Life has been completely out of control ever since he was given his diagnosis. A terrible disease had infected his body and death was right around the corner. That is, until an alternative type of treatment was proposed to him. A researcher who had dedicated their life to finding an answer to this disease came to him. They spoke plain and simple; This disease is incurable. The human body was meant to be destroyed by this illness, but the pokemon of the Alola island built a tolerance to this disease where a cure could be devised. The researcher showed the paperwork and results of the pokemon that he cured of this disease. Perplexed at first how showing him cured pokemon would relate to his situation, it became abundantly clear what this researcher's treatment plan meant.
The practice that the researcher proposed was outlawed from being conducted on humans. If he agreed to the treatment, he would be the first human to have undergone such a radical change to their body, all for a chance at being cured, but they would have to leave their old life behind them to keep the treatment a secret. There wasn't any going back to their old life after this. But given that there were no alternative options, life as a pokemon didn't seem so bad.
Treatment would be administered to the patient over the course of a 7 day period. It's around the 4th day for the patient, and already he's feeling like he has more energy in his body. The affects of the illness seem to be vanishing away from his body along with their humanity.
Despite all this, the changes were something he looked forward to and watched with curiosity every day at how his body was being reshaped into something different. Life wouldn't be the same after this and fears about losing his humanity weighed heavy on his mind. But as he gazed up at what his new hand had become along with the vitality that he reclaimed back from his illness, walking down life as a Zeraora seemed like an exciting future to embrace.

I mean, who wouldn't go for this treatment?
Or I guess, I would, if there was an alternative c:

I mean, it's not that hard of a choice to make. Heck, find a friend to be your trainer and you're set :)
bruh if you're a Zeraora you don't have to go to work anymore. smart man.
This is an equally beautiful piece as is the story behind it. The curious gaze as he watches the changes taking place.
Would seriously take this option right now for me.
Realy enjoying your art and good story too.

*sigh* Some days I just wish Pokemon existed in real life.
I would take the treatment in a heartbeat if it would get rid of my leukemia
