Hours had passed, and it was now the late evening. Katherine had gotten out of a taxi, as she made it to her destination. The Brickhouse Bar. When she got out, she carried with her a guitar case, ready to perform and play karaoke with Mr. Bull. Katherine entered the bar, where she saw how lively it was inside. Everyone was drinking, eating, enjoying a good time. Once inside, she encountered the large man who helped her fix his truck, Mr. Bull. Happy to see him, she pulled up the stool next to him, and got his attention.
Katherine: Hi, Rufus!
Mr. Bull: Glad you made it, Katherine.
Katherine: Ready for tonight?
Mr. Bull: As I'll ever be. You?
Katherine: A little nervous. But I am ready.
Mr. Bull: Mind havin' a few drinks before going up?
Katherine nodded yes, as a mug of beer was poured for her. After a few beers, and some small talk, Katherine a bit easier about singing up on the stage with Mr. Bull. She only agreed to try this out after she saw that there was an option for music to be done with karaoke, and wanted to try it out with her guitar. After proposing her idea to Mr. Bull back then, he agreed. Thinking back to this, made Katherine smile. As the lights darkened, both of them went up to the stage, with Katherine having her guitar in front of her. Mr. Bull took the microphone nearby, and as soon as the song started to reveal the lyrics, Katherine started to strum a tune with the song they selected. Take me home, Country Roads by Panski. Katherine played her guitar, as Mr. Bull sung the first verse.
Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
As it reached the chorus, Mr. Bull took out a harmonica, and started to play. Both the harmonica and the guitar were both in sync with one another, blending in with the song beautifully. When the song reached the second verse, Mr. Bull placed the microphone near Katherine's mouth, as she started to sing, all while still continuing to play her guitar.
All my memories gather 'round her
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
As it reached the chorus once more, Mr. Bull took out his harmonica and started to play. Both the harmonica and the guitar were both in sync again with one another, blending together with the song. But as the song was nearing the end, all that was left was Katherine's guitar playing. When they were reaching near the end of the song, Mr. Bull held the microphone outwards, as the both of them ended up singing into it together.
I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin'
That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
When the song was over, the crowd cheered for the both of them. Unbeknownst to them, Shred was watching both of them in awe and in sheer joy, to just see another comrade who he fought alongside with was alive again. At this time, Mr. Bull and Katherine looked at one another and smiled. As the lights brightened back up, both of them went back to the bar, celebrating for a successful singing duet done in front of a crowd of people. When they started to celebrate, Shred approached the both of them.
Shred: I can't believe you made it, Katherine.
Hearing her name, Katherine turned around. That was when her eyes widened, as she was now face to face with a familiar face after a long while.
Katherine: Shred! It's you!
Katherine quickly hugged Shred, feeling relief that she was not alone when it came to coming back to life. After their greetings, Shred pulled a seat beside Katherine, who was now between Mr. Bull and Shred. All 3 of them started to talk to one another, as they caught up on what they did when they came back, and talked about what they would do going forward. The night went on, with the bar nearing it's time for closing. With the majority of the customers leaving, Katherine made her way out. Calling for a cab in advance, she saw the taxi she called for across the street. As she got into the back seat, she placed her guitar beside her, as she told the driver where to take her. With the address given, the taxi started to drive. With the city lights going past by her, Katherine looked up at the night sky, as she could do nothing but sigh.
Katherine: Gavin. I hope you're doing okay. And I hope you're staying safe. I will find you. I promise.
The taxi continued to drive, driving along the small amount of traffic that was still around, as it navigated towards its destination.

A very cute picture and story and a great song for the both of them, Katherine looks truly adorable in this chibi picture, so happy as she sings and plays her guitar. :D And I can totally envision Rufus playing a harmonica. ;)
This picture really turned out great in the end :) . Though Sho questioned me in the beginning about Katherine having a guitar for this, but the thing is some karaoke bars actually do let you use instruments as an option. Well in Japan anyways. And since nobody wasn't trying it out, I felt like maybe I would give it a try and see how it looks. I don't regret giving her that guitar in the end :) . As for Rufus playing the harmonica, it really fits him.
Yeah, I don't think any of Sho's other karaoke pics have instruments in them, just microphones, but I think it really suits Katherine, I'm glad you decided to try it. And yeah, it really does fit him very well. :)
I picked it because Mr. Bull looks like he listens to country music. And with knowing that, and the last song I heard was that version of the song at a anime convention, it fit him well.
Yeah, he does looks the type for country music, and I agree, the songs fits him and Katherine well.
