Arkestran Details:
Arkestrans are a species with wings, manes, snouts, feathery necks, tails, and furry bodies. Most Arkestrans will be adorned with antlers and have snouts that look like a dragon's.
Arkestran fur is usually described as fuzzy, though fluffy fur is not out of the ordinary. Arkestran tails vary from plumed, draconic, slender, or furry, though other tails such as a leafy tail are not unheard of. Some Arkestrans have differently colored underbellies, but those underbellies will still be furry.
Arkestrans have feathery necks. These feathers are very fluffy and have a feel compared to down. Despite this, the feathery neck is very resilient.
Arkestran wings are typically feathery wings resembling bird wings or angel wings. A few Arkestrans have a more direct fae lineage and have fairy wings.
An Arkestran's head has a snout, usually resembling a dragon. Arkestrans have prominent manes of fur surrounding their head. Arkestrans typically have antlers growing out of their heads. Some Arkestrans are known to have horns instead of antlers.
Arkestran limbs resemble a furry dragon's limbs, with fur and sharp claws.
Arkestran Lore:
Arkestrans are a species with fae origins. Arkestrans still retain a few signs of their fey heritage, most directly seen in their culture and use of faerie magic. The most popular Arkestran mythos is that the Arkestran species once came from the Unseelie Feyrealm but eventually settled in the normal realm's skies.
Arkestrans typically live in floating colonies, composed of floating islands and sky towns attached to said islands. Arkestran colonies can range from a peaceful field, a murky swamp, to even floating lakes entirely composed of water. Arkestrans also live on mountains and other areas with easy access to the sky. Arkestrans will visit other colonies periodically and the more adventurous will descend to the surface of the normal realm.
Arkestran culture is based on flight and nature. Arkestrans will usually only land to rest, and fly instead of walk unless flight is impractical. Arkestran architecture is designed around aerial movement. Arkestrans see their feathery necks as an extremely important part of themselves. Arkestrans usually have tribal societies based around their colony. Arkestran rituals are performed with specific flight maneuvers and are the backbone of their interactions. Arkestrans value magic, colored light, and the freedom of nature.
Arkestran Guidelines:
Arkestrans are an open species, meaning you can create your own Arkestran and do whatever with your Arkestran.
Your Arkestran should have wings, a mane, a snout, a feathery neck, a tail, and a furry body.
I recommend tagging your Arkestran with the tag "Arkestran". Linking back here and/or notifying me would be appreciated.
