. Her fist reverted back into a paw, which fell limp at the Raichu’s sides. Gone was her face of determination, replaced with a blank and dazed expression.
“That’s more like it, Rachel. As powerful as my hypnosis is, I do believe that the passion you have for me played a huge part in your submission,” he smugly stated, eyes returning back to their original appearance. Moving his paw to rub under her chin, he added. “Deep down inside, I know that you love me as much as I love you.”
“I love you too, Master Darkening,” Rachel responded, her emotionless, monotonic voice not matching her words. While the orange and blue swirls remained in her unblinking eyes, she smiled wider, enjoying her master’s pampering. Moaning in content, she let out a sigh while her body completely relaxed with Darkening’s hand supporting her weight.
Unable to hold up the enthralled Raichu for more than a couple of seconds, Darkening removed his paw, resulting in Rachel falling face first to the ground.”Oh, I do apologize, my electric-cheeked charmer,” he said, making no attempt to help Rachel up. “My hand simply slipped. I do hope you are unhurt.”
With a click of Darkening’s finger, the motionless Dusk Lycanroc jumped to life and walked over to his master, his head still lowered. Finally deciding to show at least some hint of being a proper gentleman, Darkening helped Rachel up, though he only had enough strength to pull her up into a sitting position. A dumb smile remained plastered over her dirtied and bruised face and the colourful spirals were still swirling at the same speed. Taking out a handkerchief from his pocket, Darkening cleaned up his hypnotized victim’s face the best he could.
“Now then, shall we make haste to our abode?” Darkening suggested, making an “after you” gesture next to his Lycanroc servant. “Do not worry, my sweet. He may be incompetent to the point where it’s migraine inducing, but he still makes a decent substitute Ponyta.”
“Yes, Master Darkening,” Rachel replied, taking the first step up onto Lycanroc’s head.
Following after her a few seconds later, Darkening nudged Lycanroc’s ear with his left foot, signalling him to raise his head. Darkening gazed at Rachel, his eyes shifting into a state that he considered romantic. While lightly caressing Rachel’s paw in an affectionate manner, he lead her over to his slave’s back. Taking his gentlemanly mannerisms to the next step, Darkening placed his handkerchief down for Rachel to use as a seat.
“There you go, my dear. I wouldn’t want any part of your beautiful body to get filthy again,” Darkening said, puffing out his chest, feeling all good about himself for being such a caring chap
Following her master’s words, Rachel sat down on the fancy piece of fabric, not really caring where she sat or what she sat upon. All that mattered to her was obeying the commands of the smartly dressed Pikachu, no matter what he requested of her. When Darkening sat down beside her, he noticed that she hadn’t once taken her eyes off of him. To his delight, her dreamy smile was present on her adorable face. She even snuggled up to him without being told to do so, which made Darkening happier rather than being annoyed his slave did something which he didn’t command.
Darkening gave Lycanroc a tap with his foot, barking an order at him. “Onward to my mansion, slave! I…no, WE, expect to be there within thirty minutes!”
Speaking for the first time, Lycanroc gave a single nod and said “As you wish, Master Darkening!” However, a loud and forced cough from his Pikachu master caused him to correct his sentence. “And Mistress Rachel!”
Rachel giggled, enjoying that her master had given her authority over the less slaves. As they set off towards the mansion, she nuzzled her cheeks against Darkening’s, producing some sparks. Unable to do the same due to lack of electricity, Darkening gave the Rachel a kiss on her cheek, making her giggle again and blush before returning the same show of affection.
Twenty-five minutes later, the three of them arrived outside Lotsamoni Manor. In her entranced stupor, the sight of Darkening’s one-and-only abode brought joy to Rachel, knowing that she was closer to pleasing him. She couldn’t wait to either don a maid uniform or a fancy dress so she could further serve her lover.
Dahlia, the Bellossom gardener, took a moment from tending to the flowers to dash over to the gates. Once she welcomed her master with a bow, she pushed open the gates for him and his guests. She stepped to one side and bowed a second time, keeping her pose until Darkening passed by her. Darkening did not pay any attention to his Bellossom slave; he was too invested in coddling Rachel. After all, there was no way a lowly slave would ever compare to a Pokémon he was besotted with.
At the bottom of the steps leading to the front door of the mansion, Lycanroc came to a complete stop and laid down. Darkening slid off the side of the Pokémon first in order to help Rachel down. Holding out his arms to catch the Raichu, Darkening coughed to make her look at him. Understanding what her master wanted without a single word to be spoken, Rachel giggled and hopped off Lycanroc, landing perfectly in his waiting hands. Too wrapped up in his chauvinism to recall what happened last time he tried to support Rachel, Darkening smiled wider as he held the Raichu bridal style. It only took a few seconds for reality to hit him like a ton of bricks. Unable to support Rachel, Darkening’s entire body wobbled, causing him to lose his balance and fall on his back.
“A minor setback,” Darkening commented, hiding his embarrassment behind a forced smug grin. “Would you mind please getting off me, my sweet?”
“As you wish, Master Darkening!” Rachel gleefully chirped, hopping to her feet on command.
“You know that you don’t have to call me master, right?” Darkening informed the Raichu, brushing off his tuxedo as he stood up. Taking a hold of her paws to gently caress them, he put on his most loving smile and affectionate tone of voice. “It is more than evident that you are far above the riffraff I hire to work for me. Someone as beautiful as you deserves to be treated like a lover.”
Rachel moaned blissfully as Darkening moved his paw under her chin to rub it. “Yes, you are correct…” she commented, switch out her monotone voice for one that expressed a little more emotion. Moving her free paw, she softly pressed it up against the side of Darkening’s face. “My dear and wonderful Darkening.”
A sudden gust of wind picked up, which lasted only a few seconds. In this short moment, a Decidueye had appeared behind the two of them. “I see you have returned, my Master.” She commented, bowing as she then asked. “Do you require any assistance?”
Rachel was way too engrossed in appreciating Darkening’s charming demeanour and appearance to notice the Decidueye, Darkening on the other paw, broke away from his newly-appointed lover to glare at the Arrow Quill Pokémon, angry that she dared intrude on their touching little scene.
“If you must help, then go and inform the maids of my arrival.” He huffed, taking out a holder and cigarette from his pockets. “Make sure to also tell them that there is another one worthy of welcoming.” He pointed at Rachel, whom had now upgraded from face rubs to cuddling up against him.
As she bowed again, she moved her wing to her chest. “You command it and I shall obey, Master Darkening,” she spoke with grace before vanishing, leaving a gust of wind in her wake.
“Would you find me pitiful if I proclaimed that I was even the tiniest bit of jealous of that servant, dear?” Rachel inquired, staring deeply into the Pikachu’s eyes, her loving smile having diminished into a small forced smile, feeling ashamed to think of such a thing, especially when telling Darkening about it.
Darkening gave a reassuringsmile. “While Marian Sharpquill is remarkably good at what she does, she can never compare to you, Rachel,” he told her, putting away his cigarette so he could take hold of both of Rachel’s paws, caressing them gently. “Your beauty and intelligence far surpasses anything she could possibly muster.”
These words were enough to snatch the heart of the brainwashed Rachel, dragging her back into the state of pure happiness. She leaned closer to Darkening, giving him a kiss on his lips, unaffected by the hint of tobacco flavour that was still lingering. Once he had returned the kiss, Darkening led Rachel up the small steps and into his mansion.
Being true to her word, Marian had gathered up the maids and other servants hired by Darkening, directing them to standing in the corridor. Some of them were instructed to stand on the right side and the others on the left. The moment their master and his very special guest walked in, they knelt and bowed their heads.
“Good day, Master Darkening,” an Audino maid welcomed as he walked by, though she went unnoticed and her words fell on deaf ears since her boss’s prime concern was admiring Rachel.
Regardless of her master’s reaction, or lack of thereof, the ever loyal maid remained in a kneeling position, taking pleasure in just being in her master’s service. The other maids and servants followed suit, sharing the exact enthusiasm with their fellow underpaid associates. Observing the impressive row of blindly loyal servants, Rachel giggled, feeling like royalty in a world that was practically alien to her.
“My dear, I think now is the right time to say this,” Darkening began to say as they entered the living room, “Forgive me if I come off as too brash, but that lab coat is not very becoming of you,”
Rachel glanced down at her attire, “I am a researcher and scientist, cute cheeks,” she replied, gazing back at the Pikachu with a blush. “But if you want me to change into something more…closer to your desires.”
Following her words, Rachel began to remove her clothes, but Darkening stopped her half-way, placing his paw on her shoulder. “Not here, dear,” he told her, assisting her in putting her coat back on. “Go up to my room and change into the dress I prepared for you in advance. After all, you might draw attention to yourself because of your beauty. Who knows what type of pervert is ready to assault with their lustful, disrespectful gaze?”
One of the maids, a Pachirisu, was standing next to him, wearing a cheery demeanour. In her gloved paws she held a velvet cushion with two long cigarette-holders resting in the centre. Darkening took them both, handing one of them to Rachel. It took a few seconds until the Pachirisu left them alone to clean a grandfather clock in the corner of the room. Rachel looked at the offered cigarette-holder, her head tilted in confusion.
“Thank you, darling, but I don’t smoke,” Rachel respectfully declined, shaking her head.
“Now come on now, you…um, thunderbolt from the heavens,” Darkening said, attempting to issue a compliment to go along with his sweet embrace. “If you truly have your heart set on being my lover, you need to learn to accessorize.”
For thirty minutes, Darkening waited in the living room, sipping from a glass of wine while listening to classical music. He smiled in anticipation of Rachel’s inevitable return, picturing her in the dress he had personally picked out for her. The grinning Pachirisu maid was still present, cleaning up the last remnants of dust, dancing around while she poked at the air with her feather duster. Darkening clicked his fingers as she passed, grabbing her attention almost instantly.
“Go see if Rachel is ready, Pachirisu,” Darkening ordered, finishing up his wine. “Just do not rush her if she is still in the process of looking presentable. I know it escapes your limited brainpower, but try to respect others that actually deserve it.”
Pachirisu grinned wider as she loved receiving orders. “I’ll be up there and back again in….” she paused to count her fingers. “Three shakes of my tail!”
However, before the chirpy servant could begin her dash upstairs, Rachel had just entered the room. Upon being noticed of her presence, courtesy of a finger point from his maid, Darkening looked over at the Raichu. Rachel was wearing a short and stylish blue dress, a purple plain, yet expensive bracelet and a necklace made out of purple opals. The two of them stared silently at each other, sharing a warm, affectionate smile before Rachel ended this short moment by winking at her master.
“Ahem, please excuse me, Pachirisu,” Darkening said after clearing his throat. He hopped down off his chair, shoving his glass into his maid’s paws, resulting in her getting a tiny stain. “Inform the servants that I…no, we do not wish to be disturbed.”
“Yes, Master! I hope you and Miss Raichu have a good time together!” Pachirisu replied, presenting an expression indicating that she knew exactly what her boss had planned, She wiped it from her face the second Darkening looked at her, exchanged it for her usual mindlessly happy one. “I’ll tell the others right away! You can count on me, Master!”
Taking his entranced lover’s paw, he led her back upstairs to spend quality time together in the master bedroom. Rachel had her head resting on his shoulder all the way there, nuzzling her cheeks up against his. When they reached the door to Darkening’s room, she suddenly planted her lips on his cheeks, leaving lipstick behind. She continued to kiss her Pikachu lover as she pushed the door open with her tail.
“I am truly gifted to have a woman like you, my bolt-tailed beauty!” Darkening replied, letting out a faint blush. “Even without a command, you are not hesitant to express your feelings for me.”
“You’re the only man for me, Darkening Lotsamoni,” Rachel stated, staring deeply into the Pikachu’s eyes while they both walked into the bedroom. She caressed Darkening’s face, bringing him in for a much more passionate kiss while using her tail to shut the door to hide themselves from any prying eyes.
