As any decent bird (or bird-thing) probably knows, there exists a certain "unflattering" viewing angle that is typically best avoided. Perhaps you've seen a bird friend strike a particular pose when the camera comes out to play? This pose often leaves them in profile, doesn't it?
Levanter, on the other hand, says "fie!" to the whole pretense! He's of the opinion that every angle of a bird should be both viewed and celebrated—"unflattering" ones be damned. In spirit of this, he urges his fellow birds to proudly gaze ahead with him in solidarity. Gaze into the viewer's eyes and thickly lay down the charm! And if they dare to ridicule your looks then, well, that's just their problem!!

Madness_demon, this time a portrait and featuring my garuda Levanter. Madness is a bit of a specialist when it comes to rendering scales and feathers (among other things), and as sad as I am that there isn't more of the latter on display here, it's worth it just to see Lev in an unusual angle! But those iridescent feathers really do look pretty I must say….
