Tracing Constellations Under the Night Foxxo
There's certain people that come into one's life to fulfill a pivotal role in their growth. Usually, they are full of charisma, spirit, wisdom, strength, and most of all, compassion. For Myles, this extraordinary person was his grandfather, Calvin "Cal" Fawkes.
Cal came into Myles' life when he was 7 years old. He moved in to help take care of the family while his mom had to work two jobs to pay the bills. Cal was very present in Myles' life as well as his siblings. Since he is the eldest kit in the family, Cal took Myles under his wing and showed him how to work hard and take care of his family. Myles would listen very attentively to the words of wisdom that his grandfather instilled in him. Things like “practice will always make progress” and “a victory, no matter how small or large, is still a victory”.
Myles loved going on different adventures with his grandfather, but his absolute favorite was watching the stars come out as the sun would set across the western horizon. The sky would be blanketed full of stars and faraway planets, illuminating Myles’ curiosity about the universe and what lies beyond it. Cal taught Myles the elements and characteristics of different stars and planets, the lore behind different constellations, and how our solar system was formed. During astronomical events, Cal would bring out his telescope and show Myles how to use it to spot all these extraordinary moments.
When Myles has the opportunity to travel out to his favorite camping spot, he’ll take his camping gear and telescope with him. Once he finds a quiet place with plenty of space to lay out undisturbed, he sets up his tent and telescope and enjoys another evening under the night sky.
Laying in solitary bliss, he imagines what Cal might be saying at that current moment. Tears might flow down from time to time, but it’s always out of joy. Holding onto such a powerfully positive influence in his early years is another tool he uses for warmth, light, and strength.
I think about my own personal experiences looking up at the night sky to have that same curiosity shine inside me. Camping in the forest and in the desert and away from the lights of the city filled me with such peace that I could not experience anywhere else. I have my father to thank for that love of nature and astronomy instilled in me as an awkward kit trying to find his place in this small dense rock called Earth floating around a burning yellow dwarf he calls the sun.
Kiblet is one of those rare gems you get to find through all the floof that is out there floating through FA and Twitter. Not only did his love of Halloween and horror movies attracted me to him, his gallery is filled with some incredibly raw and bizarre works that I absolutely LOVE to see. I can’t thank him enough for taking his time to create another brilliant piece of a night foxxo in his place of tranquility and comfort. Thank you <3
Do this foxxo a solid and give him a follow! He deserves all the love and attention for turning out such incredible pieces.
