For a while now, I had been thinking about the random wildlife that inhabit this alternate Earth I've created; the exact nature of the dinosaurs and dragons was harder because I'm admittedly not good at Speculative Evolution. But I have thought a bit about the mammalian species, both after reading through some books I have on prehistoric wildlife and after seeing artwork of extinct mammal species both on here and on ArtStation. So, I finally got around to it, thinking of different prehistoric mammals to include and trying to get them right based off of artwork of what these animals may have looked like in life. Took quite a bit to finish these guys.
Miacid - Small tree-dwelling mammals, similar to martens or civets; they eat small animals and live in Eurasia and North America
Tapocyon - A species of Miacid, it mostly lived in the trees of the Sierra Nevada but wasn't averse to traversing on solid ground when it was warranted
Creodont - Medium-sized, opportunistic carnivores who eat whatever meat they can get their paws on; extremely common throughout Eurasia and Africa, though they have come under threat due to the accidental introduction of American animals (reptilian, saurian, avian, and mammalian) into the regions they live in over the course of the 20th century
Mesocyon - An omnivore that is widespread throughout North America, a primary competitor of the Troodonts and Bathornithids
Proailurus - An arboreal carnivore native to the forests of western Eurasia
Anbulocetus - An aquatic carnivore endemic to the estuaries of South Asia, it mostly preys on fish and locals consider it a pest animal
Thylacine - A rather unique marsupial native to Australia, noteworthy for its ability to open its jaws wide to compensate for its weak bite strength
Lycopsis - Member of an extensive South American marsupial group, Lycopsis is an omnivore that primarily dwells in the trees in order to avoid the land crocodiles, dinosaurs, and terror birds that are the continent's top predators
Parictis - A fossorial carnivore, it burrows into the ground and mostly feasts on ground-dwelling animals such as squirrels, owls, and snakes; it lives in North America, mostly west of the Mississippi River
Pristinailurus - An omnivore who lives in the Appalachians as well as the Rocky Mountains' foothills, it is a common site in the suburbs of cities like Richmond, Philadelphia, Nashville, Atlanta, Cincinnati, St Louis, Tulsa, Dallas, Denver, Boise, and Reno
