This is a scene from many, many years ago, back in the days of the beginning of the Collie Squadron, before the creation of the Bureau of Superheroes.
Here, teenagers Abby (Firedog) and Vicki (Sky Collie) are beginning a 'friendly' training match with the supervision of the Maddog family trainer, Miss Grimm.
Long ago, when all of the Maddog siblings (except Misty, who wasn’t born yet) first got their superpowers and learned their dad was secretly Electro-Mutt, they were all very anxious to begin superhero work. However, their dad, Ben Maddog, insisted that all of them receive basic training in paw to paw combat from their long time nanny and Maddog family valet, Miss Grimm. Miss Grimm, an immigrant from Thailand whose legal name is virtually unpronounceable, had been a servant of the Maddog family for a long time, years before their mother (and Ben’s first wife) Emily died. It was Ben and Emily who hired her at a very young age and after Emily passed away, Miss Grimm became the nanny (and a sort of mother figure) for all six of Ben’s children. Miss Grimm is stern but very logical and fair in her thinking.
Anyway, when the Maddog siblings were told they had to have combat training, it was Abby and Vicki who objected the most.
“C’mon Dad! I’m Firedog! A floating flame thrower! I don’t need to use my fists to battle bad guys!” Abby barked as the group was gathered together in the underground Collie Squadron Lair. “Anyone gives ME trouble, I’ll just BURN’M!”
“That is not a heathly attitude,” Miss Grimm said sternly as the white robe clad Siamese cat femme stood to her feet. “All crimefighters must show great restraint when they use their powers to lessen possible collateral damage as well as unneeded injuries to suspects.”
“Abby’s right!” Vicki barked as the sable collie stood next to her sister. “I can fly, so I can defeat all foes from the air! Who needs to learn fighting skills when you have great superpowers like we do! Over there’s Molly! Her superspeed is all she needs to battle crime! And Linda can pass through solid objects like a ghost! Why does SHE need to learn how to fight? Now Roger, the indestructible Juggermutt and his elastic girlfriend Kayla could use some pointers on combat.”
“Yeah,” Abby added, pointing at Samantha, “And she needs fight training most of all! Her only superpower’s her genius mind so she won’t be going out in the field like the rest of us!”
“HEY!” Samantha barked with a growl. “My inventions will help all the rest of you..”
“ENOUGH!” Ben Maddog barked. “I am your father and you will mind me! All of you, and that means, ALL of you, will get this training. Trust me, you will need it when facing real supercriminal opponents! Miss Grimm, please begin.”
“Thank you. I will begin with our two biggest doubters. Abby, Vicki, come with me to the practice area.”
“You gotta be joking!” Abby laughed.
“Yeah, we don’t need this!” Vicki barked as the two sisters entered the area with their felime instructor.
“So, you two believe your superpowers alone can defeat any foe? Very well, let us put this to the test. I say that I can easily defeat BOTH of you, even with your powers!”
“Huh?”
“Say what?”
“Abby, Vicki, I will stand in the center of the ring. Both of you may attack me at once, using your superpowers.”
“Wait, no way Miss Grimm.”
“Yeah, we don’t wanna hurt you.”
“Neither of you will hurt me, I will prove to you that my training will be beneficial and if this is the only way I can accomplish this, so be it.”
“Dad???” Abby and Vicki asked in whiny voice.
“Do as Miss Grimm tell you,” Ben answered. “Trust me, she knows exactly what she’s doing.”
“If you say so, pop,” Abby said as she turned her flame powers on and floated upward with her sister Vicki floating up to join her.
“Let this demonstration, begin!” Miss Grimm meowed as the robed feline took a fighting pose facing the two airborne sisters, a pair of nunchucks in her paws.
“Miss Grimm, no offense, but facing us with just a pair of nunchucks is just plain silly,” Abby barked.
“If YOU truly think so, Abby, then attack me now!” Miss Grimm demanded.
“DON’T SAY I DIDN”T WARN YA!” Abby barked as she pointed her paws towards Miss Grimm and shot out flames to encircle her from above. Before the flame circle closed, Miss Grimm used her great agility to backflip her way out of it.
“Nice moves, Miss Grimm, but you can’t dodge my flames forever!” Abby bragged.
“I will not have to,” the robed wearing feline answered as she once more escaped another one of Abby’s flame encircling maneuvers.
“Dodging won’t defeat me, Miss Grimm!” Abby barked as the airborne inflamed collie watched Miss Grimm placing the ends of her nunchucks into some of the leftover flames in the arena.
“What is she trying to do?” Vicki watched as Miss Grimm held up her nunchucks that were now burning on both ends. The two sisters looked on in confusion as the feline twirled them for several seconds before she tossed them upward towards the ceiling.
“Now what’s that cat up to?” Vicki asked as the inflamed nunchucks struck the largest censor of the lair’s sprinkler system, instantly causing a blaring siren and flashing red lights to snap on. Instantly, a shower of water sprayed down from above, putting out all of Abby’s flames on the arena floor and on her body.
“NOOOOO!” Abby wailed as she fell downward, landing flat on her belly on the floor. Vicki stayed airborne a little longer, but soon she placed her paws on her ears and closed her eyes as she descended downward. As Abby tried to stand up, Miss Grimm performed a perfect ‘Judo throw’ on her, sending the screaming collie femme across the arena floor before she landed flat on her back. When Vicki regained her bearings, she discovered that her feet were inches from the floor as Miss Grimm landed a perfect roundhouse kick under her chin to knock her down and nearly unconscious. Miss Grimm then turned to see Abby slowing getting back up and quickly placed the soaking wet collie in an armbar, bringing her back down to the floor.
“NO.. FAIR..” Abby managed to mutter through the pain coursing through her body.
“Since when do supercriminals play fair?” Miss Grimm asked as Vicki started to sit up. “Do you yield, Miss Abby?”
“Ok ok I yield! LET GO OF ME!” Abby barked out as Miss Grimm released the hold.
“I yield too!” Vicki yipped, waving her arms and shaking her head no, “I’ve had enough.”
“I take it, have I proven my point?” the robed Siamese cat femme asked with a slight smile.
“You sure did!” Linda barked.
“That was awesome!” Molly added.
“You have some great moves, Miss Grimm!” Roger barked.
“And what do YOU say, Abby and Vicki?” Ben asked as he crossed his arms.
“Thank you for the lesson, Miss Grimm,” Abby said with a slight growl.
“Yeah, we won’t complain any more,” Vicki said as she held her jaw. “We get the message.”
“Good! Now we shall begin your training.”
This scene in the picture takes place a few months after the story. Abby, Vicki and the rest of the younger members of the Collie Squadron have taken Miss Grimm’s training seriously. Now, Abby and Vicki are ready to battle each other, without using their powers.

Good to see more of the Collie Squadron.
Also, I have a feeling Combat and Miss Grimm could easily compare notes.

Oh this is good. They realized that powers alone are NOT ENOUGH and opponents are UNPREDICTABLE.
Just wait till they(Collie Squadron and the Masons) see Ranger in action when the CGM come around.

Now here's a pair of collies I haven't seen in ages! Nice sparring match they're having.
