Hmm. Dark room. Something that feels like clothes hanging around me. Small area. I felt around in front of me, and found what figured would be there: A doorknob. I grabbed the cold orb, and turned it clockwise. Immediately, I was blinded by light. Which was honestly awful, considering were super dim. What caught my eyes after they adjusted was the fact that I was in a room full of different looking doors. Metal doors. Wooden doors. Even those doors you see on trailers. And the way to room was set up was like a lab. And as I walked up to the glass door that looked like the way, the reflection of my rabbit self. I breathed in, annoyed by this realization. I kinda figured this out, but every time I'm in a non human world, I'm in this weird looking ninja rabbit form. Every time I see this face in a reflection, I can't help but think this was Free’s doing. He was delighted when he first saw me in this form. How I had taken on a proper form of prey. I closed my eyes, and opened the door that led out of the room.
It was something. After walking the hallway, I came out to what looked like—a school campus? And it gave off college vibes. I looked around, and saw a banner hanging on the front of a nearby building. It was baby blue, with a capital letter M, with a giant eyeball in the middle of it. It read in big letters, ‘Monster University'. After reading it, I could see the capital letter U in the logo too.
“A College of monsters?” I said to myself. The thought was interesting. A world filled with monsters, that have schools, maybe even jobs. Wonder what kind of lessons they teach here. As the thought crossed my mind, I suddenly heard a loud voice.
“Hey kid! What are you doing outside during curfew?” said the voice of an adult. I turned, and saw something not human in the least, which I shouldn't have been so surprised about. Hello, MONSTER university. But the security guard did throw me off. He was what I would imagine a rhino would look like here. Except three horns, purple skin, and the fact that the only proof he was a security guard was the unbuttoned jacket he had, exposing his muscle gut along with no pants. Oh, and forgot to mention. He had a flame inside his mouth. It was like he kept the fire frozen in time inside his mouth, except it was still moving. Before I knew it, I was running back into the building. The monster pursued, breathing fire while yelling. No chance I'm stopping for someone who yells, ‘stop' and expects me to stop. If I did, the guy might've accidentally roasted me. Or purposely. I don't get how this place works. Was it in the rules that said, ‘if caught outside of curfew, expect to be burnt on sight'? The hallways all looked the same. I almost ran past the room I was in before. I skidded, as I hurried to open the door. The stomping was a good motivator. It almost shook the whole building. Soon as it opened, I closed the door quickly, and found my door. I went to grab the ordinary door, and turned the knob. But when I opened it, it was hollow. There was no closet full of clothes. It was just an empty door. I closed it and repeated opening and closing. Same results. As I closed the door for the final time, the stomping stopped. I didn't need to turn around. I could see the outline of a shadow covering me. It was here. And it saw where I was. My eyes were closed, leaning on the door. I didn't look. But I heard a buzz sound, and saw nothing but red. I didn't notice the red button above the door, which was now lighted up. Before I even had the chance, I was pushed back by the door, and felt something around three hundred pound land on top of my body. My eyes only saw red, but now it only sees and feels blue and purple fur.
“Woah. What happened?” said a muffled voice. It was probably like that since he was still on top of my entire body. As the big guy got up, he noticed two things. One was the squashed rabbit. He lifted me in the air by the ears, which apparently are now sensitive, and stood me up. “Sorry about that buddy. Must've gone and gotten are door signals crossed,” is what he said. Then, there was the second, which was the guard looking in angrily through the windows. “So they hired a new guard huh? Mean looking guy.” My mouth nearly dropped at him just sweeping that guy off like he's nothing. “Well, guess I'll go back through then.” Just as he was about to leave, he looked bank at me. “You coming,” he gestured towards the doorframe that was empty a second ago. But now the frame had a new view inside. I shook my head, and walked through. My rescuer walked through with me. But just as he was about to close the door, he made a joking salute to the guard. “Keep up the good work, sir,” as with those words, the door closed.
As he was pushing buttons, I looked around. It looked like I walked right into a factory. There were business desks everywhere, separated by a single wall in front of the desk. I looked back and got a better look at my rescuer. The guy was about seven and half feet tall, with baby blue fur with purple spots on it. His fingers were edged with three inch claws. Unlike the guard though, this gut had no clothes on. And on the side of his rectangular looking head were white horns, slightly curled. The big fella stepped back, and we watched as the door was clamped up into the air, and taken away.
“Well, that was different,” he said looking back at me. He walked slowly in a circle around me, checking me out. “Huh. Not as scary as you’d think a kid would be at that place,” he said, now standing in front me. He held out his thick right hand out. “Names Sully. Who’re you?” I reached for his hand and attempted to a handshake gesture.
“Name is Al. Thanks for the save.”
“No prob. Though it was a complete accident,” he clenched his hand in mine, and shook once. But when he said that, he had let go of my hand, and was rubbing the back of his in embarrassment. “I was actually trying to see my old friends on campus. But the signal must have gotten mixed up, and I ended up on top of you,” through his smile, I saw the mouthful of pearly white sharp teeth. “Wanted to tell them how I'm doing at the new job, but guess I'll have to try another day,” he yawned, his mouth opened wide as his tongue came out. I could almost smell the scent of the energy drinks this beast of a guy drank. Almost enough to make me pass out. I waved my hand in front of my face, like I had gotten hit with a wave of gas. He smacked his lips and looked down at me. “Hey, so it kinda feels like I kidnapped you. Do you, uh, wanna stay over at my place till we can send you back tomorrow?” I smiled at the offer, he grinned back. He led me out the building, and towards his place.
After a good thirty minute walk, we had arrived at small apartment complex. I was surprised when he opened his door. At how horrible it was. The place had mixed wall colors, no furniture, and a few boxes. It needed some serious work. Like I imagined it would take roughly about four months of pure effort to make it live-able. He walked inside and went to one of three doorframes, the only one with no door attached. He came out a second later with a royal blue comforter, big enough to fit a king size bed. He laid it out on the floor in a nice fashion, and threw a regular pillow on the blanket.
“Hope you don't mind. I’d offer my bed or the roommates, but I'm not sure when he's coming back.” He scratched the back of his head. “He started dating this girl recently. Skinny. Cute. Snake hair.” My mind kinda did a back flip when he said that last bit. “And since they dated, he either comes home the next day, or in a hour. So yeah. Sorry.”
“It's fine. I appreciate you even letting me stay here,” I said to the host with a smile. After saying our good nights, I laid on the sheet, and decided to pass out. The sheet sorta smelled like him; a small amount of lavender mixed with other things I could not comprehend. If anything, it was food.
Later in the night, while I was sleeping half covered in the sheet, the floor shook in a rhythm. I was too deep in dream to notice. Based on what I heard and the end results, I figured out what was going on after the incident had occurred. Sully woke up, still a little out of it, and got out of bed. He walked as quietly as he could to fridge for a late night snack. But as soon as the big guy opened the fridge, he groaned in annoyance.
“Mike. You were suppose to buy food,” he said in a hushed tone. His stomach growled with eagerness for food. He looked around the room, hoping to find some form of food. His eyes stopped on his guest’s half covered body. He slowly walked over to the unconscious body, and his thoughts raced. His hands moved slowly towards the sleeping creature, and grabbed the sheet that barely covered. He threw the sheet over the body to completely cover his guest. Then, before he knew it, he couldn't stop himself from softly rolling the napping body into a creature sized burrito, made with blue tortilla. He clutched the sides of his newly made meal, and hesitantly opened his jaws as wide as they could go. His breathing got heavier, drool ran like leaky streams from his mouth. Without reservation, he moved the front of the burrito, which held the guest’s head area, and moved it towards his mouth. His pearly white fangs barely grazed the sheets, as the drool thickened on the sheets till it was soggy in his mouth. Just as he fit up to the shoulders, he realized how delicious the student was. He shoved the meal deeper into his gullet, where there was a thick bulge being displayed on his throat. He didn't care. The feeling that this midnight snack was giving him, was too intoxicating. His face was blushed, and his mouth had just welcomed the kid’s waistline inside. Though he could taste a flavor that was familiar to him, the fact that this was Mikey’s sheet and there was a time where he had accidentally licked him. Though vague, he could taste the flavor the stranger: it was almost like apple pie, but stronger and sweeter. That thought alone was enough to force down the last bit of the apple flavored burrito into his gullet, which was a struggle since it was so thick and heavy. But he did it. With the last of his strength, he sent the two foot thick bulge in his throat down into his belly, which was like having the three foot tall monster roommate that sully has, inside his gut. Breathing hard and loud, the large fluff monster groaned and fell to floor. Without even a chance to apologize to the meal inside, softly moving around, the host passed out. His snore was like something you would hear in those movies, when the main character would walk up to a cave and the growling of the monster inside would echo ominously. He just laid on the floor, one massive paw almost covering half of the grown gut, and his other hand was stretched out for no reason. The night was nice and quiet, if you didn't include the deep growling of the enlarged monster.
Sully woke on the floor the next morning, stretching on the cold wooden floor. He smacked his lips, and bent backwards, cracking his back. He froze when his claw stopped on his belly. He looked down at the thickened flab that was on his waistline. Overnight, he grew an extra forty pounds, at least.
“Ugh. What did I eat last night?” moaned the monster, feeling like he had a hangover. He slumped over to the fridge, and opened it to see it was empty. He groaned. “Either I ate the entire fridge in my sleep, or Mikey forgot to fill it up,” he looked down at his belly. There was no way he could have gotten this if the fridge was empty. Logically, he went with the sleep walking option. Doesn't help the current situation though. He walked over to the house phone, and dialed the number for his roommate’s girlfriend’s place. Just as he was about to press the call button, he caught a glimpse of himself in a full body mirror lying against the wall. He put the phone on the hook, and walked over to his reflection. Sully had a nice skinny body back when was in monster University. Not too big, but not too bulky. As he looked at himself, he realized he looked good. The belly went with his fur and color. In fact, if he could gain even more weight, enough to make his gut more round, the look would be perfect. He shook his head in confirmation, and went to his room. He grabbed his old University jacket that he had, and filled the pockets with his house keys and wallet. When he slipped it on his body, the coat barely covered his gut. He ran for the front door, and opened it. He closed the door behind him, and the sound of the door locking echoed in the empty room.
