Lapine and Lièvre - SnakeGalSkye
*THERE IS A STORY BELOW THE DESCRIPTION*
My quest to have my friend SnakeGalSkye snakegalskye draw close to all of my OC's continue as this time she's chosen my bunny girls, Lapine and Lièvre, to illustrate in her own style. Going for their more comical side, though without sacrificing the sexier side of the equation, Skye went on to play with things that she knows very well how to illustrate: curves.
I do like the playfulness in this one, with both bunny gals essentially being the counterpart of the other and it shows in their art...though this one goes in reserve. Here, we see Lapine being more energetic and Lièvre being a little taken aback and it's pretty cute.
If you like that duo, here are their other two illustrations/story combo for you to enjoy:

Perhaps someday we might just see Lapine fully out of the hat...but today is not that day. ;P

HARE-RAISING PERFORMANCE
This was always the most demanding moment in his schedule.
Tobias was something of an art connoisseur, or so many people said. He wouldn't quite rise his own fame and expertise too high for fear of getting conceited, yet he did know how to distinguish the truly magnificent from the utterly mundane. As such, his job was the high manager of a specific and high-class theater, a “performing hall” as it was known in some circles, required for him to pass auditions for those who'd covet a spot in the schedule for entire seasons, some people preparing things almost years in advance due to the prestige of the Grand Strikson, the name of the place he managed. Everything had been going quite fine, arrangements had been made to ensure that everything would be going smoothly...
Yet of course everything could turn to crap given the right moment and opportunity. Case in point, one of the key troupe, the kind you put on the first page of the pamphlet, on the website and on social media, had unfortunately cancelled. As it turned out, they got an absurdly superb and generous offer which they couldn't decline, leaving their spot for the opening of this season's spectacles and recitals completely empty. A replacement had to be taken as everything else had been worked out to the t with the others and their spot. It was quite a predicament and, frankly, something he could most certainly pass on yet time was of the essence. Performers of all sorts of venues and styles, from cabaret singers to comedians tried their luck, but none seemed to have the cachet that the Grand Strikson required, the class and upper-echelon of talent which made it the place it was today. From the worthless to the uninteresting, Tobias had spent far too much time on this already as the re-opening was in three weeks, doing three month seasons and then taking a month break to prepare for the next cycle. Doing this alone, as the others were needed elsewhere, he was almost to the verge of despair as everything turned messy, yet then a rather curious and particularly sordid sight greeted him on the stage as the next participant walked in...
A bunny girl.
Long wavy blue hair, fishnets, tight ensemble, the bunny ears, colorful makeup and a little bushy tail...She had it all as she walked in with a little shy smile, waving toward the front of the stage as she adjusted a large top hat, the kind which matched the whole stage magician garment that she wore. Pinching himself over this, he could not quite believe that something like that could incidentally be accepted through the screening process. Tobias did say that they had to be a little more lenient, but this was perhaps the bottom: titillation and children entertainment. He tried to keep an open mind, as was his creed, but this wasn't exactly the most potent of start.
“Hi! I'm Lièvre, that's French for hare, and I'm part of the duo called bunnies of bonne fortune. Thank you for having us both here today,” she said with a polite little bow, which made her hat fall off her head, yet one swift motion of her hand resolved this little error as she caught it and then extended it to the side. “I did mention duo, as here is Lapine, my partner in this little show we aim to put on in your establishment. I hope you'll like it.”
Her other hand went inside the hat and, fully-awaiting for a cliché, Tobias was doubly-served as not only did she indeed take out a rabbit from her hat, but it was also a sexy assistant by the looks of it as another bunny girl was taken out of the hat, pulled by her ears as she had a pout on her face, as if she had been bothered by the one holding her right now. She was indeed going for the sex appeal approach, coupled with exotic flair as she was dressed in a belly dancer getup, complete with bedlah pants, risky top, jewelry and a rather copious amount of skin on display. Her eyes were covered by semi-long bangs of ginger color as the rather tall and curvaceous bunny girl was taken out of the hat, her arms crossed as if she was not appreciating one bit what was happening.
“Not the ears...Those are sensitive...” the one named Lapine said, throwing an unseen, yet very obvious glare at her partner who seemed to be a little at a loss right now, as if she was nervous about all of this. The baladi-themed bunny girl stretched, giving rather apparent eye-candy material with those very simple maneuvers as she eyed the place left and right, as if she didn't really care about what was happening right now. “Woah, this place is classy. Lots of space too by the look of it.”
“I'm sorry...What exactly am I looking at here?” Tobias said, not entirely patient given the stress he was the target of as he tried to restrain himself from being overly mean, yet this wasn't exactly convincing nor precise. “Are you two doing comedia dell'arte? A comedy routine? Are you singers? Musicians? What exactly do you think you can bring to the Grand Strikson?”
“Oh...right...Well...” Lièvre struggled to say, feeling a rather large amount of pressure right now as she looked left and right, almost away from Tobias as if she couldn't quite respond to that without embarrassing herself.
“We're magicians, the both of us,” Lapine responded, her attire being a hint that she was not particularly shy in the slightest, though her direct response suggested this even further. “We handle illusions, prestidigitation and card tricks, for starter. I'm also an excellent belly dancer, if you haven't guessed yet.”
The contrast in attitude between those two was striking and almost amusing in its own way, which could certainly be a great hit with a certain clientele. By the looks of it and judged by their theme, they were mostly accustomed to handling families, going for the entertainment of both children and adults. This Lièvre was perhaps much more comfortable with smaller crowds and children as opposed to this place with its fifty large rows of seats, its multiple levels and the stage which could hold perhaps 50 people at a time. It made those two look tiny in a fashion, which didn't exactly help their case either.
“Look...I'm sure you two are very skilled at what you do...but this is a place for the elite, for a certain class of shows and spectacle. No offense to magic and to baladi, but those aren't exactly the kind of things we're looking for here,” Tobias said, trying to be diplomatic yet firm as just the introduction for those two was going on too long and, by the looks of it, at least one of those two couldn't really perform on such a stage to begin with. “Now, if you said you actually knew Turkish ballet which does include some slight baladi variants in it, I'd be all ears, but I'm afraid we'll have to pass. If you'd please-”
“W-wait!” Lièvre said, taking her courage in both hands as she straightened herself out and seemed to regain a touch of resolve, something that she had been lacking from the start as she took a deep breath and looked right at Tobias. “You haven't seen us perform yet. Please give us a chance!”
He had been perhaps a little hasty, but Tobias certainly couldn't see how they'd manage to do something that would convince him. Perhaps in casinos, in malls and in other suchs places they were a smash hit, but they wouldn't quite fit in. However, if only for the sake of fairness, and perhaps some visual stimuli after trite and boring performances, he relented. If he could get some eye-candy too, then why not? “You have five minutes. One big trick. Try to impress me,” he said, finding himself perhaps a bit too soft-hearted given the circumstances, or perhaps not all that noble in terms of reasoning, but he could use a little break. “If you fail, you will leave without making a fuss, though. So do try your best.”
Lièvre was ecstatic over this, renewed by this as the energy she exuded was decidedly different than her entering the stage. She looked at her partner who still seemed uninterested as she went to the tip of her toes to whisper into one of her tall ear. Lapine's reaction to this was partially hidden, her hair still over her eyes, yet she seemed to be surprised by this. “What, you want us to do that?” she said out loud, that mysterious suggestion being seemingly shocking. “Well...Okay...I mean...If you say so.”
“We will give you our very best number then, one that have left people gasping, shocked and a little tidbit that has changed lives!” Lièvre declared, doing a little curtsy, bending forward and presenting one arm and hand forward before winking toward Tobias, the sole person in the entire room to begin with. “We call this number the Hare-abian Nights. Now...”
Lièvre clapped her hands twice, doing so as a grand gesture as Lapine went outside the stage, behind the curtain as the fishnet-wearing bunny girl seemed to be much more energized and confident. “Let us impress you and print upon your mind the prestige of the bunnies of bonne fortune.”
Music began to play behind the stage, slowly filling it as Middle-Eastern melodies emerged, filled with slow guitar sounds, drums, flutes and tambourines as the title of this number suggested something taken from the Alf Laylah wa-Layla, also known as the Arabian Nights or the 1001 Nights in other circles. Given what Lapine wore, it was actually apropos, though Lièvre didn't quite fit with that atmosphere...and yet she went on with it still.
“In olden times lived a Sasanian king by the name of Sharyar, a man who suffered a most terrible betrayal by his wife whom had been infidel to him. Punishing her, his grief was immense as his vision of women and of betrayal was warped because of this...”
As Lièvre spoke, moving to the center and front of the stage, she then subtly moved to its side to let a bunny boy dressed in fine silk, clad in large puffy pantaloons, an open vest, a large turban which made his ears drop down in an almost comical fashion. He was a mix of buff and lean, going for the more visually appealing look which characterized both Lapine and Lièvre, though Tobias wasn't quite aware that they were more than two. Didn't they say they were a duo? And yet, the story continued as Lièvre's voice could be heard still, filling the entire room with gusto.
“Deciding that all women were the same, the king then decided to only marry virgins and then to have them killed the morning after their nuptials, his anger boiling to a point where reason and logic could no longer apply. Many found their deaths due to his fury and increasingly merciless approach.”
Upon this being uttered, many bunny girls of all colors, each clad in the most famous of bedlah, came rushing into the scene one by one, going in succession. Their shimmied on the tip of their toes, their hips flaring up and down at a rather fast speed despite their more graceful stance until they dissolved into smoke the moment they lined up with Sharyar, symbolizing their demise upon meeting the bunny boy. As the smoke dissipated, however, a new character emerged from the smoke itself as Lièvre herself was sitting on a very large crimson pillow outfitted with tassels, her own clothing being changed to something much more appropriate. Silk and satin trails, ample sleeves and top which didn't cover her stomach, a long skirt, filled with the colors of blue, indigo and purple with a veil upon the bridge of her nose, covering her mouth. She looked regal, exotic and yet sexy all the same, a rather daring combination.
“But then came Scheherazade, a woman of wits and boldness, one who would change everything from now on as she was to be the next wife of Sharyar...Yet she knew of what the king did with his spouse the morning after...As such, she had a plan...”
Tobias couldn't quite understand how everything had been set up. They were a duo, yet they were much more than that as they were all bunny-themed, the ears and bushy tails somehow not being in the way of the storytelling as Lièvre played a very convincing Scheherazade, a polite, witty and yet cunning woman of letter and charm. When she spoke, she told stories and narratives wild and varied, yet taken straight from the source material as characters like Sindbad, Aladdin, Ali Baba, Morgana and their likes were performed by a vast quantity of performers. Yet somehow he had to ask himself how they did all this. Where was the smoke coming from? How could they change outfits so rapidly? Where were all those other bunny-themed actors and performers? He had to think of this as a practical joke, the maintenance and technical crew pulling a fast one on him as there was no way this hadn't been calculated, been prepared for in the span of weeks if not months...Yet he was fascinated all the same as there were singing and dance numbers too.
Bollywood style as the forty thieves told of how they'd get their revenge on Ali Baba, duet when it came to Aladdin releasing the djinn of the ring, yet one which was especially fascinating was that of Lapine who hadn't been really active yet, who played the role of Morgana, Ali Baba's slave who saved him from threats and then went on to awe the leader of the forty thieves along with her master with a spectacular sword dance. She sliced, bumped and dominated the scene she was in, clad in her regular outfit which was still very fitting as the sword was in balance on top of her head while she seemed to be looking directly at him as she swayed her hips and it seemed as if everything on the scene converged on to her. Everything slowed down to a crawl, from the song to the other performers while Lapine was merely swinging her hips left and right...left and right...left and right...
It was a transcendental moment, the kind which very few upon this scene could actually boast about creating and sharing as even though he found the tones sometimes clashing against one another, the performances and production values made up for the extravagance...yet this was almost intimate right now. She moved closer to the front of the stage, not just seducing and distracting the characters, but her audience and right now this meant solely him...and it was working. She got closer yet it was almost as if he was part of the story too, projected forward as if he sat down in front of her and she swung those generous hips, her navel being so easy to focus upon as nothing seemed to matter anymore. It had been far more than five minutes, he didn't understood the bunny theme besides for the sake of a single pun and how everything just worked, but right now it didn't really matter as that dance seemed to be for him only...It was sexy, but classy. Seductive, but not crass in the slightest.
And then the illusion of something swinging in counter-point to her hips could be witnessed, the phantom of an object attached to a string. It was easier to follow those hips and that splendid, deep, kissable navel and yet on a regular basis the illusory object superseded with her belly button and it sent a slight shiver in his body and a pulse in his surroundings, as if a light tremor in his perceptions could be felt. It made him think of a black and white spiral for some odd reason, one that sucked him in just like those hips and that navel did, some light sweat pearling on that smooth-looking midriff as he almost felt like the bandit leader himself, completely charmed in the allure of Morgana, as if hypnotized by her performance.
The melody was low and subtle, yet sensual, almost following and caressing that belly with tenderness and exoticism as Tobias couldn't quite think, only bask in this splendid moment upon which he felt utterly convinced that this show would be immensely great, a marvel for all to behold as he smiled and felt happy, relaxed...as he should be.
“And then Morgana performs her excellent sword dance, making everyone fall for her, including you...It is so easy to follow her motions, to appreciate them more and more...” Lièvre said, whispering in Tobias' ear as she leant close to him, invading his personal space as her voice was sultry, seductive. “And then-”
“No need to speak further, Lièvre. I think it's safe to say that he's gone right now,” Lapine said, doing a few more hip sways and swing of her pocket watch as she eyed the one responsible for their possible inclusion in the upcoming program. His eyes were spiraling with black and white swirls, his smile silly-looking as he leaned close to Lapine's stomach, gazing upon her navel and midriff with adoration. “I'd say he's very, very deep into the Hare-abian Nights right now.”
In truth, there had been no production, no other actors, smoke, light, or anything save what Lièvre and Lapine spoke of. The whole show had been nothing but an elaborate explanation, a myriad of fables and suggestions whispered into the very imaginative brain of a suggestible and entranced man who had fallen for the unparalleled charm and hypnotic talent of Lapine, the djinn bunny. In a way, they had indeed respected the time limit of five minutes, though an entranced mind, with a touch of magic, could perceive things very differently when properly treated. With Lapine stopping her dance, the stage having been empty for a few minutes, Lièvre continued to speak in the very open and receptive mind of their current target.
“You've been completely awed by this performance and you will not associate it with hypnosis or anything so mind-boggling as this, instead being convinced of our potential...You will give us a contract for an unique performance and trust us completely with the preparations ourselves given what you've seen here,” Lièvre suggested, her own descriptions of everything that “happened on stage” being of her own invention as she added more and more, the pliant mind of Tobias doing the rest of the work as their hypnotic spell had him fall for them completely, seduced by the show he was privvy to. In his mind, he was still in the moment when Morgana danced, stuck in the mesmerizing loop which charmed him beyond belief as Lapine's belly, hips and navel were enthralling him utterly, softening his mind further and further still. “When I snap my fingers, you will awake and you will only recall that this was convincing and that you need for this show to happen in your establishment.”
“You know what, that thing you described sounds pretty good, though,” Lapine said, not minding that the induction was about to end to speak her mind as she floated close to Lièvre, imagining how they could actually translate text to stage just with the two of them. “I mean, I could really make it happen and not just project it through hypnosis in the mind of a single person, just saying. We did steal this spot for ourselves, so might as well put in the effort, you know?”
“Oh, that would be amazing actually...And it would be the perfect way to catch our real target who's an unconditional fan of the productions in here,” Lièvre replied, nodding as her hand was ever ready as her two fingers were close, nearly ready to snap and awaken Tobias from his exotic fantasy created by the convincing words of Lièvre and the genuine magic of Lapine. “Let's just say that this scammer will not ever steal or embezzle funds ever again...But I digress...”
SNAP!
The next thing he knew, Tobias had indeed a contract signed with the bunnies of bonne fortune. He did have to admit that he wasn't quite convinced at first, but they were ambitious, novel, cheeky and could actually usher in a more experimental era for the Grand Strikson. Perhaps everything would work out even better in the end. Looking at the contact details for both Lapine and Lièvre, the two owners of this most impressive troupe, he figured he might have to call them to help them prepare...
And perhaps to meet those two for other circumstances as well.
