(Image description: a sketchbook drawing of a froggy looking goblin with large bat-like ears, staring at a slug on a rock. In a second drawing next to this, the goblin has their mouth open wide with a large forked tongue flipping forward out of their mouth to squish over the slug and grab it. End description.)
Frog tongues are weird and don't look or work the way you might assume they do based on how they’re portrayed in popular media!
I recently found a very neat little video explaining how frog tongues work, so of course I had to draw one of my goblins doing the frog tongue thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5gRRheZf28
frog tongues are flat, they fold backwards into the mouth, they’re extremely squishy and malleable, and their saliva is a non-Newtonian fluid! They do not shoot long straight tongues out like a chameleon. Chameleon tongues are also super cool. Maybe I'll draw a chameleon person doing the tongue thing too.

Agreed, frogs are my favorite. Chameleon tongues look very interesting.
