I reckoned I had had that previous generic pic of a Hagstrom II up long enough. This is MY actual Hag 2. The one I bang on and scare the crap out of the local critters (and a few neighbors) with. Everything on her is stock but she'll scream with the best of them... or lay down sweet sounds amazing. She can jazz, blues, shred, and slide. If I use the right equipment she even sounds almost acoustic. Solid body... and one of the most sweetest, skinny, slinky, smooth, easy to play necks I have ever seen on any guitar. Fender is good... maybe a close second... but this baby has a neck to fall in love with. Especially if you're a short fingered guy like me. Those with huge hands can play the Gibbys... I love my Hag. I'll leave the old pic I found on the web, that was as close to mine as I could find, up for a while longer so you can compare. You'll see the differences. Also note the Tremolo bar is not on her. I just slipped on a new set of Ernie Ball super slinky strings so I don't wanna stretch the crap outa them yet. Haven't even trimmed the ends yet! It took me YEARS... Decades to find this baby and cost me a sweet bit of pocket change. Got a Line 6 amp tossed in on the deal so it wasn't all bad. When I wanna shred I pull out the Mesa-boogie and hope the cops don't come calling.

Thanks. She's my lady for sure. Can't wait to get my custom made slide tube and take her for a wild ride. I'll actually try to record that and put it up for everyone to enjoy/laugh at/boogie down to. Whatever trips your inner ear, ay?
Foghat comes to mind. Joe Walsh and Warren Zevon were pretty good at it too. ZZ Top does a bit of slide now and then.

The song 'Sweet Home Chicago' did... but not that version. It's a fairly old and well traveled blues tune that even Foghat was doing a cover of. Many bands have. The original song was written in 1936 by Robert Johnson. Here's his original version;
