I recently asked my watchers what they wanted to see in a tutorial from me, so this is the first of hopefully many detailing my process. This covers watercolours and pencils.

I definitely love seeing certain processes of others.

Wow, it must be awesome to have a plan on how to tackle a piece; I really try to get it on the first go without a sketch or thumbnail (it's only recently that I've given it a second thought) and that's probably why I get frustrated with a lot of my work.
Thank you for the insight!

you have inspired me to whip out my long unused watercolors! this is a great tutorial and a gorgeous picture! thanks so much!
Out of curiosity for the details part using watercolor pencils --do you wet the pencil at all or is it strictly a sharp, dry point being applied?
I really enjoyed this tutorial. Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

I keep the pencil dry. Occasionally, I may want to wet that area with a brush after, but not often as it ruins the detail.
