Never ever had he decided to go in this part of the forest so far. Neither did he know whose territory this was nor did he want to find out in particular, not after he had found a deer which has been ripped apart in half by some unknown creature. Both, his brain and the fact that not even birds dared to make any noise here told him clearly that he should have just turned around, walked away and proceed as no thing had happened. His curiosity on the other hand...made him investigate. He had tried to match the scent he had caught but it just wouldn't fit to any animal he could think of, but he knew he wanted to find out no matter what. Especially after he had wi tnessed a strange blueish glowing in the night before. He followed the rays to its source or at least tried to but as soon as he got closer, he heard someone speak, a bone thrilling whisper coming straight out of his own head telling him to go away and min ding his own business.
Had this all been a dream? He had to find out and approached the origin of the strange happening, at least he believed that it must have come out of a cave nearby. Being exceedingly careful, he first checked the
entrance of said ca ve if he was able to hear someone around or even inside before he slowly entered. Deep grooves in the stone floor and walls showing both, pictograms and hieroglyphs drew his attention. Whoever had done those must have had either a mighty sharp tool or... at this moment he pulled one of his claw through one of the rills huge claws. After inspecting the entry a little further and making sure once again no one has seen him spying, he decided to discover what's inside this weird place.
After walking past a few torches, which created a gloomy and yet inhabitated atmosphere he reached something he would have never expected. An old, heavy table, decorated with all sorts of crystals, bones and feathers as well as flasks, a catrige of ink standing next to a skul l and in the middle of the table a huge book. He didn't know where to look first, the room he was standing in had plenty of eye catching furniture and decor he was gazing at. A sideboard crafted from tree bark still covered in red tainted moss was filled w ith colourful flasks and bottles illuminated by a hand ful of crystals. The blueish glowing, he remembered, was exactly the same he had seen the last night so now there was no more doubt that he had found the source of the creature who was in charge for al l the weird things happening in the forest! Checking the exit once more he proceeded to look through the evidence he had just discovered. Besides the sideboard stocked up with flasks and the table there seemed to be another tree bark to store books, even if none of them looked so old and important than the one placed on the table in front of him. Taking a closer look, he noticed that a red ribbon has been put between two pages of the book. He was sure that it must mark an important page or at least the on e the owner has read recently.
Carefully he opened the heavy book and blew away some dust from the cover. As soon as the looked at the page, some of the runes written down started to glow mystically. Sliding his paw over the wavy pergament like paper, he had the impression to feel one of the runes whilst simultaneously noticing a green scale on the other page of the book staring to glow as he touched the rune. A strong urge to read the rune captured his body as both, rune and scale lit up, blinding the ca nine right as he mumbles what the rune might be pronounced as. A dazzlingy bright blue light floods the cave, surrounding the wolf and making him immobile. Not being able to do, not even think anything, the poor wolf just had to watch as he is being pulled , pulled towards a small phiole next to the book. Seconds, feeling like ages for Karis pass and as the blueish light slowly gets weaker, he has disappeared at first view. But he was still there, the small glass tube, now glowing has a shrunken down wolf in side, trying desperately to break out, scratching from within.
All of a sudden being interrupted by steps entering the cave, the wolf now tries to remain unnoticed and calm but he already knew that he had run into a trap. A few steps closer and the cave o wner has arrived back. A scaled paw reaches out for the phiole with the entrapped guest, placing it in the middle of the book and apparently deactivating the runes. With a wide grinning face, his forked tongue out, he hisses:"I told you to mind your own business, wolf"
