This is the first chapter of a story that will hopefully get rid of my writer's block. What else should I type here?... Oh, there's some soft vore in the beginning. To me that part really short and not too much. But, I feel that if I don't mention it someone's going to complain. Anyway comments and feedback are welcome hope you enjoy :).

The sound of crunching snow rouses Brazier from her sleep like a punch to the face. The beast's heart pounds out of control as her vision narrows. Details melt away leaving only shapes and shadows. She waits for the inky blob to come within range before unleashing an attack with her mighty claws.
"Aaahhh!" A high pitched noise forces her mind back to reality, just in time to see a bushy tail vanish around the corner.
“N-no wait c-come back! I didn’t mean to.”
A ferocious blizzard howls just outside the cave- a warning from Mother Nature that no living thing should be here. Even a dragon such as herself can just barely survive. That furred creature, whatever it is, won’t last long. The dragon looks down at its body. Her bones are clearly visible underneath scaly skin. Chasing after that creature will take energy that she doesn't have. Ruby eyes glow as she stares at a pile of snow. It moves and reshapes itself until it resembles a bird of sorts.
“Go find it,” Brazier says.
The snow bird seems to understand and flies off. Seconds later the bird returns with something orange and fuzzy in its icy talons. After the bird drops the creature it becomes a pile of snow once again. The dragon's purple snout explores the fuzzy thing's body. Its breathing and heartbeat are weak and it's body is cold to the touch. There is a giant gash on its leg that is covered in frozen blood.
"You poor little thing. The least I can do is keep you warm while you recover."
Brazier’s mouth opens and a pale blue tongue stretches out and wraps around the smaller creature. The muscle delicately maneuvers it's limp body back into her mouth. The dragon swallows immediately, not taking the time to taste her guest.
"Glad you can join me, little one. It gets lonely out here."

Attention all passengers: Both of our engines have iced over so we’re going to have to make an emergency landing…
Zeke suddenly wakes up. His grey hoodie and pants are completely drenched. His head hurts. In fact everything hurts. Every inch of this place glows with a dim blue light and the warm fluid feels good on his pain filled body. “Where am I?” the fox groans.
Slowly the sounds of his new environment start to trickle in. The slow, bassy boom of a heart and the whooshing of wind above him. He tries to sit up, but no part of his body wants to move. He stares up at the wrinkly blue flesh and sighs. "It could be worse; I could be with my family,” Zeke says to himself.
The whole chamber shakes a bit. His predator seems to be on the move.
“Hey. You alive in there?” a feminine voice echoes all around the vulpine.
“You ate me! So why do you care if I’m alive?” he yells back.
There is no response.
“I don’t need your predatory teasing right now. Just be quiet and let me digest.”
Tears leak from Zeke’s eyes. Dying here is not what he really wants. But the alternative isn't any better. Suddenly a white light flashes around him. He is now outside floating in the air face to face with his predator. A gigantic Purple scaled dragon with bright red irises
looks at him. Perhaps the beast is angry at him for talking back earlier. Maybe it's going to chew its food this time.
“I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry!” the fox says. He cringes expecting the worst, but nothing happens.
That is until an unexpected sob breaks the silence. “Y-you poor thing.” The dragon pulls the fox closer and nuzzles him affectionately. The warmth of the creature’s soft scales offers relief from cold winds blowing through the cave.
“S-something has to be wrong. This has to be a trick. Dragons were savage creatures that needed to be slayed,” the fox thinks. He sniffs as tears begin to form.
“You’re a monster that has killed tons of people. ”The fox’s arms reach out to hug the dragon’s cheek. “So why?” Droplets of water are now dripping down his chin. “Why do I feel so safe right now?”
The dragon lifts her face away and looks down at the fox with a kind smile on her face. "Your kind have been searching for you for a few days now. I’m going to take you to them. And if possible we shall leave this frozen wasteland together,” the dragon says.
The dragon's joints and bones pop and creak as she begins to stand. Her claws curl around her passenger as she starts to walk out of the cave. Zeke looks up at her as he holds on to her finger for balance. Her ears are laid back and she's biting her lip. Probably trying to hide how much pain she's in. The young fox's mind is swimming. He's only known the dragon for a few minutes, but he already feels as if his heart will break if they ever become separated. Snow begins to fall, dancing erratically in the unforgiving winds, making it hard to see.
Zeke looks forward and can just barely make out a dark green shape ahead of them. The dragon lowers her claw allowing the fox to climb off and onto the snow.
Thud!
The massive reptile collapses to the ground kicking up a cloud of snow. She's panting, each breath she takes looks like a chore. But still the dragon smiles down on Zeke. They are so close to being rescued. So close to getting the one thing Zeke is missing from his life. He inhales deeply and yells as loud as he can, “HEEEELLLLPPPP!” Zeke tries to yell again but the cold air burns his throat and lungs. He chokes unable to say another word.
A light. No, two lights are now in view with a soft humming in the distance. The twin lights grow brighter every second. Zeke turns to face his savior and companion. “We did it. We're sav-” the fox’s eyes frantically search for the gigantic reptile only to find an empty expanse of snow and ice.
“Over here! I see something,” someone yells from behind the fox.
Visibly shaking. Vision fading. A group of three people all wearing heavy insulated clothing stand around Zeke. They are saying something, but he can no longer hear them. Utterly defeated, the fox falls face first into the snow.
4 Hours Later
Zeke sits up like a zombie. His new surroundings don’t even phase him. He just stares blankly at the wall lost in his thoughts. “Oh, look who’s decided to wake up,” a call comes from across the room. The fox’s eyes fill with light for a moment as he turns his head expecting to see the dragon’s beautiful red irises looking back at him only to be disappointed. A racoon dressed in a white doctor’s uniform is sitting in an office chair. His coat has a symbol of a hexagon with a pink heart in the center. His fur is light green with the characteristic black markings his species are known for. “Patient seems to still be a little out of it,” the racoon says while typing on his tablet. “Do you remember who you are? First and last name if possible.”
The fox hesitates but answers the question. “My name is Ezekiel Marten.”
The raccoon nods and adds Zeke’s response to his notes. “I just have a few things to tell you before we dock in the capital. Now your x-rays show that you have broken your leg as well as a couple ribs. You also have lost quite a bit of blood. I will allow you to go home, but you will need someone to monitor your recovery.”
“Wait, wait, wait!” Zeke shouts while waving his hands. “There’s no way I have the Zils to pay for all this. I-I can barely afford my home as it is.”
The racoon puts down his tablet and forces a smile. "Don't worry, Mr. Marten. The kingdom will be paying for this service and you’ll be taken care of by one of my best residents.” The doctor turns his tablet towards Zeke. On the screen is a rather handsome-looking lion with sand colored fur and a brown mane with a few black streaks-and one braid on either side of his face. “This is Matt. He’s going pick you up once we arrive and he will take care of you until you are fully healed.”
The sound of feedback squeaks over the intercom making everyone cringe. “Attention. We have docked in Citron City. Everyone make sure not to forget any of your belongings”. The racoon looks relieved to hear the news. He reaches under his desk and pulls out neatly folded grey pants, purple hoodie, and a shirt with a phone placed perfectly on top of the stack. As Zeke reaches for his clothes the floor rises up to meet his face. And the fox’s world once again goes black.
Brrrriiinnnggg!
An old fashioned ring tone startles Zeke awake. He is panting heavily and his facial fur is matted with sweat. Another ring makes him jump. Reaching into his pocket he pulls out his phone. Upon seeing who is calling a slight smile spreads on his muzzle. Still a bit out of it Zeke holds the phone up to his ear.
“Hello Mar- D-Dad!?... Why are you on Mark’s phone?... Sorry I couldn’t make it.... I-I know she was… Please apologize to Mom for me… Two… Yes. I’ll find some way to make up for lost time… Listen, Dad is this all you wanted to talk about?.. It’s just that I was in an accident! And you haven’t even asked if I was alright!... *sigh* Just give Mark his phone back. Bye… Dad.” Zeke returns his device to his pocket. A tear slides down his already damp fur only to be absorbed into the sleeve of his purple hoodie. Zeke sits with his face in his arms for the rest of the ride. After an unknown amount of time the car door swings open and a pair of sand-colored paws gently scoop the sorrowful vulpine into the air. Zeke is limp in the lion’s arms not saying a word. Only the jingling of keys breaks the silence. After some fumbling the lion finds the right key to Zeke’s apartment. It’s a decent place with a kitchen, livingroom, and two bedrooms. All of the furniture appears to have been designed for an animal much larger than Ezekiel.
Matt walks carefully over to the couch and sets the fox on the cushions. Zeke’s feet don’t even reach the edge. “I’m going to go and get my luggage. Will you be okay by yourself for a few minutes, Mr. Marten?” No response. “Okay then. I’ll be back” On his way out Matt turns around to look at his patient. “You might wanna take off that hoodie. It’s gotten pretty stuffy in here while you were gone.” And with that the lion’s fuzzy tail fluff disappears out the door leaving Zeke alone.
He sniffs and pulls the hood up. Despite the suffocating heat, being wrapped up in the purple fabric brings him some semblance of comfort. His eyes become blurry and start leaking. A high pitched whine escapes his mouth as he tries to stop himself from vocalizing his feelings. He jumps a bit when he feels a hand petting the top of his head. He didn't remember hearing the lion return. There's also a strange weight on his lap and he can't feel his hoodie anymore. Wiping his eyes with his hands he hesitantly looks down at his lap. There taking up the full length of the couch is a deathly thin dragon with ruby eyes. Its head is lying on the fox’s lap looking up at him. The dragon’s feet are against the armrest and its tail is hanging slightly off of the end of the couch. Her once purple scales are covered with scars and are losing their color.
“Don’t… cry… Ezekiel. ...I'm… here now,” the dragon says weakly. Zeke slowly reaches down and strokes her soft, leathery ears.
“I-it’s really you. I thought that you left me back on the island,” the fox says as his lips curve into a slight smile. “Y-you’re smaller than I remember.” Zeke chuckles nervously. There is no response. Slightly worried, Zeke looks down at the reptile. Her eyes are closed and warm breath billows from her nostrils.
Sigh..
“I guess you've also had a long day. You could've let me freeze to death back on that island, but instead you made sure that I was safe and warm. You helped me and yet I still don’t understand why.” Ezekiel strokes the dragon's face softly. He takes a deep breath and his body starts to relax. The fox doesn't fight to keep his eyes open, instead he embraces the wave of sleep slowly washing over him.
