Once upon a time.
I always had a bit of trouble with sewing things on curves. Hair would stick into the seam, things wouldn’t line up and it was always a bit wobbly. For the longest time I’d just do it by hand to save myself the headache. It actually made me a little sad that I couldn’t master something so simple.
But after digging around in some other sewing realms I found a helpful tip. Sew AGAINST the grain or fur direction. After giving it a try, it made pushing the fur away from my sewing needle so much easier. This allowed me to better see what I was working with and line the curved pieces neatly together. After a few tries with the new technique, I can happily say progress has been made :D
The brown/gray/black tail in the photo is an example of something I would have done by hand previously. But now, it’s actually enjoyable.
Can’t wait to put my additional skills to good use :)

Yayyy! Congrats! I always respect fursuit makers, there are so many individuals skills to master <3
Absolutely, and with every project there is something new to learn and try out. It’s one of the reasons why I love this fandom so much :)
