Spacesynth remix of Dubmood - Paradox #3 with a bit of a modernization. I have been enjoying the original tune for many years and have always wanted to make some sort of remix of it, and so it happened! Spacesynth was the perfect style to remix this in, as music like this has ties to the genre. In fact, it was this exact remix that inspired me to make this one in the first place. Hell, chiptracker music as a whole is what started my whole passion for music production when I learned how to screw with a tracker 5 years ago, so in a way this is a nod to that fact.
Remember: This is NOT trance nor synthwave, this is SPACESYNTH!
Produced in FL Studio 20
Any questions, comments, or criticism are all welcome! Hope you enjoyed this track as much as I do!

What did ya use for the sounds if I may ask?

LinnDrum samples for the drums and percussion, except the hi-hats which is just a noise generator, and also the toms which was some stock FL studio sample. The lead synths (bell, supersaw, and hard sync) were all created with Vital, with the bell and hard sync being as close replicas to the SQ8L patches "WAVBEL" and "EOOWW" respectively possible, though stereoized through unison effects. The strings and arpeggios were taken from channel 2 of the original chiptune.
If you want, I can send you all the Vital patches I used to create those for the song over Discord or Telegram.
As for spacesynth style itself, it's based off Italo disco, so it follows most of that structure (bass doing octaves, with it raised an octave on the off-beat, but doubled on 16th notes), a section of the song dedicated to a catchy synth brass chord/string spiccato chord section. The chiptune arpeggios aren't a part of it, I just threw that in there lol. For the chorus, most modern spacesynth songs go with a bellish sound (usually WAVBEL) for the first 8 bars, then switch to hard sync for the next 8. This formula is based off of Cyber People's songs, which I recommend you listen to them and study, along with KOTO, Laserdance, Hipnosis, and Proxyon, as they've pioneered the genre.
Hope this helps!

OMG, I don't know how I never came across that remix of "Spade Debris"! That is one of my fav tracker tunes of all times.
Spacesynth is a cool genre. I am *really* into Synthwave, but I can see this becoming a fav also.
Cool layering you got going on this tune. Lots and lots of interesting bits in there. :)

haha glad you liked it! i'm super into 70s-90s electronic european dance genres, mainly listening to italo disco which spacesynth is a subgenre of. funnily enough, most of the time i try to write anything with the sound of that era, it ends up becoming synthwave instead lol.
speaking of tracker tunes, you're really reminding me to try to learn how to use trackers for OPL2 sound card and the SID chip.

one of the greatest SID tracks I've ever heard :D
I spent month figuring out how to play all these parts individually when I was a teenager.

that 4th PCM channel trick is insane. i gotta figure out how i can get a clean signal outta my C64 into my PC so i can try to create and record some tunes off it. it would take me years to figure that song out XD
Reminds me a mixture of Sonic 3 Ice Cap Zone and Getaway by Maxx. Love this
thanks! I can see the resemblance. I recommend you check out KOTO, Laserdance, and Proxyon for the inspiration I took for this song.
