How To Draw Grover Grizzly Bear (Actual Drawing)
Here's how I draw my self-portraits.
Step 1: Follow the arch on the left side of Grover's head to form the outside of the ear.
Step 2: Inside the ear, draw a curve starting a quarter or so into the ear, then make two jagged lines where the line connects to the arch. This makes the inner ear and the left cheek.
Step 3: Draw a series of jagged lines beginning at the upper ear and angling downward into the face. This'll make Grover's hair.
Step 4: Use the ovals in the face to make the eyes. Draw two smaller ovals in these ovals for pupils, then make an even smaller curve in them for glare. Then shade in the rest of the pupils. Above the eyes, draw a small curve for eyebrows.
Step 5: Use the arch on the other side to make the right ear, then draw straight down to make the right side of the face.
Step 6: To make the snout, use the top of the arch as a guide then curve down into the left eye. At the end of the snout, draw a shape like a rounded triangle for the nose.
Step 7: The mouth is a bit tricky. Start at the bottom of the nose and curve into the middle of the snout. Then curve down for an open mouth. Make a smaller curve for the other side. Draw a small triangle on both sides for teeth. Draw two small curves inside the mouth for the tongue. Make 6 small dots on the muzzle for texture; 4 on the left side, 2 on the right.
Step 8: Make a long line starting at the bottom of the cheek and draw down towards the hand circle. At the point where the angle changes, make the point jagged for texture of the elbow. Make a couple more lines with similar angles for the inside of the arm.
Step 9: Follow the bottom of the hand circle, then draw curves that start at the bottom, or at another curve, and draw back into the hand. These will be the fingers. Draw a small line in the middle of the hand to make the lifeline.
Step 10: Follow the lines you made for the chest and right arm. In the center of the chest, draw a jagged line to show texture. Don't forget make the elbow jagged, too!
Step 11: Follow the upper and right line of the circle to make Grover's round belly.
Step 12: Draw a small oval at the point where the construction lines meet and make an upside-down curve beneath it. This'll make the bellybutton.
Step 13: Draw a half-circle witch jagged edges at the bottom of the hand and goes back into the belly circle. This'll make the tail.
Step 14: Draw a long curve starting at the bottom of the hand and connects to the right side of the belly for the top of Grover's belly. This'll be the top of Grover's shorts. Draw a few short rectangles connecting to the top for the belt. In-between two rectangles draw a half-oval half rectangle for the buckle. Follow the bottom of the circle for the bottom of the shorts.
Step 15: Draw a long line down the left side of the body then make a curve then go back into the circle for the shorts leg. Then follow the same step for the right leg.
Step 16: Start from the point of the pants leg, draw down then draw a curve that edges out and goes back in. This'll be the top of Grover's foot. Make two more curves to make toes. After making the third toe, draw back in and curve back up towards the other leg point. Follow the same instructions for the other foot.
