Saka Resource Corporation is a state owned firm, belonging to the federal government of the Saka Federation. It deals mainly with raw resource extraction and processing, in particular ore and metals. It's stated purpose is to ensure the resources of all three nations of the federation are being utilized in a productive manner that advances society. In practice this means undercutting competition from abroad, so that local private industry is not dependent on imports, a key link in the federations highly protectionist policies.

Within forestry, mining and petroleum the company has hundreds of thousands of employees, including dozens of the worlds sentient species. Mainly it's active in the coast of the Ursida nation, owing to it's little exploited deposits of ore and oil. It's considered a main drag for youths moving from the northern inland to the southeast coast, as many of it's sites always tend to have some openings for fresh apprentices.

Marat checked off a box on the rugged tablet of his, a fuse overload in the B2 shaft of the east mine had been resolved. While tracked down to a much too overextended chain of lamps and tools, some poor connections had been spotted and tightened as well, with a partially melted cable swapped too. He gave off a bit of a dumb smile, content with getting one more job in before the end of the month.

For three years he had been living in Kaskav, the southernmost city of the nation. For three years, he had been going at the same job. Merely one of a few dozen maintenance guys specialising within electronics. Yet, he still liked going at it, keeping the whole place running as best as it could. Every task feeling like a reward of itself to complete. He could only hope to keep things the same if he could not help it..
