So I had come across this a few times over the last couple years, but last week curiosity got the better of me and I decided to give Thursday_Prompt a go. Apologies to the people who run that if I'm not doing this right. So yes, something shorter, something a bit different, and something a bit reminiscent of the first story I wrote with the cave-dwelling fox brothers, now slightly radioactive.
Living after The Cataclysm isn't so bad when you've got someone watching your back. You make your own fun and keep each other company, and two pairs of paws always makes a job easier. But when that companion is the only blood you have left in the world, it makes every threat all the more dangerous.

Very action packed!
And I've used the prompts to nail down specifics about an environment or world I'd been thinking about; not having to tell a "main story" about it, but just something on the sides, developing some characters a little more.
