With everyone stuck at home, I thought I'd entertain the neighbours with a home-made bullroarer.

Need to make a bigger one. The one I had of that size failed to scare away the neighbors. :(
Oh man... brings back memories. I agree with the TP Bunny though... it looks a bit smallish. How's it sound (if you've tried it yet)?
The 'blade' is 13" long. The sound at the time of this photo was a bit muffled, but some research helped me clear that up by giving it bevels instead of a curved shape and ending the bevels sharply at the edge. I've also added some 'serrations', mostly for looks but it seems to give the sound some depth of timbre. Overall I wouldn't call it "loud," but then I'm hearing it from the center and may be getting a different experience. I may try making another, armed with improved knowledge and a more focussed sense of misanthropy.
The sound you get should be very low in tone and can carry over miles in the outback. I suppose you could grab an internet video to get an idea but here's a real good song that uses the Bullroarer (funny nuff, song is titled 'Bullroarer'). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kX1UGCIw0qI
Hope I helped.
