CHOCOLATE FOX
Tired of chocolate bunnies for Easter? Try mixing things up with this original recipe for a life-sized Chocolate Fox!
Ingredients:
Ten (10) pounds of quick-drying Magic Shell chocolate
One (1) unsuspecting fox (this recipe uses local baker Gideon Grey, but any fox will do!)
Step 1: Invite the fox over for Sunday brunch. Promise him some dessert!
Step 2: Before the fox arrives, open your front door so it's a little bit ajar. Using a step-ladder, set a vat of chocolate on top of it. (Tip: spread out newspaper over the ground, for easier clean-up later!)
Step 3: Wait patiently for the fox to arrive and receive his preliminary chocolate coating. An electric fan may be used to speed up the solidifying process.
Step 4: Once the fox is immobilized, layer on additional chocolate until the coating is smooth, thick, and even, leaving his nose uncovered so that he can breathe easily. But be sure to seal his muzzle tightly--otherwise, the fox may eat his way out!
Step 5: Set the stiff chocolate fox on top of a soapbox, or other such pedestal. Generously apply chocolate over his feet until they are seamlessly adhered and attached to the pedestal. This guarantees the sculpture won't topple off.
Step 6: Place on display out of direct sunlight. Keep extra chocolate on hand to repair any chips or cracks that may appear over time. Refrigerate for long-term storage.
