your animated icons are lovely. how do you animate them so nicely? very fluid and with good expressions. it must take you ages. i seem to struggle with animation, and am very slow.
they do indeed take a looong time to make.
This one took about 10 hours of work.
I do the animation in TVpaint, and then move it over into photoshop for finishing, though if I do another one I want to see if I can wrangle TVpaint into doing the whole thing, because photoshop's workflow for animation is horrendous

not surprised it took that long. thanks for that. i never know anything about software. ofcourse that's because i'm too cheap to pay for anything and too fearful to download. currently i draw each frame in microsoft paint with a mouse. i'm trying to make a computer game and i expect i'll die before it's finished =)
there are far better free options out there than mspaint!
Search for The Gimp. It's an open source multiplatform image editing program originally created for windows but now available on pretty much everything. Interface wise it's not as nice as Photoshop, and it can be a little confusing, but it's pretty full-featured.
