alot of friends do??? my god theree is such thing as platonic love<_<
I think that word means a lot more than that to be thrown around so willy-nilly. I may care a lot for my friends, but I'm not going to cheapen the word love by just throwing it around. It weirds me out that people do that.
Okay well, here’s my take on it. While I do agree love is a very meaningful term, it can apply to a lot of different thing. Family, friends, lovers, co-workers, places, memories, keepsakes, pets, jobs, hobbies, etc.
People can express love for people outside of family blood and outside of wedlock. And you saying that the term “love” is cheapened by using it on someone you’re not in an intimate or familial relationship with, it makes me think that you believe that friends can’t be loved or cherished just as much as family or lovers can. And that, in my honest opinion, is more weird than saying “I love you” to someone who isn’t related or married to you.
I don’t mean to invalidate your opinion. I, like you, am just expressing my view on the topic.

I tell my friends I love them all the time. Especially the ones I've known for years. Some of us create families of choice.

If you think it "cheapens" the word to be used with people you love, just because you don't love them romantically, well...that's a you problem.
The greeks had tons of meaning for the word love, different levels of it, ect. I "love" that you believe you know my circumstances in detail so you can judge that I'm cheapening something just because you have strong feelings lol. Your profile says you "love to talk to people"...wow. Who's cheapening the word now? Love love love :P
That's more just semantics. Loving a thing vs loving a person. I guess I'm way more comfortable using it as an opinion of a thing, rather than using it for a person. I would give anything and everything for some of my friends, but I wouldn't call that love. Some people might call it that, but to me the word love just means something a bit more.
You don't have to be romantically involved with someone to tell them you love them. Hell I love my friends, especially the ones who help me through my depressive episodes, the ones who also need to know that someone cares about them, and loves them. Love is a powerful word, but its through our actions we prove it. Someone saying "I love you" to a friend doesn't make the word mean any less, its their actions that make it mean more or less. I think Wolfpupmaui in their reply has a point, the greeks had alot of meanings for the word love, and so does modern society, you can romantically love someone, Platonicly love someone, you can sexually love someone, you can love someones writing or voice. Love has many meanings, its hugely dependant on actions and sentiment. I romantically love my significant other, I platonicly love my friends, do you get my point?
Oh I get the point that some people think that there are different kinds of love. But, to me, that's not really the case. Platonic love isn't love. It might be semantics, but still. It weirds me out when people say "I love you" to friends. I don't love anyone. I might care a great deal for them, I might give them everything I own, or take a bullet for them, but to me, that's not love. Love is just something more than that.
>Love is just something more than that.
More than giving everything you own or taking a bullet? What *more* is there? You keep moving the goal post of the ontology of love further out into metaphorical space, but you don't define the characteristics of that space. What *more* are you looking for?

JFC, this was a week ago. What does it matter what I think? This is how I feel. If I think that it means more to me, in a way that I can't easily explain, then what the absolute fuck is wrong with that?
Just throwing in my two cents here, but I think it's just because of the way you said it.
The "what friends say they love each other" statement kinda implies that you find it weird or wrong when friends do say that to one another.
There isn't anything wrong at all with your opinion on it, but you gotta expect people to respond to it with their opinions as well.

I mean, if people want to say it to each other, that's fine. I still think it's weird.
I'll take it. Just makes me happy is all.
Excited for the old dog. :D

WAIIIIIT. He isn't going to set those two up, is he? Make plans and than send Andy instead? :O
I can relate to this. Trying too hard to both look and sound perfect.
Oh ye of comments that perfectly match icons x3
He sadly never sat on him but here is some sexy time between them:

Is anyone else creeped-out that Emery told Noah about his plans for Andy?
I'm more creeped-out by the fact that Noah seems to be ok with it, even encourages Emery to go on with it º.º
I mean, they're consenting adults. Plus, ethical non-monogamy / polyamory is a thing.
Yeah, I know. But I never took Noah for that kind of guy. He looked like the pretty monogamous type to me.
Besides, in the 'Falling flat' comic, it seemed like Emery considered that his flirting with Andy had gone a bit too far, and Noah seemed to agree.
So now, I can't help but feel like Emery is kinda toying a bit with Andy...

Oh I can definitely say He and Noah are going on their first romantic getaway date. I sure hope they have fun and Andy I sure hope he and Cooper get together and maybe they can join them. Hehe Emery looks so adorable looking like the tough boss ready to fire someone.
I'm sure others have noticed, but I can tell that you've really put extra effort into these panels. The illustrations (particularly the lighting) look amazing!
I had to read it again, but I think Noah and Waldren are going in a vacation together. And... I don't know, I know some speculations can be tedious or they might spoil the fun, but I think Emery is maaaybe gonna break it off with Andy? Or vice versa. I mean the timing wouldn't be bad. Cooper I think is at the top of Andy's priorities. Unless this is just for fun, like friends hooking up.
I believe that what Emery and Andy have isn't a romantic thing based off something emery said in a previous page that I cant for the life of me remember.
i appreciate that wallie's putting on the tough guy act for his little pupplet1.
but i suppose wallie has to: or else, he might risk oleander's veering out of line again.
something which i wouldn't want to have happen, either.
old dog did seem rather psyched about andy's arrival, now didn't wallie¿
heh.
(this was a great display-of-command of "body language," by-the-by, jackie: that oleander´d meekly poked his head in through his boss's minimally-opened door — opposed to boldly opening said Door all the way, ´chest all puffed out in the center of the doorway in readiness for Standing His Ground© against waldren.)
i will own: when i read through the first two panels, i was becoming rather pissed with wallie.
´like, who was he lavishing this all-expenses paid vacation to, whilst merely relegating "fuck sleeve" status to goldie?
it took me a few seconds to deduce who'd have that kind of speech pattern, after I saw that person refer to emm as "big dog."
then i was relieved. though it was helpful in its own way, to see noah's name up on the display.
all right.
groovy.
what's going to happen now?

Hmmmmmm yeah that's something to talk about, Wally is leaning into a bit of a player role now with Andy it seems. Looking forward to the DRAMA that will ensue.

as much as these two are hot and I like it as a narrative way for andy to be more confident and help coop unlock *his* sexuality.... Andy you need to tell them about each other, you and coop are such a couple and hes already freaked out by it as is
Idk how this slipped past my radar until now but there's been a huge jump in coloring quality lmao. We're being spoiled tbh
