Little side project I did while working on the animation project. It's a picture of Jengo, the character I play in the pen&paper role playing group Asyr and I are part of. Coincidentally, he looks a lot like my fursona! What a surprise! And yes: The white paw is done on purpose. It's something that happened to him during the campaign. I might also get around to drawing Asyr's character if I can find the time.
Asyr introduced me to the pen&paper group when we moved in together and I've been enjoying playing a lot!
I've been wanting to do pen&paper for a long time and even tried dipping my toes into it by designing some short simple adventures myself once, but it's definitely a different experience if you play it with a larger group at a steady pace.
This picture was heavily inspired by lots of the art of the game Elder Scrolls: Legends. I played it solo for some time and while it couldn't hold my interest for long, I really liked the art they drew for some of the cards.
Drawing this gave me a good opportunity to try my hands at a more digital painting like style again. I'm slowly getting more used to the different workflow and really enjoyed the drawing process. However I won't be offering commissions in this style for the forseeable future, as it does take a lot out of me and I prefer my regular style.
Anyway, back to animating! Enjoy!

He looks a lot like I pictured him in my head. What a lovable rogue! Hope my character never has to arrest him :3
We'll see what shenanigans the two will get up to in the future. ;3
Such a handsome fella! Really lovin’ this painting style! And the amount of detail put into the piece is amazing! From the coins to his toothy smile, it makes me grin seeing something so beautiful! And any lore for this character? I’d love to dip my paws into some pen&paper role play! But I have no idea where to start x3
Thanks a lot! :3 That means a lot to me! :3
And yeah, getting started with pen&paper can be tough. The best I could probably tell you is to look online for some groups that either play online or close to where you live. :3

I love the painterly style of this portrait. The lighting is moody and a great fit for the theme of "roguish adventurer discovered in tavern". :D
Welcome to pen & paper roleplaying, btw! It's one of my favourite pastimes.

Thank you! :3 We'll have to compare notes on pen&paper sometime! :3
That face, just, yuuum. I can see the inspiration alright, I really like the style and the departure is a surprise but a pleasant one. The subtleness that it comes from a story, in this case a RP, gives it a special 'oomph' I really enjoy seeing out of pieces. Bonus points if the readers who pictured him, match it like a carbon copy.
The environment, the glow, the vibes, the way he's looking at you...I don't care if he is a rogue or not, my attention's been misplaced and perhaps the contents of my pockets as well.

Thanks so much! :3 I really appreciate the kind words. <3
This just makes me want to play Skyrim again.

Amazing extraordinary work you did Night.
The atmosphere in the tavern is right, awesome now the neon blue light is on him, the white arm & paw adds a perfect touch.
Thank you!

For a minute I thought he was a merc holding a combat knife. It wasn't till I clicked on the image to see it was fantasy themed. Still, it's awesome!
Oh, I would be curious to hear what sort of system and such you are using.^^
I am really into Pen & Paper RPGs myself and thus always a bit curious what other people in the fandom tend to use when it involves furry characters.^^

It's a homebrew system called Infinity that was created by a friend of Asyr's. The guy basically cherry picked his favorite elements from various RPG systems and crafted his own along with a world to go along with. It's pretty fun, albeit a bit overwhelming at first. Thankfully nobody in the group is pedantic about it, so we always keep it lighthearted and fun. :3
Not this one here though, I assume?

If your friend is posting his system somewhere, I admittedly would be a bit curious to at least give it a cursory look.^^

Considering that the system you linked is sci-fi, already hints that it's not the one I meant. ;3
I don't think he has posted it anywhere. Which I think is a good thing, because otherwise people would just criticize every possible aspect of it.

I actually did not check closely what they cover, given that many systems can be a bit broad in their application.
And there are at leats one or two semi professional systems coming from the fandom.
It seems like a bit of a negative attitude though. Mainstream players in the market have been getting away with the most poorly worded rules, glaring issues with their math and a lot more.
I usually see a pretty fair amount of good ideas coming from fanprojects, houserules and personal tweeks, while some big players are still rather stuck in a rut - and not even the fun kind involving big hunky beastmen.

Looks really great! The shading and coloring is also pretty darn awesome! Great job!
This piece of art looks really good :3c ... you did a pretty good job... Again ;D
Maybe you should try and make your own lil card game? The Elder Scrolls: Legends was a fun game ,but then i found Gwent Xp ... Your char is a bandit or assasin?

Thanks. :3
And yeah, sure I'll just draw 99 more cards to get a trading card game off the ground. xP
It's a fun idea, but too much to handle for a single person. ^^

Do you need help? Maybe you just need ideas... less thinking about the chars and stuff for you :)
No, I am not interested in doing a project like that, considering I still have other things I need to work on. Thanks for the offer though. :3
Ah, seeing him reminds me of a Ranger I knew long ago. He told me this song a bard once sang about a village they'd ventured in. How did it go again...
"I once met a girl, from Galana."
"The things that she could do with a ba-"
...Er.... 0-0

I love the perspective, as if we've just sat down to chat to him. He seems happy to see us, especially since we've given him a bag of gold. His expression looks devious and yet inviting. I can feel that claw on top of the tip point. I like the distinctive colouring difference between each of his arms and hands. He is handsome and seems eager to see what his next job is. Great use of lighting, texturing of the fur and colouring. You really set an exciting scene and character to go along with it. FANTASTIC WORK⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow, the different style you used to create this really stands out! I could definitely see the D&D/gaming influence even before reading the background to the pic, and it really does look like a lot of the best card and supplement artwork out there--for some, even better than official art IMO. ^_^
Love the details of his hairstyle, the shape of the knife blade, the stitching on his tunic neck, and the blue highlights from the light source which work very well with his extremely bright blue eyes. Also quite curious about that white paw... Excellent work!
