I was reading another story about a dragon who became an inanimate ornament and I actually found it very funny, so I tried to write a similar one based on my imagination during this weekend..
Once a dragon tried to steal a witch's house but when entering he broke the door entirely.. Sadly he didn't know that the door was very important to the witch, so she gave him a new chance to compensate.

In a very dense forest, there was, a dragon exploring that different place, he was looking for some lost jewels and gold to keep increasing his hoard, and along the way, maybe eat something if he needed it.
Surrounded by smany trees, he managed to find a small house, apparently abandoned and with some broken walls, but it looked very habitable and normal for a abandoned house.
Not wanting to wait too long, he soon ran to that "abandoned place" in search of something he could take with himself. Before entering the house, he came across a door, a little bigger than him, this door was tightly closed and it really wouldn't be easy to open it normally, so after a few strong pushes, the dragon managed to break the lock and break the door to open it, destroying everything that was in the entrance.
Inside the house there were lots of things and various furniture that apparently were in very good condition, even some candle lights illuminating some places, but he wasn't there to watch, he was looking for valuable things to take with him. Before he could take a few things that were around, a witch appeared right behind him, scared he even tried to pretend like everything was normal, but it surely wasn't. The witch looked at him and said "You don't think you'll run away from here after doing all this damage do you?".. Without answering, the dragon tried to escape somehow, but without success, for some reason his body was totally immobile, he could only look and move his head. At that moment, the witch said "I kind of wanted to be nice, but I won't let you leave without paying the price for doing this, I hope you like the gift I'll give you!"
In a matter of seconds, the dragon began to feel a strange sensation, he was suddenly walking against his will towards the door, when he reached the place where the door was before it was broken, he stopped again, the sensations this time became more intense, his body was not that big anymore, at the same time it was decreasing in size, it was as if there was a support behind him, he knew it was a door forming behind him, but he couldn't see his back, after a few minutes he was completely paralyzed and now the door was much bigger , he was leaning right in the middle of it, being able to only move some parts of his body, but without success again. Suddenly his wings glued completely to the door and changed color to a dark bronze, he could see his wings stretching against his will and turning to metal after sticking to the door. After that he tried to move his tail, but it moved on its own making a "U" shape, right after the tail formed its shape and turned to bronze, his legs and paws were practically hanging in the air, but soon they started to move on their own and support themselves on the door, while turning to metal at the side of its tail, forming a symmetrical position. Finally his paws, unfortunately they had no place to stay so they started to hold back until they fused with his wings, as if it were a Wyvern.
Finally, the only part that was left was his face, he could only look straight ahead, soon he realized he was turning completely bronze. he could see his muzzle turning to bronze and his vision becoming a bit brown but without losing colors, now his face was exactly like the rest of his body, and so it continued until his whole body was completely the bronze From that moment on, he couldn't do anything else, just look ahead, but there was still a little thing to come up... A ring appeared from the side of his mouth, completely round and forming a ring, ready to be used by any visitor who came in the future. Now it was complete, what was once a fierce dragon, now there was just a dragon-shaped door knocker, fully textured and very realistic, but still no one would suspect that this ornament was in fact a real dragon before.
After all that, the witch appeared and said "I'll let you enjoy your new form until I can buy another door like the one before, but maybe if the visitors like it, I can think about leaving you like that for a little while... or if they like it a lot, maybe even forever. If you hadn't broken my door, which was carved by my best friend, I would have let you go."
From that moment on, he already knew he was defeated, he was desperate to move or do anything, but there was nothing he could do, just keep looking at the path that gave access to the door, and serve as support for the visitors.
Time passed and whenever some friends of the witch came, they praised that dragon door knocker in various ways. Months turned into years, and the dragon at that point already felt like he had always been like that his whole life, as if he was born sculpted as a door knocker, he liked to be used and praised whenever someone visited the witch various times a month. One day the witch came back and said to him "I haven't forgotten you, it's been 5 years since this happened, and I finally got a replica of the same door I had... as much as I like you and want you forever decorating my house, there's no other place I can put you so I'll let you go, thanks for serving all these years.."
And after that, he felt himself returning to his main form, in flesh and blood, in the same way as the transformation, but inverted, starting from the head and ending with the wings, after falling to the grownd, he managed to stand up again, and in a moment was returning to its normal size.
The dragon thanked her in a almost fake voice, and promised he wouldn't go back there, and fled before she could change her mind.
He was lucky, since in a magic world not every creature has the same luck.
