That or the magics of Fenmore have a spell of mundanity on them, so that those not magically attuned will not seem to care about whatever supernatural, no matter how fantastic, and think it's just normal life.
It's the bag, isn't it. Once all her stuff was tucked away in the bag he forgot it existed.
Time and patience is a virtue and if we wait, the reward will be worth it.
The names of the shops are a trip -- and deplorably realistic.
Alright so that confirms magic is a common thing. I mean "Witches Butte" being the town name was a clue, but nice to have confirmation.
Also ROFLMAO at "Gravy"

I know what you mean. Between Nintendo, Sega, and Playstation home consoles pretty much killed the video arcades.
Oh my gosh! Malls still exist! And their stores and sections have really terrible names.
He has a point, it IS pretty cool.
Edit: I just realized there's a store that's just called "Gravy!" and it made me wheeze. xD

It's a joke that's been going on between jonas and stokerbramwell for so long that neither of them even remember where it came from
Reminds me of how, hidden in the background of every John Landis film there is a advertisement for a fictional movie called "See You Next Wednesday".
As a pinball enthusiast, that arcade's name could not be more accurate.
Reading it, I felt the pain I feel when I see one of those in real life.

On the one hand, he's a hellish prince of greed. On the other, he has a tremendous singing voice
I've been meaning to post this for a while now. Penny's current outfit (low cut skinny jeans & a baby-doll top) reminds me of a story.
(I've taken a few liberties with some of the finer details, but this story as a whole IS true!)
The year was 1986. The band Aerosmith was half-way through recording what would become their 1987 album "Permanent Vacation". After a long day in the studio following several all-night sessions, the producer decided that everyone needed a break. So that night the band, the producer, and the entire studio crew headed out to L.A.'s famed "Studio 54" nightclub to cut loose and party!
Areosmith and their entourage arrived and were led to the VIP section. After a couple of rounds of drinks, the drummer Joe Perry notices this absolutely smokin' hot lady at the bar. She's sitting on the bar stool with her back to the guys ordering a drink. She had long blonde hair teased out with Aquanet (it was the 80's after all!), a slim hourglass figure, and was wearing faded low-cut skinny jeans, a black studded leather belt, snakeskin cowboy boots, and a short white top that showed her midsection.
Perry's band mates encourage him to go over and talk to her. So Joe gets up, and walks over to the bar. He gets about three-quarters the way there, and is about to call out to the girl when the bartender brings her drink. Perry then stops dead in his tracks as she spins around on the bar stool revealing "herself" to be none other than Motley Crue frontman Vince Niel!
Perry then goes back to rejoin his band mates (who saw everything). Steven Tyler then said jokingly "Damn! That dude looks like a lady!" Then they all have a good laugh.
And that's the origin story of one of Aerosmith's most iconic songs!

Huh! I feel like I'd heard this story before but it's been so long that I've forgotten it. Wonder if that awakened anything in anyone involved? X)
Hard to say based on the fashion of the 80's.
I think Dee Snider said it best: "Ah! The 1980's! A time when a man could spend an hour on his makeup, another hour on his hair, dress in skin-tight neon spandex and still be considered a competent heteosexual male!"

Not terribly critical to the story, but Studio 54 was in New York City...
You're right. It was in New York. I just looked it up.
Also, it apparently closed down in 1980. When I heard this story years ago, I could have sworn I was told they were at Studio 54.
As you can probably tell, I don't know jack about nightclubs!

As I said, not really critical to the story, but I'd hate for any of the kiddies here to get their disco history twisted. Particularly with Studio 54 being possibly the most famous disco ever.
And certainly not impossible that when you heard the story someone DID say Studio 54, since that album was partially recorded in NYC. So the real mistake was probably saying that this took place in L.A.

so glad were back and wow people are just so used to magic. BE IMPRESSED DAMN IT!
Perhaps they just haven't seen anything quite... revealing enough yet
option one: some type of glimmer is in effect which causes individuals to not remember magical events
Option two: magic is common, which somehow makes a bit more boring depending on how it's used

You're one of the first people to even suspect what's really going on here. Well done!
I love her expression she's so cute and beautiful <3 well done
At least the arcade is realistic. :(
Penn earned karma for brightenign that guy's day. ^~^

Wait...is that a coffee, not from your coffee maker? Penny, you're gonna make it jealous.
To say nothing of the fact that she JUST finished one coffee and already needs another...
Yeah... I'm starting to think that Penny has a bit of a coffee problem.
I just found this comic and it's adorable! The Slice of Life-ness just makes me feel massive yearning/envy to live in that world as some regular person; the way you capture this light hearted almost Sitcom-ish atmosphere is great ^^
I'm glad you appreciate it!! It's an unusual blend of comedy, fantasy, slice of life, and horny, but we're having fun with it X)
"the arcade with a few games and mostly just a claw machine"
Wow, hopefully they get good business

You rarely ever see anyone there and yet, somehow, they manage to stay in business...
The most far-fetched part of this page is a teenager copping to the fact that their mom gave them something cool.
That place on the left only serves hot dishes, because nobody wants a bowl of revenge.
Every time employees explain this they die a little inside.

Love how he just doesn't notice the magic. 😄😄😄.
Where can he be taken to that can declare him legally blind. ^^

to be honest, I'm curious about the menu at a restaurant named "Gravy!" they better have biscuits.
Actually, a gravy restaurant isn't all that far-fetched. In Quebec, there is a mayonnaise restaurant. One of their signature items is a mayonnaise milkshake!
A Mayonnaise Milkshake. That is just wrong! I hope this doesn't become a trend.

Just imagining that has put me off milkshakes for the foreseeable future
As we've said before: SUBTLETY is the name of the game here at Naked Penny X)
Poor thing doesn’t know her days of having dignity are numbered.
You know, given that this is the town of Witch's Butte I get the feeling the name Mammon Temple Mall might be more literal than figurative.
I'm guessing the mall doubles as the meeting place for the local chapter of The Church of Gordon Gecko or whatever other name the cult of Mammon is going by these days.

I still feel like we dodged a bullet by not having flying cars

I love the idea of that one restaurant. Gravy! Nothing to dip in it, or pour it on, just some good gravy! Also, love that the comic has a new page! Excited for future releases!
We're excited too!! Pencils are already done on the next page and ALMOST done on the page after that!
On a serious note, when I heard that Jonas would no longer be drawing this comic, I was a little worried.
I thought "Oh crap! The quality of the artwork will drop and it'll be like when they switch actors on a TV show. Yeah, it's the same character, but it just feels weird."
I am SO glad that that did not happen here! Looking at this page, It's amazing! I can't see any difference! If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that Jonas drew this.
To whoever did draw this, BRAVO!! You totally nailed it!

Jonas is still involved! The inks are his, and so are the colors. We wanted the "change over" to be all but imperceptible

...yeah, that seems about right XD

You know at one point someone was actually doing an SCP style write up of the collar itself. Wish I could remember who it was and find out if they ever finished it!
Everyone talkin bout how it's cool that magic is commonplace, but I'm over here confused bout the lack of chairs in the food court
