Sorry to hear that, hopefully the medication picks up, or you find a medication or regimen that works better.
Dude. Know exactly how you feel there. Actually getting therapy cuz I had a breakdown on my bday. From what the therapist said to me it helps to focus on doing art and why you enjoy doing it. The community should be an afterthought. It still burns seeing others constantly get praise and admiration but the more you worry about them less and focus on you and the ones in your immediate area (those that support you) then those negative thoughts begin to fade. Ive actually been feeling a lot happier now thanks to it. The meditation is a great start! For now just try to focus on what you do and why it makes you happy and share your work and experiences with those that support you. Eventually you'll find your victories more often big and small. I support you kayakazan. Your art is fucking awesome!
That's a great comment, seriously! I'll take it into consideration, thank you so much, Jiant!
ey no prob! with the way things have been, it's best to stick together and help one another.
I know this feeling.
It takes a lot of time to get rid of these feelings, but it's definitely helped me to just focus on myself and the people who appreciate me for me.
Take pride in the stuff you like, and take your weirdness as a good thing rather than a bad thing.
You gotta just teach yourself to be positive about yourself when those negative feelings arise. Be gentle with yourself though.
It's very good you're taking up meditation though, I should do that as well...

Had a conversation in a discord server that covered similar things like this. Art is 5% creating and 95% a psychological battle. So we were coming up with some rules for ourselves to remember.
1st thing is stop looking at other artists succeeding and assume you need to start doing what they do for your own success; have confidence in your own expression. 2nd *is* to start expressing and stop practicing; practice/training is a waiting room that most often never want to leave. 3rd stop hating your old art; there are still people visiting my account and favoriting art from years ago. 4th look at the art world outside of yourself and realize that you are merely adding to the variety of options people have to be entertained; you're not a leader and you're not meant to be (fame is super distracting especially when an artist becomes world renown).
5th have fun obviously everyone knows that, but we all know when we stop having fun. It's when we stop drawing and start critiquing/planning. Losing ourselves in doubting our own work while we pour our heads into art-books, success stories, and video essays looking for answers to our doubts.
Ah yes, the joys of negative thoughts that stick to your mind like glitter.
as a writer, believe me when i say i know the pain. wrote a novel-length fanfic of undertale back in 2016 that actually had some smart psychological dives into the characters, and i'm not even in contact with the three people who read it at the time anymore. writer's block's been strangling me ever since, lucky if i can write a paragraph on an actual project as of late.
