Wee! I've been practicing how to bake brownies, so that for tomorrow on Mother's Day, I can bake my mom a cake! But every step of the way I had trouble, and drew dumb little doodles for each part!
---
First was for tablespoons! ...I only had regular spoons. My friends tried telling me how much a tablespoon was. It's the same amount of stuff as part of your thumb?? Or something?
Well then after, I don't have bowls here that are big and good for mixing... so I asked if I could just pour all the ingredients in the final baking tin, or if it'd be better to mix and bake everything in small parts in tiny bowls, and then put them all together later...
Then it said I had to grease a pan! ...I haven't seen anyone in cooking shows grease a pan. I guess they mean butter the inside of the pan or whatever? So I sprayed it and rubbed it around with a paper towel but it sure didn't feel right...
And then I put it in the oven! ...And forgot how long it was in there. Somewhere between 1-10 minutes. At least that meant I'd either way between 13-23 minutes for it to be done!
And finally they were done! I got a little photo of it, they turned out normal! Except, I cut it in the shape of my little hamster face, with my big round ears on top! Success!
I decided to thank everyone for their help and drew a little group picture! Some friends on twitter, Telegram, and Discord all helped me out and explained different things, or just wished my luck! BlackMageCat, Splash, MouseBoxers, Fatass Yoshi, Nutalie the squirrel, Effses, Crocpot, Char, and a few others but I didn't have room for em. I guess I had a lot of supervision. So, even if I did it on my own, I didn't do it alone!

Ehehe, I'll keep tryin'! It helps with such a good team around! B3
Ah! So is another episode of 'Cooking With Oxnard'. The cooking show where 'you', the audience, get to bake with the baker!
I'm very happy you were able to get so many folks to help you out with your cooking. How did the Ham-Ham brownies come out? Did you add any colorful sprinkles?
Did you consider wrapping up the Oxnard brownie in that sticky, plastic wrap and keeping it in the back of your freezer? It's a culinary art masterpiece!
How did the cake go for your mom? Did you make it to send it to her via US Post? Or was it to spend a Mother's day together while showing her how you've become more in tune with the Culinary Arts?
Ooh! Today is Fuxie's 2nd mom's day! I'm sure she's having a blast as, after Age 1, kiddos develop a super-speedy stealth technique that has a kid from there to who knows where in less than 3 seconds!

This reminds me of a picture of my son when he was one that I wish I still had. He found my Haki-sack from back when I was in High School and would crawl around with it in his mouth. (I was no good with the hacki-sack but it was fun and colorful)

Oops I never got to this one!
It was a fun silly day, chaotic questions and dumb cooking with some helpful and non-helpful answers from friends! And in the end it turned out alright. (Plain brown brownies but they could have used some extra sugar!)
I didn't save any frozen to keep forever, pictures are best for that! The cake ended up just bein' something I showed her in photos and on video, Nevada actually has weird farmer laws about sending food across the state border? Plus I love cake and it wouldn't get there great, so it was more like my own treat!
Fuxie's enjoying being a mom, her kid can run so fast now! Seems nostalgic seeing her videos, since there were videos of us running around the backyard in a similar way, when you're just excitedly learning to move around on your own but can't quite talk. Both good mamas!

It is so nice knowing how well Mother's day went. I kind of figured you did a Facetime-style presentation of the cake but wanted to be sure. (My BronyCon, pal who helped with getting our panel going along with assisted in our presentation of donations to the charity auction, sent me cookies a few years back)
How much of Fuxie has changed after one year as a momma? Have you noticed her not getting nearly as grumpy as she used to be?
When Peep came along, I learned how to not allow 'cuss words' to slip out. Then, for me, I learned I didn't need to use them at all. There was even a time, when Peep wasn't around, where I had to be reminded that I could say 'strong language' by my brother-in-law and friends while playing Smash Bros. Brawl. :)
What is super funny is hearing Peep play his online games with his friends. Since I now use 'Bone Conducting Headphones' my ears themselves are free to hear the world around me. So, as he gets more into a game and even more inclined to start doing 'Junior High Speak', I cut him off and remind him of how that type of speech stays at Jr. High as using it in other places, especially home, is just not what one should do. (At least in my opinion)

Hopefully you got to chat or call or text with your mom there too! :3 Fuxie was super emotional when pregnant, but in a good way - like she posted about seeing a mom and knowing how the mom loved her baby, and the thought made her cry. She's still sensitive and has a new motherly point of view about everything, but is also back to getting to be more stable, and trying to be a good parent. (: It's cool! I'm used to parents sorta becoming hypocritical and selfish and losing touch - maybe that happens more around high school, but it's nice to see it improve folks! Learning how cussing isn't necessary is a good part too! I mostly just sprinkle in cursing for comedy, and like when things don't need it too. :3
You're quite the clever lil' Ham-Ham when it comes to dropping a sprinkle of strong language.
My favorite line, which I most remember, is from the story arc where Nishi is racing up 'Screw Mountain' against Fuxie and, I believe, Nishi tells her that she's "A good racist". <LoL!> That is the most clever and, potentially, double-take making statement ever!
If I can get Peep to help me out today, I may have him aid in getting the book out of its hiding spot in my 'special collection tote'. I feel he would enjoy a lot of what you did in there.
And now I'm remembering how much fun Nishi had with Faux Farewell when he tried to show him a picture of his sister. <LoL!> That series of panels, at least to me, was hilarious!

You make an interesting point about parents and their kids as they get older. However, as I know he won't read this, he will still come into my room and sleep, usually without me knowing. It's weird having a 13 year old feeling more comfortable sharing a bed with his dad instead of his own room. Largely, for his sake, I keep a slight distance from him so I'm not taking away from his fun while also making sure he doesn't say something dumb to get himself in trouble.
My High School years were forgettable. It's when I got my first computer, created the BBS with my sister, and got overly caught up with playing 'Quake', 'Doom', 'Quake 2', and 'Duke Nukem 3D' on my computer. (Though I was very unappealing in HS due to being 'the blind kid' along with having the worst acne you could ever get)
Yep. High School was really all about Nintendo 64, Magic The Gathering, computer stuff, learning I don't like CAD, and working in the school library while also 'hacking' the library computers so some screens had Yoshi pics as background images. <LoL!>
I am sure you have lots of double-takes seeing a kinder, friendlier Fuxie. Soon, as your nephew gets older, you can have the same fun with him that you did with your other nephew by telling him 'fun' things to share with his mom. ;) (Between 2 and 4 is great as they like to tell their parents things and get the giggles when they hear you get yelled at for what they said)
The lil' guy should definitely remember to tell his mom that she's pretty. <LoL!>

Oh my gosh, how did I miss this?! Look at that chair, haha! <3 Hope you had a great time baking!
Ehehe I'm glad you saw it! I should probably @ folks but it's just a lil doodle. B3 Thanks for the support!
