Long story short, on the Frontier, the priciest shit you can buy is your helmet (wich include a VERY useful array of tools, be it a long range radio, the option to seal the helmet for void walks or the little beacon allowing your team to find you if you ever get lost) or a gun.

Most of the weapons tend to be crude but reliable, the most fancy shit being only affordable by the veterans.
As such, most scavengers tend to be armed with locally crafted long rifles (think jezail like, except slightly more modern) and back up cutlas/cqc weapons.


Peeps rarely wear any kind of armor, favoring the covers derelicts tend to offer (usually a maze of debris).
(you also don't want a heavy af protection for expeditions that can last weeks)
