He was the counterpart of skekUng the Garthim Master (aka 2nd General and later the New Emperor). His major role in the story, though not seen, was assuming the mantle of leadership of the Mystics, due to skekUng's ascension to the Throne, following the deaths of skekSo/urSu.

He sought to restore the Corona of the urSkeks, left unbalanced by the Division, using Amulets, Baths & Acupuncture; With his right hands made patterns in the air to restore the fires in the soul, while his left hands made patterns in the water to reduce them. He neglected all Music except for the Death Trance.

His major role in the story, though not seen, was assuming the mantle of leadership of the Mystics after the passing of urSu the Master, due to skekUng's ascension as new Emperor. Afterwards he led the surviving Mystics back to the castle to reunite with their Skeksis half (though urZah took point in the Ceremonial March). In the end, restored to his true form, UngIm the urSkek provided one last conversation with Jen before reviving Kira. Then, he and his seven other comrades left Thra and the Crystal of Truth to Jen's & Kira's care.

One hundred Thrine later, he and his comrades were reborn as consequence of the Fireling Thurma cracking the Crystal, creating a second Division; with the exception of urSol, urIm and the rest of the Mystics took no action in the chaos cause by Kenso and Thurma running to Inner Thra with the shard, while the Skeksis run amok in the Castle, merely chanting and meditating in wait for whatever fate was to come, tough at one point however, trying to protect the Gelfling from their counterparts, they destroy the Castle to buy more time. Incredibly, urIm and the other Mystics created a NEW Great Conjunction, which led to the rebirth of a new Crystal and once the missing Shard was reunited, the Crystal's power restored them back to the urSkeks (now 7 left with the death of skekSil/urSol). Afterwards the urSkeks, along with Jen, Kira and Fizzgig left Thra, as Kenso and Thurma took the mantle of leadership of their respected races.
